weird question.... Dh approved for SPG Biz amex.... I got a card today in the mail with my name above his....would this be the AU card? when I try to confirm reciept of card it won't allow me to use my login for it. I don't want an alt. login to remember, should I just wait till we get his to set it up?I've done the biz cards before, but not with an Au attached.
Sounds like you got the AU card before the primary came in! Not surprised they want the primary set up first tbh. I'd try adding it to your profile after he activates.

Bonus on DoC for CA residents for State Bank of India CA that has $3k in credit card funding on Visa and Mastercard. The bonus of $150 is definitely harder than most to hit and you have to keep $2k in the account to keep it fee free but here it is for anyone interested, for some reason I missed this one last month: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/ca-only-state-bank-of-india-california-150-checking-bonus/

I applied today, instant approval, funded on CFU (did not trigger a fraud alert!). DPs suggest I'll be getting a call from them and they may inquire about the 30+ inquires on my Chex report but so far no one has been shutdown after their convos.... (those are individual accounts, M&T double hit me for quite awhile before I learned how to get around that back in the day!)
Follow up- they just called, asked how I heard about them (found them online) and then told me how to keep it fee free and what to do for the bonus. Painless, no mention of Chex and took just over 1 minute in total!

Well, that's inconvenient!

I would go in and save a copy but I can't even login right now...it is just giving me a blank screen when I login. :/
I get that sometimes and have to switch browsers. I can't look at UR on Chrome anymore for whatever reason. I can look at my account, just not the UR part.

Something similar happened to me too. The room charge for my WDW room showed up on my portfolio and I was worried it would be a big mess to sort out. However, it reconciled itself in the end, just as our friends here told me it probably would. Did you check your cc to make sure it wasn't just a pending charge that fell off?
It's no longer pending, we're nearing a month since the stay now. I honestly think they ignored that fact that I said I had a reservation and just booked me in that night. I had booked a 2 queen suite on points, when we entered the room we were in a king (accessible at that). I was too tired at that point with a migraine coming on so we just dealt with it since it was a one night stop. I didn't think much of it until last week when I was looking over my MSR for the card and noticed it hadn't dropped.

I am still with YNAB 4 as well. It seems to be glitchy lately though, which is concerning. Hope it hangs in there. I trialed nYNAB and didn't care for it.

Luckily I haven't had any issues with YNAB 4 yet, but they did say they were only going to support it for a year following the release of nYNAB so it wouldn't surprise me if issues start creeping up. I resisted changing to nYNAB just because it rubbed me the wrong way that a software/company whose entire philosophy was getting your budgeting back on track and now they were adding a monthly/annual line item in said budget, but nowadays I've mostly gotten over that. I'm just cheap and lazy and don't feel like converting everything at the moment so I'll hold out while I can.

Yes, I can never get it to work in Chrome anymore but today Firefox isn't working either! What a pain!

I was about to sign up when they announced they were going to the new version... so I put off signing up even longer since it would no longer be a one time fee. But eventually I signed up... but in your shoes, I'd be in the exact same place :)

At one point in this thread someone posted a google or excel spreadsheet that they use to track their cards. It had various columns to track dates, bonus activity, etc. For the life of me I can't find it today. Can anyone help me?

I can log in to my Chase account and pay cards, etc just fine in Chrome. But if I want to do anything with the UR portal I have to login in an incognito browser.

I just went on to DL and to buy 10k in miles is 350, so it sounds like a good deal to me, especially if you also use the card for free checked bags.

How much do you use the card? I still have several months before trying for a retention and I do put spend on it with offers and stuff. Also, what number did you call so I can make note of it for next year? :)
That makes me feel better. I have been using the card to take advantage of the 10% offers, but not much otherwise. I haven't even flown Delta since getting the card because my plans changed. The number I called was 800-452-3945 which I believe is the direct line for the retention department. It was listed on flyer talk and a few other blogs.

UR -> Virgin -> ANA booking experience for Tokyo (so far):

Searched through United and saw tons of availability in F and J in June 2019 for one passenger, two was coming up very scarce as the window we have to go is VERY tight. Probably because of the MR promo. I decided to just book it as the change fees are only $50 if I really need to change the dates.

1st call to Virgin to inquire - CSR tells me that absolutely nothing is showing up around my dates for either Nartia or Haneda for two passengers. Advises me to call back later as ANA might release more rooms (later saw on r/awardtravel that it is VERY rare).

Me and SO decided the J class is already pretty secluded and even if we were going to sit next to each other, it would be hard for us to talk. Called VS again to inquire about booking J & F one way and F & J the other and vice versa for SO round trip.

2nd call to Virgin - It worked. Call was really easy. CSR understood exactly what I wanted on the first try, put me on hold for 5 minutes and came back with the reference numbers. Told me to call back in 24hrs. 200kVS points and $300-ish each for taxes and fuel.

Here's the start of what's making want to :badpc::badpc::badpc: with UR...

