I love credit cards so much!

I didn’t fill out any form for my transfer. My rep did it I forgot her name maybe Ashley? I spoke to Krystal today and she booked my hotel with the AP rate.

Just so you know if the AP rate comes out and you cancel this reservation it can take 60 days for the points to go back into your account. It really took a week when I cancelled and rebooked for me but they said 60 days. Do you have enough points to book this trip and then if the AP rate comes out would you have enough points to book that while you wait for the refund. If you have enough points I’d still book now and then cancel if the AP rate comes out and just wait for the refund. If you don’t have the points it maybe worth a gamble to wait for an AP rate and just book directly with Chase when that becomes available. Idk how flexible you are and how busy your dates are though.

If you don’t want to gamble trying to get an AP rate I’d try calling back tomorrow and speak to a different rep and check the status. As long as the transfer was initiated within 30 days it should be able to be transferred.i think it took mine transfer about two and half weeks. The rep you spoke to today was clueless. It’s probably still just being processed.

I booked rooms for Christmas today and talked to two good people. Crystal at x1118203 booked my first reservation and even looked into getting AP discounts for me, but none were available. Odelia at x1112731 booked the second one and was very proficient. In between these two calls, I talked to a Renesha (sp?), who told me the room I wanted disappeared when booking??? I called back and Odelia was able to book it for me.

Perfect. Thanks guys. Looking at this on my phone and just did a screenshot so will have names handy!!! I will try calling if don’t get them or someone who is on it right away I will just HUCA.

When I talked to that Renesha she seemed nice but clueless. The guy I talked to after wasn’t even really nice.

I just want it settled since this trip we need the 2 connecting rooms (guaranteed under one room reservation number instead of 2). I also have to stay standard at CBR since my parents are going with us and that is where they are already booked with a pin code and dining plan.

Fingers crossed!

We need to narrow your question, because @kmc8826 was answering as it pertains to Chase.

If you're wondering what's the rule of thumb on what % of income your Chase credit limits should be to increase your chances at automated approval for Chase cards, it's generally recommended to be under 50% of your reported total household income (the income you put on your application) across both business and personal cards -- but only count Chase cards. This rule of thumb doesn't count your credit lines from other issuers like Amex of BofA.

It's not a firm rule, because there are many DPs here of people well over 50% of income on their Chase cards. But as you're being approved for more cards, you may begin to see the credit limits on new cards decreasing, which may be a sign you're reaching the end of what Chase may be willing to extend to you in credit. You may want to proactively reduce credit lines if you want to keep opening Chase cards. Some may suggest leaving credit lines as is so you can offer to move credit to open a new card if you have to recon or your app is stuck at pending. But if you're planning to apply for a biz card or double dip cards and not have to speak to a human with eyes on your account at recon, where you'd offer to move around credit, then you might want to proactively reduce credit lines to improve your chances at automated approval. A good compromise between the two is to proactively lower your Chase credit lines, but leave $5k extra on some card that you can offer to move to open a Visa Signature card like the CSP and $10k extra that you can offer to move to open a Visa Infinite card like the CSR.

If you feel like you're at the edge of what Chase might be willing to extend to you in credit, and want to proactively lower your credit lines to improve your chances at auto approval, send an SM request to do so with enough time for your statement to close for the change to be reported to your credit report, before applying for a new Chase card, or else Chase may see old information on your credit report and count the higher credit limit against you on an application for a new card.
I think there also must be some aspect of a total amount NTE x$ not just a % of income. I am well below 50% (somewhere around 25% of total income) and had to shuffle $ for my SW Plus and Marriott. Although my Disney, CSR and SW Premier, I had very healthy ($25k or more credit limits.) So it seems to me mine was not based on % of income but some $ limit.

Stayed at the Sheraton Park Hotel this past weekend! Rooms are a little outdated, but had a great stay. We were even upgraded to a Park View room! It would have been a great view of the fireworks, but we prefer to be IN the parks when they go off :yay:

We were there at the same time! Gah, it was miserably humid, wasn't it?

