I love credit cards so much!

Looking at the benefits changes, and they seem to align with the new benefits of the post 8/1 SPG Biz. Unless you value the 35k free night award on both cards, it might not make sense to keep both.

No SPG Biz in my wallet currently :) Going to see what next month's card brings as far as sign up bonuses and probably get it then.

Email this morning: Thank you for your loyalty as a Cardmember. Beginning August 26, 2018,
your Marriott Rewards® Premier Business Credit Card will
become the Marriott Rewards® Premier Plus Business Credit Card.

Sounds like a forced upgrade with no bonus points.

Yeah, I didn't notice it until recently that the "new" Program Agreement that comes with the card states "Premier Plus". The card is the plain "Premier" business, even says so on the front page of the booklet. But the back page for the Program Agreement is the new one. Everywhere in the booklet is the Premier info for points earnings and 15 nights on the anniversary of the card, etc. (It is mum on the elite night credits from spend. Hubby's statement just closed and I'm waiting for the points to show up to see if we get a night too) So it does not appear that they are really launching a new card like the personal one did, just straight conversions.

ETA: now that I see your screenshot, yea! somewhere in writing about the elite night for spend :). So we'll get a whopping 1 more night since I don't think we're putting another 3k on it in 30 days

Awesome what you were able to do! I don't have access to Lain's spreadsheet :wave2:, so I don't know if you have any UR earning cards. But if you do and you want to use Hyatt again you can transfer 1:1 from UR to Hyatt. Though 1k for 24 bucks is a good deal too.

For fear that this 10% will come off on a starbucks purchase, since that's normally the first stop my mom or I make, I'm going to use it tomorrow and I'll let you know. I need to find a tank to wear for my 8k race that will now be in almost 90 degree weather :sunny::scared: so I'll grab a small gc to try it out. Don't have anything big enough it's worth trying to save it for so I'll be the dp.

I don't have any UR cards right now...i'm lol/24. I wish my wife would play...she hasn't had a new card in about 3 years...so she is 0/24. I'm cooling down for a bit and gonna hit either CSR or a SW card in 2020.

A the benefits changes:

.

I didn't get the email but I just finished the spend on the card yesterday - the last 8.62. Thought I finished last week but obviously couldn't add correctly.

I'm okay with those changes so long as they didn't increase the annual fee. It's headed for the sock drawer unless it develops some benefit I can't pass up. (And may be used to guarantee Marriott rooms.) So the price protection loss is not a problem as is the trip cancellation insurance. I highly doubt I will book anything with Marriott other than award rooms, which are usually cancellable. I don't see any losses.

My cash will continue to go to new cards - hopefully UR earning cards soon!

Also glad to see confirmed on the Marriott Biz that they had come to their senses and gave it the 35k anniversary free night. It's got a higher AF than the others but it was still restricted to the 25k level. :confused3

Ok, if Chase really wants me to upgrade to the IHG Premier credit card they should consider stepping up their game. Obviously the whopping 5000 IHG points (and restricted free night) isn't doing it. This is at least round 2, if not 3, of the emails and mailings I've received... it's still not looking any better guys.

What?! :faint: I need to update the spreadsheet!

:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Yes, don't have one here yet. I had several people pushing me to get it back in the spring with the increased offer, but I'm glad I didn't. I wasn't in a position to handle that MSR at the time. So hopefully there will be something good with the new card next month!

Will need to reevaluate the 4x on all the new categories...have 2 Marriott Biz and 2 SPG Biz between DH and I. 4 free nights is nice, but need to assess how the AFs play into this.

I have 3 cards with annual fees of $85, $95 and $99. I can easily use the nights in my travels even with Marriott's changes and the cost of each room being the under $100 'fee' makes them reasonable to me. Driving down the east Coast into Florida you don't find Marriott rooms for under $100, so for me there are savings to keeping all 3 cards, with the SPG and it's offers being the top pick. Too bad Chase wouldn't expand their offers a bit. Each card will easily save me $50 a night on a room. The 35K point cards will save me closer to $200 plus if I use them in Clearwater, which I am in the habit of visiting as a side trip on my Disney visits.

It all adds up to making my wanderings affordable.

And, I'm waiting to catch that luxury card for other higher point options.

Hmmm, wonder if I can get DH to figure out his vacation in time to use this Best Buy/Hotels.com GC deal. We might add a night to our trip in September, and I was thinking of cashing out more Discover cb for Hotels.com GCs ($90 for $100). Here I could get the $100 gc for $90 with the AMEX offer and cash out Discover if I wanted to pay the bill, and get $10 BB and $7 in Swagbucks... Don't worry I remember I need to spend the full $300 for AMEX, just not sure what the other $200 would be yet.

And I just finished all the Kroger shopping I wanted to do for this month! Got all the fuel points I can handle! At least it's good through August something. I just can't load it until August since my husband stops after work sometimes for odds and ends.
Now I need to make a real grocery plan tonight or tomorrow

Should be interesting to see what Chase/Marriott decides to do with that $99 AF after 8/26. It looks like the Marriott Biz+ will have the same benefits as the SPG Biz, but carries a $99 AF vs. $95 AF, respectively. It likely won't impact me because my first year AF is waived and the Marriott Biz is on the chopping block come renewal time.

They will have to force me to give up my $49 annual fee. No way! Even if they cut the room value further, I would keep the card. Based on the ability to find a way to buy ihg points the 5K are only worth $25-$30 to me, so it doesn't make any sense to go up to an $89 fee card.

I went straight to my Kroger account and scrolled through all the coupons. Missed that there was a direct link in the DoC page. Mine is showing in my Kroger account now. How yours shows up as well! Now to remember not to buy bread and milk on the next shopping trip!

Oh, I do see it under my coupons now. I didn't earlier. Dumb question, but what is with not buying bread and milk? Or do you just mean, don't do a small trip next?

I'm about 99.99999% sure I would take the upgrade to the SW priority card, so I feel impatient looking for an email haha. Am I missing anything here?
  • I just paid $34 for my AF (Plus card) after my retention offer and got my 3k anniversary points
  • They refund 'unused' portion of AF - my AF posted June 1st so assuming I get 9-10mths refunded I'd get $51.75-$57.50 back
  • Charged new $149 AF, so total AFs is $126.50-$132.25
  • I get $75 credit
  • I get 5k points for upgrading (worth $70)
  • As for the boarding upgrades, there's just the two of us and we ended up spontaneously paying for them 3 or 5 times so far this year... still looking at as a perk though instead of monetary value.
Most importantly, I'm just hanging around until I can apply for CIP in October, and then theoretically when we try for DHs companion pass for 2019-2020 I can refer him, same as I'd planned with my plus card. And hopefully the darn bonuses will go up :headache: And my Plus card is only 1 year old, so I don't care about resetting the anniversary date or getting another SW bonus yet.
