I love credit cards so much!

I transfer all our URs to DH's CSR. When I called to book a dis trip for DD19 and myself, he just had to OK the lady talking to me and then she dealt directly with me and let me book what I wanted without him even listed on the trip at all.
I’m more convinced what OP wants isn’t possible.... I did the same as you for my parents and while stuff was put in my name to manage it, they needed my dad’s permission each time I talked to them (the WDW ticket saga required a few calls) as they were processed via his CSR UR account for the parents and a seperate order was placed on my CSR UR account for me. My concern is OP has already “attached” this res to their UR account?...

@MrsAlexis in your shoes I would call up the agent handling your booking with Chase and ask if you can pay from another UR account or if it has to be your UR account.

I feel like the CSR is our best card. We eat out alot though, and DH travels for work...so we more than make up for the annual fee. If you want to, you could start with the CSP for year one $0, and then upgrade to CSR for year 2 so the difference (after travel credit which is a wash to me) is only $55. And it is even less if you don't yet have precheck since they reimburse for that.
ETA: And of course 1.5x redemption...of course! My coffee hasn't kicked in. :surfweb:

The 1.5 redemption is the what I’m interested in with the CSR...we have precheck..neither of us travels for work...does dining out code 3x on the CSR ? Agree after the first year the $55 difference is no big deal.

What a rabbit hole!!! I thought about it for ages before I pulled the trigger on my Cat 1-5 package. The only trip we have planned that could potentially use a cert (as in, the only week-long trip in the works) would be a hotel that is dropping from a 5 to a 4 in the new system, so there is no upside to attaching my cert. If I can still use it on any hotel up to 25k, great, that works. If they convert to points, even better, because it looks like that stay might be less than 150k all in. If they make it a straight Cat 1-5 in the new system we might head to NYC for a full week and pay cash for the other hotel stay. I wish I were angling to get Bora Bora for a great redemption value, but I just don't have time for any serious glam travel in 2018 or 2019.

I love the CSR! It is a keeper card for both (DH and I). 3 times on dining and travel. It also has better car insurance than preferred if you rent. The 1.5 redemption is huge. If you aren’t going to double dip I would get CSR.

does dining out code 3x on the CSR ?

If dining out requires you to pay at a restaurant or cafe, then yes that earns 3x UR. What usually codes for 3x? Restaurants, including sit down, take out, fast food and drive thru; Starbucks and cafes; bars; bakeries; food trucks; @amalone1013 's vending machine at work; I've even noticed the concession stand at my local movie theater codes as dining.

Thanks...we do dine out a lot..I’ll have to look at my CIP statements to see what is shown as dining

I’ve thought about the double dip..but the only time we would come close to meeting the spend on both cards is early next year when our DVC dues and insurance bills are due and I’m also hesitant to chance my relationship with Chase so I’m ok with missing out on 50,000 UR. A lot of you are much braver than I.

I need help! @speedyfishy, @DaveL and/or whomever else!

Called Chase a week ago Wednesday to move my existing WDW package to Chase and use UR’s. The agent I talked to a Renitia (sp) seemed a little confused but willing. She took the information and said she would fill out the form herself. Based on stuff here I expected an emailed form but she didn’t want my email just a phone number and said she would call when transferred. I have been checking and it is not transferred yet.

I finally had a chance to call again today. Agent I talked too this time said former agent “on break.” But he said that “no way what you are asking cannot be done.” I left a message for Renitia anyway. Still no call.

Any recommendations of who to talk too? You can PM me if easier. It looks like room rate is still available under offer (AP offer not out yet so I haven’t even dealt with that). I guess I could call and try to get them to just book it and cancel what I have now. But I would assume not do that as it is 2 rooms under one reservation.

30 days is coming up Friday. And I really want to use the UR’s to pay for this trip. I just sent a wire transfer for my DVC resale and I am feeling poor. Points are the way to go for this October trip! Thanks...

I am like 20 pages behind but saw the tag so if this is resolved ignore... I worked with Melissa and I think others have now since, if you'd like her contact info its in the Dis reddit page or I can get it tonight (At work no access). I also have her email address if you'd like to email her and have her call you ect. Let me know.

Also, check MDE and see if you still have a "Make a Payment" option on your reservation, this gets removed right when Disney has moved the reservation to Chase. However there is no sign that Disney is actually processing it.

Just so you know if the AP rate comes out and you cancel this reservation it can take 60 days for the points to go back into your account. It really took a week when I cancelled and rebooked for me but they said 60 days.