I'm just curious, are there any DVC members here with the Arrival+? The dues payment posted on my account as "TIMESHARE," which from my cursory research may or may not be coded as travel. I'm wondering if the Arrival+ miles redemption will work on dues. It would be a nice perk if it does.

I haven't hit MSR yet so at worst I'll be the DP I want to be in a couple months, but I was checking my statement online and it piqued my interest.

All this talk about flight changes got me to check my flights since I hadn't in over a month. My Delta flights changed again but only a couple of minutes so not enough to mess up my valid connection again thank goodness. Alaska changed too, and I'm surprised I didn't get an email since I normally do from them. This one was good too, instead of leaving at MCO at 530pm now it's 655pm. I'll take the extra park time. It's a Saturday so getting in at 1030pm isn't a big deal. Hopefully I'll be able to use one of the PP lounges for dinner.

Your comment just prompted me to go check our flights for this Thursday for any changes. It had changed once but only by 5 minutes. I've been lax about checking since it is a direct flight. We are heading to NYC to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

How we travel hacked the trip:
We used AA gift cards acquired from various credit cards with airline credit perks to purchase the flights. Thanks to the Hilton Aspire we have 2 free weekend nights and are staying at the Hilton Times Square. The Hilton Aspire was one of the credit cards that we used to buy $250 each in AA gift cards and got a statement credit back. The rooms are listed at $260 per night for Hilton Honors members. We are paying OOP for one night, Thursday. Unfortunately by the time I went to purchase Hilton gift cards with the Amex offer, I learned that they would not arrive in time to pay for the one night with them and get 20% off. Still, I am pleased with the value we are getting for the Aspire and the 100,000 points was nice too! We'll see what having Diamond status thanks to the card does for us when we get there.

Lurker here is surfacing again. I recently applied and was approved for CSP...and immediately felt remorse for not just going for CSR. My first statement hasn't closed yet and Chase wouldn't let me PC (yet?). I am going to request PC after my statement closes and see what happens. However, I think I should refer my DH to CSP before I potentially change to CSR. Will that work? Do I have to be holding CSP to earn referral points?

DVC member....but don’t have the Arrival+.....learning a lot here since May....I usually pay all my dues in January ...so my plan right now is to open the Chase CIC in November or December ..then use it at Staples to buy Disney gift cards which will give me 5x URs...then pay my dues with the gift cards...

The CARD Act usually precludes you from product changing before a year.

Hi I’m not sure if you have to be holding the CSP to get the referral.....But if you don’t mind sharing why you regret the CSP.......the next card I’m planning to get is the CSP...looked at the CSR...but didnt think it was worth the extra $150 the first year and I want to refer my husband so that would be $300 the only benefit I would use is redemption of UR through chase

I just PC’d my CSP to CF in June. I called one day before my anniversary date and they made me call back the next day lol. I wish I had PC’d to the CSR instead of the CF. Only because I’d rather get 1.5 (using CSR) on my UR than 1.25 (using CIP) when using the portal to transfer UR for flights.

Yes, that's also an option, although generally when I go the gift card route I buy them from Target for 5% off. Much more valuable to me than URs.

Well darn LOL

Definitely the 1.5 travel portal redemption. We have Disney vacation next year and would save several hundred at 1.5 redemption.

Can your DH apply for CSR?

I've thought about that and yes he could. That leads me to ask, though - I just had May 2019 Disney reservation transferred to my Chase account yesterday. If he holds the CSR can I use his points to pay for my reservation? If not, I would have to hope that rebook is available

For those of us with the Hyatt card, I got an email this morning about Hyatt Visa offers. It's much like the last Chase visa offers - 16 choices, similar to Amex but they expire July 31. I will be using the 10 of 50 at Lowes. Some choices are the Miraval resort in Arizona, Boxed, Etsy, Stubhub, Harry's, Cinemark, and that's all I can think of right now.

I’ll have to look into that...don’t ge to target often...do you have to have a target cc to get the 5% off
