I love credit cards so much!

So, I am over half way to my MSR on the CSP and am thinking about my next move. In the past I hadn't really considered the CP because we have 5 in our family, but am now considering doing it for both myself and DH. Other than that I am focusing on UR cards. Hard to believe when I found this thread a few months ago I said I wasn't interested in business cards, and now I think I've convinced DH to do a SW business. My question with that would be the 'business'. He does ref some basketball games and earns about $1000/year. I know about applying sole proprietor, name as business, and SSN as EIN. Any advice as to what categories would work for this 'business'? The only thing that seemed to fit was Arts, Entertainment, and Recreation, Spectator Sports, and Sports Teams and Clubs.

Myself: 1/24
CSP: 6/18
Disney: over 2 years old

DH: 1/24
SW Plus: 4/18
CF and Disney: Over 2 years old

Here is my rough plan for the next 6 months or so
Myself:
CSP: 6/18
SW Biz: 10/18
SW Plus: 11/18
CIP: 4/19

DH:
SW Plus: 4/18
SW Biz: 8/18
CIP: 1/19

Of course this is assuming getting approved for business cards. I am also undecided on the double Sapphire dip for DH. Our normal spend is probably around $1500/month so am not sure about the $8000 MSR. But maybe I could time it and pay our taxes in December with it. I know there is a fee, but maybe would be worth it.

Thank you for all your help so far, any advice is appreciated!
Just remember for your SW plan, make sure your bonuses hit in the same calendar year! If they hit in Jan 2019, you’ll have the CP through 2020. If they hit in 2018, you’ll lose out on a year of CP!

Thanks, I wasn't really planning for the CP when DH got his in April. I think for mine I will probably meet the spend in 2019 so we will have two CP for 2019 and one for 2020.

Has anyone else lost the "Savings" tab on the AmEx site? On both accounts that tab is missing. Been like this for more than a week. At first I thought it was just AmEx's site being goofy like usual, but I just realized I've logged in from a new computer and it's still doing it on two separate accounts. So it's not like their usual caching problems.

Yep - gone missing from my accounts too.

Follow up, it just now occurred to me that you've only listed Chase cards for your 5/24 counts. I just wanted to make sure these were the only cards you've opened in the last 24 months with anyone, not just Chase. It's entirely possible, but didn't want your future plans derailed if there were really other cards mixed in there :)

Doh! They changed it to Aug 30th now.

So I just skipped like 100+ pages. Got busy with life, parents came and the big laser arrived and I have been lasering all sorts of stuff. :D Once I get some pictures together I will post a link to them some where as not to off-rail this thread too much.
If you didn't skip 100 pages - you'd have seen that I posted an update on the aug 30th date :p :p HAHA!

Thanks for checking, no other cards :)

At Costco this weekend the checker asked if we were paying with our Costco card and when we said yes he proceeded to hold it up to the terminal and the payment processed!! CONTACTLESS CC PAYMENTS HAVE COME TO AMERICA! I am embarrassingly excited but y’all might understand :)

Has anyone done CIBC bank bonus?
I see on DoC it’s in branch only. There is a branch nearby, but my they have strict banker’s hours.

Since I'm in the market for some flights via the Chase travel portal in the near future, I decided to log in to my Freedom account and do a dummy booking to see what the Expedia interface is like. First big news, IT SHOWS FLIGHTS FOR 330 DAYS OUT!

After a small glitch (it asked for my children's ages then wiped them out after I hit search so I had to re-enter them), I was able to search round trip flights JFK->LHR for 6/28-7/7/2019. Another glitch is that it shows you the one-way price for each flight but the screen says "roundtrip" underneath the price. I can't figure out how to upload a screen shot here, but the cheapest outbound flight options on Virgin Atlantic say:

$272.55
or 27,255 PTS
roundtrip

But that's the one-way price, not roundtrip. Hopefully that gets fixed soon as it's confusing if you don't know what your flights should cost.

Another thing I noticed that may be confusing is that when you search for Economy class, the results default to Basic Economy if the airline offers it. Some are labeled as such on the results screen (AA, BA, Iberia, Finnair) but some are not (Virgin Atlantic, Air France, KLM). For the latter, you won't know it's a Basic Economy fare unless you click into the details where it shows that there's a fee for a checked bag. There also isn't a way to exclude Basic Economy fares in the initial search, which for me would be ideal. However, after you choose flights and advance to the next screen where it shows your total price, it gives you the option to upgrade your fare class and lists what's included with each class along with the total price for the upgrade.

Overall, I think it's a pretty easy to use interface, especially once they fix the little glitches I encountered. I hope the other UR-earning cards get the update to Expedia soon as the former interface has seemed very glitchy lately with only showing flights 9 months out. Plus I'm pretty sure I've also been getting Basic Economy fares in my search results through the CSR but there is no indication that that's what it is or option to upgrade before purchasing. Perhaps (hopefully?) these issues are happening because they're in the midst of updating all the systems. I'd love to be able to book my London flights through the portal and not have to call in. (I'm also still watching flights to Puerto Rico in February, but haven't pulled the trigger yet.)

Hah. My Dad was in town this weekend and was telling me about his contactless Costco card... I had to show him a video of how easy a guy with a mobile CC processor was able to walk around and place charges on peoples cards w/out their knowledge.

So, if for example The Swan (WDW) is 12,000 starpoints a night, once they combine the point programs, will it then be 36k / night? Anyone know or want to guess?

It’s on the new charts. It will be 50k per night regularly. Less during value and more during peak.

Thanks. Is anyone working that card all you can before they combine the points? Is it Aug 30? I'm thinking of working that card for the rest of the month to collect as many spg points as I can.

I’ve got 6 nights booked at the Swan, Nov 10-16th, and preparing to buy 4 day park tickets now through Chase UR. I have 126,000 now on one account but my 86,000 will be hitting my Chase Business Ink on the 18th. I’m buying a total of 2 adult tickets and 4 kids. Will it make a difference if I call tomorrow and “order” the 4 kids tickets, then wait for the 18th to “order” the adult tickets? Or should I just wait and transfer the points on the 18th and order all 6 together?

Once they are ordered, what’s the easiest way to get it all linked in My Disney Experience? I thought I read that I’d have to call Swan and get a new confirmation number because the one in the email wasn’t the same?