Wow, Melissa canceled mine while I was on the phone and within seconds I had the points back to move to the new reservation. Went from a rack rate to a bounce back w/dinning only booked while on site.

I’m curious as to why you both keep it vs getting the $75 Authorized User card?

Probably just stubbornness in sense that seems dumb to pay for AU card. Also lazy. I want to keep mine and the CSR is DH’s only personal Chase card. Maybe I should think about it. But he wouldn’t do the categories for freedom and eventually I will get him a personal FU and I want the bonus (and referral) for that. Also we wouldn’t do the replacement card trick as neither of us feel comfortable with that. He spends a lot on dining. Sad but true.

@Judique on the Hyatt Visa offers thank you! I just added the Lowe’s one. It says when you add it not valid for gift cards. Have you found that to be true for the third party gift cards like Disney? Or are they just talking store cards.

OK I'm all over the place this morning....Can't seem to settle my brain down thinking about all of this! What exactly qualifies someone for a business card? I am a finance (credentialed) professional, and although I work for a firm as an employee, it is customary for my credentials to be self-employed. I occasionally do work on the side, but nothing reportable for tax purposes. No other "business ventures" other than occasional sales of household goods on local buy-sell-trade sites - again, nothing reportable. How strict are the requirements here? I see you have to report annual revenues - what is the minimum to report and get approved?

I truly don't know but I'm going by there after 12, so we'll see what pops up in a day or so.

You definitely have enough to have a “business” with Chase. They just make the business side of it so specific it is a little scary. You don’t need to have a business with a tax number, you can use your social. I was approved for the Ink Preferred with $50 as revenue. They called on it though and it was painful, but the part they had problem with is my overall credit with Chase not the business itself. He said something like “we understand it is a start up.” I was approved but only with a $5000 limit.

Hi...don’t know if there are any minimum amounts...
I’ve applied and been approved for two business cards..the Chase Ink Preferred CIP and SW business.

I’ve been selling stuff on eBay for the past 10 years...income from business ranges from $1,000 to $20,000 per year.
On my CIP application in May I put 2017 income..$5,000 for business...Chase also asks for your total household income.

If your going to apply remember to put your name and SS number as the business name and EIN

Has anyone noticed an influx in 'Business Services' mail after applying for the CIC/CIP? I have had a business for the past 10 years and really never received much business level mailings but now since receiving the CIC/CIP I have gotten 4~6 mailings suggesting new business services. Guess they sold my name to make up the sign-up bonus.

so.... advice re the Lowes amex deal..... I have this on my card, and I got a PowesPro mailer with $15 off a 4150 purchase in store, but si
Thanks! With your good DP's I went ahead and ordered all I needed last night and I did get them about 3 hours after ordering them. Just now placed my order online with them too :)
I'm tempted to buy these too but I'm still trying to spend 1k at Lowes for that offer on my other card! what does Lowes sell that I need????? I need to get going on all of this- I see topcashback has 6% back offer on lowes.com, but says no gc purchase.... any DP's on this? i.e. it might actually post with a store gc purchase? or..... can I use an e-gc from STaples to purchase lowes branded gc? or is that against the rules.....

Good to hear! I was having second thoughts after reading about the UR points taking so long to post after cancelling a reservation. We spent lots of points yesterday for Christmas week and I am already thinking of changing it around!

DH and I both have the CSR and I have been wondering if I should keep mine or not. It makes the most sense for DH to have it if we only have 1. The only benefit I can see for keeping it is if we travel as a family and want to use PP since they now restrict how many you can bring in. Though as an AU don't I also get the PP and could still do this? Can't remember. Obviously we all say not to add as AU because it affects your card count, but now wondering if I add myself to a 2 year old card, does that not count against me?

Dining out does code 3x. Like you though, the big draw to the CSR is the 1.5 redemption. That has saved us way more than $55 every single year so far. In fact, we've saved in the hundreds just on that alone. We rarely eat out so the dining coding isn't a big deal to us.

We both had the CSR also. I decided to keep dh's (got myself a replacement card, which has worked 100% of the time for me) and after getting the $300 travel credit last Dec, I promptly bought a SW GC and then closed my card. My 24 mos to apply again is this November but I think I will try a DD with the CSR/CSP which means I have to wait until March 2019 (24 mos past CSP). SO...no Chase cards for me for awhile...:(
