I love credit cards so much!

Quick Amex offer question-
I have the staples 10% off $1000. Do I
Have to buy $1000 at one time or will the 10% come off if I spent it over a few weeks?

The list of prizes for the one in Baltimore has gift cards to local restaurants, Orioles tickets, as well as a small instax camera, bose Bluetooth speaker, echo dot, tickets to American Idol, and 10K points. It would be an hour drive for me, plus finding parking at Inner Harbor and hanging around for a chance to spin. There's also an $800 value prize of round trip travel. Our high today is only 86 so I gave it a moments consideration and then ditched the idea. Other than the trip which is for 1 person the prizes are anywhere from 15-45 in quantity. The restaurants gift cards are for $60. I guess that will cover one person around here..
My family’s thinks am crazy for considering it. I told them my churner friends understand the struggle of wanting more points!

I have to say all this credit card/point accumulation has ruined me for staying in hotels. I am in DC at a conference which is at The Watergate. Fancy without cause basically but is where the conference (and paid conference per diem is at). My only thought is “but look there is a Marriott!” “No wait isn’t that IHG that @calypso726 stayed at somewhere around here?” I seriously want to find the IHG for future reference more than go see the next monument etc. :)

In other news my Plastiq ACH payment with the CIP for the home equity loan finally posted to the account a complete 3 business days after it was send date (I said deliver Friday...today Wednesday it posted). I guess next I will try the mortgage which is also with same credit union. Fingers crossed. Thanks again everyone for the Plastiq help/hand holding. You all are awesome!

Well, if you haven't seen Hamilton, just walk across to the Kennedy Center - you are right there. You may be able to get tickets on the KC website - and if you can't, go for standby at 5-7. If it is sold out they do SRO for $49. Also, they have a free performance, usually at 6pm, that you can go for. casual dress is okay for most, but Opera House is a bit special so I wear a nice summer dress, but not everyone does....

They also have Second City until Sunday - improv.

The food in the café is also okay but is a bit pricey.

Darn, I had no idea this was happening in Baltimore today. Getting DS11 off of Fortnite would be my problem. He did promise we could go get his school supplies today so I already have that battle on my hands.

TBH if I had someone to hang with and go to lunch there with tomorrow (Aug 10), I'd be much more willing to go. The Inner harbor is always nice and I do enjoy it.

Its supposed to be tomorrow - August 10. You still have time to plan!

I just made the Staples purchase today and the $10 is pending in RMN. On the other hand, I bought a $25 Hulu card from Walgreens yesterday, and the $5 that was pending seems to have disappeared. I also did the $15 Office Depot RMN on Monday and that's showing pending just today. So maybe it can take a couple days? I hope it shows up for you!
Did you do a flat purchase or throw in a filler item?

That's even better since I have no meetings for work tomorrow! Hmmm...now to figure where you sign up at, just in case...

Look on the southwest website for Southwest Priority Tour.

So here I am, trying to catch up again. I ended up going back to Socal for a week ten days after we got back from our DL trip, for a family emergency.

I have another WWTDCD (What would the Dis churners do) Chase application question. I double dipped the sapphires in early May. My last Chase app before that was 3 years ago. Recently, I've been thinking about moving away from Chase for a while, after being underwhelmed by the new SW card. I was planning to apply for the Hilton Aspire later this month. Then I read about the 100k offer for the new IHG card and now I don't know what to do. Getting this card would not only get us the 100k bonus, but would save us 30k points on our Dec. trip to DL because of the 4th night free benefit. BUT, of course I'm terrified of a Chase shutdown, as most of us are. I currently hold a Slate, an IHG and the CSR and CSP.

Is it too risky to go for this card when I'm 6/24 and just double dipped three months ago? I feel like the double dip puts a big target on my back.

@SouthFayetteFan’s has some insight into shutdowns: IHG at 6/24 three months after a Sapphire double dip?
It's possible that you're safe to get an IHG card now. Can you list the 6 cards in your "6/24 count" with Month/Year they were opened?

Thanks! I found it. You'd think they could be a little specific than "Inner Harbor" though since that's a fairly large area to have to search from them.

Hmmm, didn't realize Baltimore was a stop. I work in downtown baltimore (right by the harbor), so might have to see if I can spot them during a walk at lunch. Will report back here if I see them setting up in advance to give others a precise location, if interested. My guess is they will probably be set up either where the ice skating rink is during the holidays, the food truck area on Wed and Fri (McKeldin?), or where the Thursday farmer's market is. That is if the location is solely listed as "inner harbor"; those 3 spots have the most space for something like this.

Did we ever determine if BBY sends L3 data to Amex? Need to finish off my Hilton spend in the next two weeks and I was planning to finish it with the BBY deal on Disney GCs, but just occurred to me that may not be a great idea.

Is that the area over by the carousel and the science center?

Yep, there are still same day face value tickets available for Hamilton, for the most part (but they are very expensive, fair warning).

You can also enter the lottery. 40 $10 tickets are drawn for every performance.

Four of us have been entering the lottery on a regular basis and no luck at all.

Most performances have $625 tickets. Some still had $349 when I checked last weekend.

The KC will change the price shown depending on sales - they seem to know what they are doing with these tickets. Plus, right now they are showing sold out for today but by afternoon you might see a few extra chairs thrown in. I've been watching the sales quite closely, first to get my $149 tickets (since then cheapest I've seen were $179) and second to pick up a set for my oldest daughter.

Any seat in the Opera House will be good. We had no complaints with our last row 1st tier seats.

I bought some office supplies because I had a $5 off $25 coupon. That said, the office supplies came to $28 before the coupon, so those wouldn't have been enough on their own to trigger the RMN offer since that is $30 spend.
