I love credit cards so much!

Did anyone receive an email from BoA for sending out support links for the new checking account offer? It was targeted. Get $25/person they get a $150 checking account offer. If so can you post on our MISC thread there that you're willing and able to send links? We can use reddit PM for the necessary info for it. I'd love to hit up this offer so I can try to get in BoA's good graces for a cc later this year after I was hard denied their biz cc. I'll use the person on DoC if I have to but I'd love to use one of you :) DoC write-up https://www.doctorofcredit.com/bank-of-america-150-checking-bonus-25-per-referral/

I did not get targeted for this promo, but I just finished a targeted BoA $4000DD/$300 bonus, and it was great. The bonus posted as soon as my statement closed following meeting the requirements. No waiting required. I had the Amtrak card before opening the account, so I don't know if that made a difference. Was auto-approved for a biz cash $500 MSR/$200 bonus after opening the checking account too. And I understand BoA won't give you any grief for closing the checking right away, so you can churn it again later.

No rumor, it is $450 fee. Details are out for the Lux, just can't apply yet: https://www.spgpromos.com/amexcomingsoon/
hmmm looks like if its timed right you could get this card, and possibly 3 free nights at swolphin for the fee. (I'm thinking of use year vs. calendar year for the $300 credit, and what counts for the credit) I still see SPG as swolphin stays so I know my view is narrow

Considering what others went through my hsbc opening last year was pretty easy, just slow. My irk was the bonus. After 8 weeks or whatever the wait was I messaged them about the bonus and they told me "it says APPROXIMATELY 8 weeks" bonus showed up like a week later. They're just a slimy bank, you can get a bonus out of them, it can just take extra work :)

Yeah, super slimy. I may even give up the $25 in early termination fee and close the account as soon as I've earned the bonus, but if it really takes that long to get the bonus, I might as well wait out the 180 days.

Hey, don’t knock tiny airports. I had one of the coolest airport experiences of my life at the tiny Amarillo airport watching this take off. (Ignore the date on the picture). View attachment 336659

I have pics on a phone somewhere of the Discovery flying low over my job when they brought it in to Udvar-Hazy!

That's alright.....I can expand and say 2 free nights by using it at the beach in Clearwater.

That's awesome! This was the Atlantis heading back to FL. It was pretty cool, I got that picture as we were driving up to the airport. As we were walking up to security where they have this big glass wall behind them, we heard people start cheering and looked and it was taking off. Pretty neat stuff!

Yes, I'm one of those geeks who can spend days looking at this stuff. I edited my post to add in that my sighting was Discovery after the Smithsonian acquired it.

:teacher:
Driving home takes me 7-8hrs each way and $120 in gas.

I can fly directly into Lincoln on United for 20k miles plus $160 RT, and rent a car for $40-$60

I can fly to Omaha on Frontier for 10k-15k UR pts depending on the day and rent a car for $115, but will spend probably 3-4hrs driving to Omaha and back and a bit more on gas for the rental.

Or I could fly into Omaha on Frontier for 5200pts and out of Lincoln on United for 10k miles plus $80, and rent a car for $160-$250.

Decisions, decisions... what is my time worth? I think any of those scenarios lol.

$120 plus 2 days of driving vs $210 and no driving. Well, I know what camp i’d Be in.

@SouthFayetteFan where in captiva are you staying? I hear good things about captiva/sanibel and am on the hunt for a good beach vaca. We love Sandestin, but have that booked for October. Need something new for later in the year.

Need help from you churners...name your favorite Marriott/SPG Resort. Looking for a nice place to redeem our package. We love the beach but are open to other things. Want a resort atmosphere and lots of things to do. Anywhere SW flies is a plus, but open to other places. Kid ages 2, 8, 10 (maybe 19 too). TrVeling from Nashville, so nothing in bora bora etc.

My southwest flights for November were changed this morning from a non-stop getting in at 1015 to a lay over land 12:40, on hold now seeing if at least I can get them moved to the non-stop that gets in at 11:35 hoping they will do it without a fee...first time I've ever had a flight flat out cancelled and not just moved by a half an hour, but seems super strange they didn't just move us to the 2nd non-stop flight that gets in sooner...not a welcome email this AM.

No real churning news lately, just trying to maximize spend on my current cards as I await likely a double dip for SW later this year. Working on my first bank bonus...and looking into what my next one will be.

Oh no! I’ve never had a sw flight change other than by a couple mins. Hopefully they will accommodate you. That change is unacceptable.

I will be really upset if that happens to us in October.

Never had this happen either! Completely bizarre for SW to do this. Hopefully not a new trend with them!!

I got an email as well for my December flight...but the only thing that changed was the flight number..
Hopefully they will move you to the non stop flight

Since I'm just back from Hilton Head, I will say that I do like the Westin Hilton Head. We didn't stay this trip but we usually spend a couple of nights there. It's a bit stuffy, but I barely notice. They've got nice pools and of course the fabulous for little kids beach. As for things to do on the Island, eat, eat, and play mini golf, go horse back riding on the sand, go to the movies, dolphin watching cruises, kayaking, fishing excursions, tons of golf, shop, eat some more (about 250 places to eat) tour historical areas, do a turtle walk, take side trips to Savannah and Charleston. Tour the two nature preserves - I think these are better in cooler weather. Go to Shelter Cove for fireworks in summer and take little kids to see Shannon Tanner sing and play songs geared to them on an open air stage. Shop and eat there, while you stroll along the yachts. I also noticed they are now renting these little personal sized boats that carry one or two people and are not seadoos. They looked interesting. There are also numerous Marriott properties here but I've never stayed at one.