Me-175k SO-35k

Log onto UR to combine points (SO's FU -> My CSR) and get an error "This card is not eligible to receive points from you at this time." Tried SO's CFU -> CSR and get another error, so I decided to call Chase. Me and SO have the same address as we live together, so it should be no problem.

Call 1 - CSR tells me that SO needs to be an AU on my CSR to transfer UR and I would need to pay $75 (What?).

Call 2 - Nice CSR tries to transfer the points manually through her system but is getting the error as well. CSR escalated it to a technician and advised it could take 7-10 business days. Eh. Call was at 1am last night, so no management was there to help me.

Call 3 - Asked for a manger, so the CSR put me on hold. Talked to the supposed manager she tried to transfer the points to no avail. Put me on hold for a good 20 minutes and she tried every which way to transfer points from my Chase cards and SO's cards to get them together. She even tried to transfer SO's UR points to my VS account through UR to no success. Advised me that none of the ways she has access to aren't working and would have to escalate it further. Also tweeted @Chasesupport as a hail mary this morning and haven't received a reply yet.

Figured to call VS and have them cancel the reservation since I wasn't going to meet the 24hrs. to book with only 175k UR in my account. Agent gave me 72 hours more to call back with payment!

Still haven't combined the points yet. Saw this https://pointsyak.com/miles-and-poi...wards-unexpected-error-when-combining-points/ and figured this might be the problem. CSR was "attached" to my CIP.

Yeah, that is a peculiarity with the UR transfers. Search "daisy chain" in this thread and you'll see some comments about it.

Have you tried transferring SO's CFU ==> your CIP ==> your CSR? (daisy chain method) Is there a card already linked to your SO's CFU? If there is, then you need to remove it and wait 24 hours before linking a new card to SO's CFU.

I sort of stumbled on transferring UR the way he described ..lol...good to know I should keep doing it that way

So this is all interesting. I have only called Chase UR travel agents a couple times and I speak to someone different each time. For transferring, did you call and say this is what I want to do, and then refer NCL to that particular agent? Can you just keep asking for the same agent each time if you are getting good results?

As far as DCL for my parents, my Dad likes classic Rat Pack style music, the talent shows, and meeting and talking to other people. With Disney, it sounds like the shows are all Disney derivatives, and he never has been interested in those intellectual properties as such. He is limited in mobility nowadays so he often stays on the ship rather than shore excursion so I would really like to make sure he likes the ship. My wife and I thought the Disney cruise looks like a blast, but we are Disney folks.

The Norwegian ship would be the Escape leaving from NYC September 1. The ship has the water park for the kids and what I think would be good entertainment for my Dad. So it seemed like a good mix between the kids and the elderly in my group.

Each agent has their own extension number, when you call in and are connected to the cruise and tour dept there's an option to enter an extension. That will take you to that agent, or if that agent's out put you into the regular queue; sometimes you can leave a message. So yes, you can work with an individual agent and most places that work this way have a policy that any agent can service your booking if you need something that can't wait.

As far as transfers go, you need to give NCL the agency name, phone number and the name of the TA. There's a form to email, here's the page: https://www.ncl.com/freestyle-cruise/guest-reservation-transfer-faq
So you'll need to have an agent ready to accept the transfer. If you don't get one yourself I can send you the ext for mine.

As for the cruises, hm, there are 3 nights of Disney shows like you said - based on Disney IP. The other nights are usually variety acts or comedians. The "Disney Cruise Line" section up above (takes you to the parent site) used to have the Navigators for each ship (not sure how current they are, I haven't looked in a while). That's the weekly schedule for cruises, gives you an idea of the type of shows and entertainment are available. The Disney shows stay the same but the other acts rotate so it may not be exactly as in past schedules. I haven't done the Escape but from my reading it does seem like a good compromise between the older and younger generations with the new ship designs. The nice part of Bermuda is you dock for 2-3 nights so you don't have to rush excursions. On the flip side, I recall for most Disney itineraries they have a shore excursion designed for limited mobility. Many times it's a tour of the island in an accessible van, but at least you get to see something not the ship that day :)

So again, tough choices :) Bermuda might edge it out as long as you can find the type of stuff you want to see and do for a couple days there. I felt it was a much more laid back journey as most of the stuff we found to do were sight seeing and beaching. If that floats your boat that might be a way to go this time. I'd still recommend doing Disney at least once, if you can afford it, at some point.

Yeah, The manager transferred SO's 30k from her CFU to her CSR and tried to transfer it to each of my UR cards. I removed the CSR from my CIP last night and I'm planning on waiting 24hrs to try again. I'm hoping that what I did was the issue which was SO's CF => CSR <= CIP

I sort of stumbled on transferring UR the way he described ..lol...good to know I should keep doing it that way

Did the 24hr. trick work for you to fix it?

It has worked for me in the past. I hope it works for you!

Now I must know of their offenses!

We've only done Frontier but it was pretty terrible and enough to make me refuse to even try Spirit.
Google Sun Country stranded passengers. They left a whole planeful of people in Mexico and refused to send a plane to get them.
