You can buy Disney GCs from BJs online without a membership. I’m in IL, closest BJs is OH. No problems

BJ's started requiring a membership sometime this summer (starting to lose track of when all the changes have happened for GC's). When you go to checkout it requires you to sign in with a membership to complete the purchase But they have an online only membership option for $10 now so it's not completely terrible. Still, not as friendly as they had been.

I now have 7 Amex cards, 5 opened this year, 2 in the last week. The Biz Platinum is a charge card, and a biz card at that, so your 3 other credit cards don’t matter for approval. You’ll want to have a story ready to chit chat about with your rep, and numbers for the application. My rep actually wanted me to apply for more cards! Check out my post from last night?

@Albort does virgin only work with the United/Ana if it’s a saver award flight? What if United has a normal business seat available? Can they still book that for me at 90k miles roundtrip?

im not too sure but if u find it on United, you should most likely be able to book the same on Virgin. Virgin Atlantic Reps i heard are very competent with doing so. give them a call and check ahead of time if u like!

You DO need to cancel a card to reapply for it with Chase. You cannot currently hold a card and apply for it. You may be confusing this with Citi where people will apply for a 2nd of the same card while still holding it after 24 months.

Thanks -- not sure why I thought the key thing was only the 24 months since receiving the bonus.

I have this same thought about getting the AmEx Green -- I have run out of things I could plausibly say except I want the bonus MR points . . .

I don't buy a lot on eBay but last year I did buy a fairly expensive item (several hundred dollars) and paid a day after my offer was accepted, because I wanted to buy eBay gift cards at Office Depot. Maybe your buyer is trying to maximize his credit card points

Thanks I’ll have to try that! We are still trying to meet my $5000 MSR by the end of this statement so we can get my bonus points on the CIP. Then we’ll have enough for plane tickets.

So DH was disappointed in the feel of the CSR compared to his AMEX. That Platinum card has a weight to it that nobody seems to be matching. (on the other hand, DD says it takes up too much room and wants her old plastic one back). We're also picky about the graphics on our Disney Visas. Does that make us "card princesses?"

He would’ve loved the Ritz Carlton card before Chase discontinued new signups. Heaviest metal card; beats even the Amex Platinum.

So, there is no limit on charge cards? I seriously don't know which ones I have are charge and which are credit. I don't even know how to tell ???

Thanks @speedyfishy @WVMomof3 and @Albort for the recommendations. I ended up transferring the points to his CIP (I had already moved them to my CSR), then transferring to Marriott. Now just waiting on the points to post in Marriott. Always make me nervous to transfer points. Now I need to start rebuilding my points!

true, but its a pretty big point saving imo, it might be worth the rules.
Economy - ANA = 55k, Virgin = 60k? United = 70k
Biz - ANA = 90k, Virgin = 95k? United = 140k

i guess Virgin is not far off. I think Virgin also lets u book first then transfer your points in too.

They do indeed (Virgin). The problem is having to wait for the flights to appear. ANA gives priority to its own members so you have to hope no one booked them through ANA. I figured United was splitting the difference because you can book one way so you can book before Virgin people. It's a tough decision. I wish I had more of a steel stomach and I would have done the ANA route.

Offhand, that SPG personal card would probably disqualify you from the Marriott Biz/Personal after 8/26. You can get the Marriott Biz/Personal until 8/26 when the new restrictions go into effect, but getting a Marriott Biz/Personal would disqualify you from the SPG Biz (when it gets its points offer back after 8/26) and the SPG Lux.

So just looking at your Starriott options, since you have the SPG personal, (1) you can go for the Marriott Biz now (you can't go for the Marriott personal, right, because you're over 5/24?) before 8/26 for 75k Marriott points, but that would preclude you from the SPG cards after 8/26. Or (2) forget the Marriott Biz now, and wait until after 8/26 when the SPG Biz is expected to come back with a 75k Marriott points offer (effectively, the old 25k Starpoints offer), for something like $3k MSR, and you'd still be eligible for the SPG Lux which is rumored to have a 125k Marriott points offer with a $5k MSR.

Are others having trouble having credit post on sams club Amex offer? I know some have and wondering if it has posted now. @CyndiLouWho? I did the chat today and they said 8 weeks. Gave me flashback to my dealings with Amex on getting Dh’s bonus to post. Maybe I will stop longing for another Amex card...they can be so difficult.

And look we are almost at 2000 pages! Wasn’t it like yesterday we were at 1000?!?

Mine posted yesterday. Although the credit says 28th, the charge itself posted 7/23 (actual purchase 7/20, showed as posted on 7/24, same day the purchase arrived). Their system is wonky.
