I love credit cards so much!

I screenshotted the coupons. I wonder if they’ll still work.

According to the Target thread it will. I screen-shotted mine yesterday too, hoping it will still work. I got the $20 off of $50 purchase coupon, and so did DH. We shop at Target A LOT since it's the closest grocery store to our house so I really hope so!

When I texted for the coupons they sent me a message to call a phone number. I didn't bother calling.

No biggie for me. I really didn’t need to be spending any more money. Savings, resell, or otherwise. I have a closet full of deals that I’ve bought from TRU, Best Buy, Target and Amazon that I still have to list. My closet is literally is full of toys, tech, corrugated boxes and other packing supplies. It may collapse on my poor wife at any time. Those and all the gift cards I’m buying because of Walgreens, Staples, Lowe’s deals and now Best Buy and Bed Bath & Beyond have me floating a lot of cash in inventory and gift cards.

I did some closet clean-outs this weekend and listed some things on ebay -- several unopened toys that my kids (now adults) had gotten as gifts over the years, plus assorted odds and ends that someone might be willing to pay something for. Whatever doesn't sell is going in the garage for the fall community garage sale, and whatever doesn't sell there is getting donated. I'm happy to have things not falling off the closet shelves now, and if I can convert any of it to cash, that's a bonus.

Okay - really off topic - does anyone know of any social security blogs or message boards that are not run by SSA themselves or by lunatics who want to rail against social security?

I did find one from some guys in Colorado - Jim Saulnier. Fairly helpful.

Not looking for the disability boards - not disabled.

I am educating myself as I haven't bothered to file yet. My FRA is 66 but I may wait longer since it appears I have another option as a divorced spouse.

I can't get annoyed at things like this because one, I don't know if I was even supposed to be able to text for the coupon. I did for the 20 off 50 and 1 15% to use later, which whatever with that anyway. I don't have the extra money to spend now.

But the second reason is because I've been able to take advantage of things before the whole internet knew before. Got free/super cheap Omaha Steaks box with burgers and steak several years back. I used to frequent a freebies website and got all kinds of great deals there but it's not worth following any more because there either aren't deals, isn't stuff I want or they go too fast.

It is frustrating when stuff like this happens and companies should realize beforehand and prevent it from happening, especially the way things spread online. The build a bear thing I think had way more people taking their kids than they thought would on a random Thursday. Given what happened I think t they handled it best they could and the new birthday bear is cute, however that's probably the way they should have done it to begin with. However, no one was talking about them before last week and now there's a ton more people talking about them so even bad publicity can be good publicity.

Last off topic, and a lesson that all businesses should remember, that at one point a lady got to buy a car with almost 1400 bananas in the 60's.

I get what you are saying but I just disagree with taking a coupon away from a customer when they have already issued it. Target isn't known for great CS and this is just another example of that.

Not much help but I thought they closed that loophole. But maybe you were grandfathered in. I know it won’t work for me (in another 25 years or so).

For the CIP referral bonus, does the person need to meet the MSR before the bonus posts, or just be approved for the card?

One amex offer I don't think I saw mentioned here was the Zappos offer. $20 off $100. Now if only they had made this one a little higher like $60 off $300. I love Zappos!

I am so frustrated. So, I applied for CIP early in the month. Got the 7-10 days. Called Recon and was denied. Waited for the letter and "too much credit and cards open with us". I called Recon again. Advised that I just closed one account and lowered the credit on another. We talked for a while and she said she was going to recommend I get approved. So, waited and kept calling and today I got the 7-10 days again...

So, I called again to see why. They said I had too much credit extended with them and others. With Chase it is 53,000 (less than half of household income). He said that I already opened a business card in February (Marriott Business) and that amount is for $5000 when I only have sales of $2500 (which is what I put down for ebay sales). He also mentioned my HELOC that we had open. It is closed as of a few weeks ago but they took that as having too much credit available.

So, now do I lower my Credit Limits even lower and close the Marriott Business Card and then wait a few more months and apply again... Seems everyone else has no problem getting multiple business cards. Just can't figure it out.

I am 4/24 with the last card open was the Marriott Business in February (besides AMEX Business Cards)

Its if you were born before 1954. I'm a 1953 baby.

Just approved.
Arrrrrggggghhhhh - I think we've missed out on another bonus in that case. Remember my sister that got the 7-10 day notice and then had to provide proof of address? That referral never posted! So now my bonuses that I've missed out on for one reason or another:

SPG Biz
Fidelity
CIP
Plastiq

I'm about to give up.

I did not get that one. :-(

It can take 2-3 weeks after approval for a Chase referral bonus to post. They usually post on Tuesday afternoons. Check again tomorrow.

Darn my lack of MRs. I would buy a Kindle for that price, since i cracked the screen on my LG tablet and it doesn't sense half the screen anymore

Stayed at the Sheraton Park Hotel this past weekend! Rooms are a little outdated, but had a great stay. We were even upgraded to a Park View room! It would have been a great view of the fireworks, but we prefer to be IN the parks when they go off :yay:
