I love credit cards so much!

Hi I’m not sure if you have to be holding the CSP to get the referral.....But if you don’t mind sharing why you regret the CSP.......the next card I’m planning to get is the CSP...looked at the CSR...but didnt think it was worth the extra $150 the first year and I want to refer my husband so that would be $300 the only benefit I would use is redemption of UR through chase

Note that you get two uses of the $300 travel credit for one annual fee - you can use the credit when you first get the card, then you can use the credit again when your second AF posts after the first year. Use the credit, then cancel or downgrade the card within 30 days so you don't have to pay the AF. In that sense, you're actually up $150, not down.

Otherwise, the best use is redemption through the travel portal. It's 1.5cpp on the CSR vs 1.25cpp on the CSP. You'll have to do the math to see if your redemption is a better deal with that extra 0.25cpp.

Thanks...you’ve given me a lot to think about...I’ll be applying in August/September just before we meet the spend on my husbands CIP

Well darn LOL

I've thought about that and yes he could. That leads me to ask, though - I just had May 2019 Disney reservation transferred to my Chase account yesterday. If he holds the CSR can I use his points to pay for my reservation? If not, I would have to hope that rebook is available

At this time, household pooling of UR points is available. Things could change at anytime, but yes, this is possible. Have you thought about having your DH double dip both the Sapphires? Then you could refer him for the CSP and still get the CSR. Win win!

I recently transferred my reservation (in DH’s name) and will be using my Chase points. I used Melissa at Chase and she told me no problem. Yours is slightly different but I would definitely call them or email. If not, a rebook would be worth it, if available.

I have considered double dip but not sure I want to venture into bank funding which would be the only way for us to meet MSR. I pooled all of our points to my CSP just recently. Would I be able to re-pool to his hypothetical CSR then pay for the Disney reservation in my name?

I think there also must be some aspect of a total amount NTE x$ not just a % of income. I am well below 50% (somewhere around 25% of total income) and had to shuffle $ for my SW Plus and Marriott. Although my Disney, CSR and SW Premier, I had very healthy ($25k or more credit limits.) So it seems to me mine was not based on % of income but some $ limit.
They are also rumored to top out at 70-90k no matter your income.

Lurker here is surfacing again. I recently applied and was approved for CSP...and immediately felt remorse for not just going for CSR. My first statement hasn't closed yet and Chase wouldn't let me PC (yet?). I am going to request PC after my statement closes and see what happens. However, I think I should refer my DH to CSP before I potentially change to CSR. Will that work? Do I have to be holding CSP to earn referral points?
 Can you have him do a double dip for CSR & CSP? That would be my preference here. Idk when Chase will let you product change to a CSR but make sure you hit MSR & get your bonus first. Wouldn’t want anything to go wrong with that!

I booked rooms for Christmas today and talked to two good people. Crystal at x1118203 booked my first reservation and even looked into getting AP discounts for me, but none were available. Odelia at x1112731 booked the second one and was very proficient. In between these two calls, I talked to a Renesha (sp?), who told me the room I wanted disappeared when booking??? I called back and Odelia was able to book it for me.
I believe Renesha is who booked my August room. I had to ask her to look harder for the room rate I knew was avail (disney discount) because she quoted rack rate at first. Then she found the offer and the price I was expecting. She even got me the dis conf # without me asking.

Hmm... I no longer see Target eGift cards on Gyft...

I suppose one could still by Target eGift cards from GiftCardMall with CIP for 3x UR, or use a REDcard.

For those of us with the Hyatt card, I got an email this morning about Hyatt Visa offers. It's much like the last Chase visa offers - 16 choices, similar to Amex but they expire July 31. I will be using the 10 of 50 at Lowes. Some choices are the Miraval resort in Arizona, Boxed, Etsy, Stubhub, Harry's, Cinemark, and that's all I can think of right now.

Thank you for this! I never receive Chase emails. I would never know about these things without this board. I have tried searching through my preferences, but I have never seen anything to indicate I have emails turned off. I also added the Lowes offer.

My understanding is (1) you can use DH’s points to pay for your reservation in the sense that you can transfer his points to you, but (2) since you’ll hold only the CSP, paying with (husband’s and your) points will still only get you a 1.25x redemption value. You’d likely have to rebook the reservation and attach it to DH’s CSR to get the benefit of a 1.5x redemption value.

I feel like the CSR is our best card. We eat out alot though, and DH travels for work...so we more than make up for the annual fee. If you want to, you could start with the CSP for year one $0, and then upgrade to CSR for year 2 so the difference (after travel credit which is a wash to me) is only $55. And it is even less if you don't yet have precheck since they reimburse for that.
ETA: And of course 1.5x redemption...of course! My coffee hasn't kicked in. :surfweb:

You can still get the referral if you have the link. My CSP referral link still works even though I PC'd it to CF.

Yeah the Double Dip MSR can be hard to swing. 2 things to remember: the CSR is expedited for free with 2-3 business day shipping and Chase usually gives a week or two beyond the 3 months to meet the spend. (You can SM them after approval for the exact date you need to meet the spend by.)

Definitely the 1.5 travel portal redemption. We have Disney vacation next year and would save several hundred at 1.5 redemption.

I transfer all our URs to DH's CSR. When I called to book a dis trip for DD19 and myself, he just had to OK the lady talking to me and then she dealt directly with me and let me book what I wanted without him even listed on the trip at all.
