I love credit cards so much!

Thanks. Do we pay the fee before the points will post? And then its refunded? I feel like this is something I should know!
I just did this last week. My 79.99 AF charge showed on statement. I waited till the tenth when my points showed up on my Southwest acct. Then I called Chase . Asked if there was a retention offer. She said she could give me $70.00 statement credit. I did not pay the 79.99. Which I did take. First time I have called for a retention. Ive heard some people hold out or cancel but she did say that any points on the anniversary would be taken off, even though that contradicts what I have heard. I figured $9.99 for 3000 points would work. Maybe i will be bolder in future but Im still learning this hobby.

What sw card did you have with a $79.99 fee? I thought they were $69 and $99. I have not heard any DPs of them retracting the points once they hit your RR account. I hope they don’t start doing that.

:offtopic: but I can't find the old threads and I think a few of you fine folks have an Instapot. I'm wondering if I got an ok deal on one. Amazon kind of surprised me with it just now as a deal of the day, the Instant Pot DUO60 6 Qt 7-in-1 for $58.99+tax (down from 99.95). It was within my threshold so I threw it in the cart and then checked out. Now I'm second guessing since I didn't research it exhaustively :) Does that seem like a decent deal?
I was planning to get one as a few people I know suggested it and I was just waiting for big sale day, but I didn't realize there were so many models out now. Seems like every few months they throw another button on there so it can now be a "20-in-1" device :p I thought maybe for the Back to School push I might snag a deal on a previous model and just forgot about Prime Day.

I have one...it is a couple years old, so no bluetooth etc. Mine is a DUO 6qt too. I believe I paid $70. You'll love it!

I'm not much help as I haven't bought one. But I have looked at prices and your price sounds good.

Enjoy whatever you create in it!

ps- their site is crashing now. :headache: I need a 2nd air fryer and was hoping they'd have one cheap today.

Yeah, it wouldn't let me checkout. It was a few minutes after 3pm and it gave me a 'high volume, try again in a few seconds' message a couple times until I could check out. First I was glad it wasn't a lightning deal and then I wondered what they heck I was missing out on while futzing with a kitchen appliance

I can't even get into the site right now. I get a "prime day" page with a button that says "shop all deals" but when you press that it just takes you to another page with categories and another "shop all deals" button. Press that one and you go back to the first page, they have a good loop going on. Hopefully it rights itself shortly, I think I was watching something that comes up in about 10 minutes. Guess I'll futz some more...

It’s this kind of BS that made me move to free shipping (with shipping added into the BIN price) on almost all my listings.
Me also. I do free shipping just to simplify. I just guestimate shipping. I use to just pick random areas east coast, west coast and texas, since I am in midwest. Having done it for awhile I am better at guessing. And the last two years I have used USPS almost exclusively.

Is there any way to pay with points at a Hilton hotel when I have an existing cash reservation already booked? Thanks to someone kindly using my Hilton referral link, I now have enough points to pay for one night of my DL stay! Wondering if I need to call and see if they can apply points to my already existing reservation or if they could do it at the front desk?

PSA Gyft users and Target shoppers:

So I came upon a new issue when trying to use Gyft to purchase a Target e-gift card. The Target gift card no longer comes delivered with an Event Number.

I purchased a Target gift card in line as I was about to pay, cashier scanned the barcode and her register prompted that it needed an Event Number. Cashier could not apply the gift card without an Event Number. The new e-gift cards don't come with an Event Number. The old ones did. I reached out to Gyft, and they replied:

"We apologize for any inconvenience. In order to obtain the event number, Target is now requiring that the gift card is registered online on Target.com or to download the Cartwheel app and register the gift card there."

I haven't gotten around to registering the Target gift card yet, but this is one added hassle if you're thinking about buying a Target gift card on your way to pay.

I have never used Gyft. But am fed up with how difficult it is becoming to use Target cards. The last time I tried to use "free ones" I earned from swagbucks, etc. I did load them onto my Target app. Then when I check out and scanned them from the app I had to have a code emailed to me. So scan barcode, click email me code, check email.....I had several cards and it was a pain. I do not plan to earn "free" target gift cards anymore.

One of the Target bloggers I follow bought that one and promoted it on fb, so I'm guessing it's a good one and a good deal.

It's the Target app, there's no separate carthweel app anymore. But I would hesitate to do this simply because I'm still waiting for the email with the event codes for the gc I uploaded to the Target app back in like Jan or Feb :) I ended up having to pull them up from swagbucks because those have the pin. Now if there's a way for you to do it on their actual website and get the number and screenshot it or something that would work. I always read the numbers off to the cashier rather than giving them my phone anyway.

Update: Called Hilton to see if they could make this work. They couldn't, but it seemed to be only because our room type was already sold out and we didn't book the type of room where you can do a sliding scale of points/cash. No big deal as I'll earn triple points paying with my Hilton card for my stay anyways and was already planning on doing that.

Before I hung up, the agent asked if I wanted to earn 500 points by listening to an offer from Hilton vacations. She transferred me to a nice guy who talked to me about Hilton Vacation properties in Orlando for a couple minutes. It was actually a good deal, $199 for 4 day/3 night stay in one of their 14 Orlando properties, and you have to listen to the timeshare presentation of course. I didn't take them up on it, but he said I should see 500 Hilton points appear in my account soon for listening to his spiel. So it was worth the phone call!

Just snagged some BOSE QC25's for $70. Great deal if you have the Amex 20% as it is calculating the 20% off list - so prime day deal is $125 then Amex 20% takes off another $55. And even then I paid with discounted Amazon gift cards acquired with the Amex 20%. Very happy with that deal - just hope it ships.
