I love credit cards so much!

Has anyone recently gotten the Citi AAdvantage Business card? Increased offer of 70,000 miles for 4k spend and no annual fee the first year. Tentatively interested in it but not sure when the offer ends/how easy it is to get approved for Citi business.

How long does it take to transfer SPG points btwn spouses?

i just saw a post asking the same question, ppl say it took 3 days there...
i also came across this too...

Will there be a post-August policy for points transfers between members?

Points transfer will continue to exist as it does today. Members can share points with any Rewards member they choose. Members can transfer 1,000-50,000 points per year.

may be a good idea to transfer as much over to one account as possible. This was posted by a Starwood lurker.

He did say something like that... I have Chase accounts for a very long time. I have my Disney Chase Card which I got when it first came out. So not new to Chase. But very frustrating... I just applied for the AMEX BRG in the meantime and got approved for that, so at least I can use that for carpeting and will reapply for CIP in a month or so. After closing/lowering limits on cards etc.

Oh and I have only ever had Organic Spend on my cards....

This is making me think I should reduce credit limits 2-3 months prior to applying and also wait a month after cancelling cards as well...I’ve got 2 chase business cards, but will be cancelling the SW business in November...will probably wait until Dec/Jan to apply for the CIC

No go on DHs Platinum  Just said they'd do the standard 60k offer. Bummer but I wasn't getting my hopes up too much. Now to decide what to do instead. Apparently he drops off his car Monday. He thinks. Do I remember? No, I was not there...

HUCA?

and this is why I can't decide if we pool all our points into one or just deal with them separate. I can't come up with a good reason for separate other than I hate all my eggs in one basket. but the only other way I know to get around the 50k limit on Marriott is calling for the spouse transfer when booking a reservation; which is inconvenient. so i'm considering transferring all my SPG into hubby's account so that the bulk of points is easy to use, and then just deal with bits and bobs from using my SPG card later. on the other hand if we both have decent balances, then we don't have to worry about what to do with stranded points as we'd just make separate reservations and figure out how to combine them (rather than combining points first). decisions decisions.

I called and booked the Cat 6 plus 100k RR points. I was on the phone for a total of 30 minutes, most of which were on holding waiting for a representative to help me. When I finally spoke with someone, I'm pretty sure this was the first package he has booked. He had no clue what he was doing, and at first he told me it was going to be 510k Marriott points! I can see the 7-night certificate in my Marriott account, but don't see the RR points in my SW account yet.

This sounds exciting! I see several people making trips to Japan in the future. What is going on over there? What is Thomson
family Adventures? Was it cheaper going through them than planning with points/miles. I would love to go to Japan but around family members they want Paris/Spain first.

So sorry for the delay in responding to this post. My family just got back from a 10+ day trip to Peru (with National Geographic Adventures), and (gasp!) I wasn't reading the DISBoards while we were traveling. (I also see that I have 90 pages on this thread to catch up on, and growing every second that I'm not reading!) For us, Japan in 2020 is about my DD turning 18 and also potentially dovetailing with the Olympics. Thomson Family Adventures is a group travel company, similar to Adventures by Disney, National Geographic Expeditions/Adventures, Tauck Bridges, Austin Adventures, etc. They offer a variety of itineraries in various places around the world that are fully guided (and in the case of Thomson and Nat Geo, small) trips. It is definitely NOT cheaper going through Thomson or any of the companies I've listed above (which all fall into the upscale/luxury travel category) than doing a trip fully on your own, but we have found (after 6 of these types of trips now) that they suit us based on not having to do all of the planning (we usually add 2-3 days on our own to these trips, and that is frankly enough travel planning for me), having guides and personnel to handle logistical issues (which removes so much stress) and access to sites, experiences and restaurants that we either wouldn't know about and/or find if we were traveling on our own or that we might not even have access to on our own. We do, however, use points/miles to book our air for all of these trips, which is how we make them fit into our budget.

So bummed. Just got denied on the CIP. I applied Tuesday and just got the dreaded 7-10 day notice. So, I called recon to see what they say. Says I have too many cards open in a short amount of time. Here is what I have:

AMEX SPG Business - 4/2018 (so they should not be able to see that)
Chase Marriott Business 2/2018
AMEX SPG - 12/2017
Chase SW Business - 6/2017
Chase SW Plus - 6/2017

I thought I would be good to go. I plan on closing both SW cards - was waiting on yearly points to post before doing that. I need a card ASAP as we need to get carpet ordered while promo still on and that is about $4000 right there. I will apply again after cancelling some cards. Think I should cancel the Marriott Business and SPG too??
Did you HUCA? My dad was told that as well even though he was under 5/24. Eventually he was able to find out Chase had extended their max credit limit to him and he had to shift credit lines around for it but that first phone rep was lousy.

If you have a 5 year credit history it's stupid easy to get approval. I have one!

Can someone please give me the lowdown on Alaska’s CC? We don’t fly a ton, usually a few times a year. Is it worth getting? Looks like there’s a fee. How does the companion fare work? Is it one free ticket per year?

I can't say if it's worth it for you, but if you always fly those few times a year on Alaska then not having to pay for bags for one person on two round trips would cover the annual fee. If there are others traveling on the same rez then it would be quicker. I've never used the companion fare because I usually fly alone and often don't fly the same airline both directions because I'm more interested in non stops and flight times than staying on the same airline round trip. And between the 3 I normally fly I can usually get what I need.

I got this card for the miles, it's sock drawered unless I'm paying for a flight on Alaska.

No. Maybe I should call again tomorrow and see if I get a different answer...

Life is chugging away in the world, wow!

OK, so FREAKING AMAZON I HATE THEM. But I'm glad y'all are getting that $100 off $500 offer working, that takes my edge off a bit knowing others are actually getting it to work. I'm able to enroll but then when I put everything in my cart and pay with a point, nothing is subtracted from the total. $499.99 is what I'm quoted no matter what I put in that cart. The extra irritating part? There's a banner on like every other Amazon page advertising the offer. I'm ready to throw something, I really need to let this one go. (Even enrolled in a free trial of Amazon Prime- guess I get to watch some movies now though!)

Where's the discussion on the Arrival Plus coming back? Anyone diving in?! Lots of dps on Reddit, a few on DoC and 6/24 is mostly being enforced. I've got 4 people linked on my list in the reddit saying they were approved at 6/24 or higher but that's it (15/24, 6/24, 9/24, over 6/24). Lots of denials coming out. Links to approvals: https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/c...al_plus_60k_offer_now_live/e1upwed/?context=3
I closed mine last month so too early to try again and I'm definitely over 5/24 anyway!

Fidelity money came in for me and parents on Mon. Oddly enough I funded $200 into each of the two accounts and Fidelity issued 4 $25 bonuses on each. Like- why?! Whatever, FREE MONEY! Except I'm too afraid to touch it since they seem very confused on when it's ok to touch that money...

I'm just barely getting going on my Hilton Ascend MSR but I want another credit card. I have a problem. (And my mom has a problem too now! Just today I told her about Barclay A+ coming out again and she wants to know if she can cancel her 10 month old one and reapply and get the bonus again. Me "maybe but it would put you over 5/24 and you were going to go under that in Dec and go for another CIP" Mom "whatever, I'm so over that 5/24, move on."... I'm not advising her to try to hit the A+ again, told her everything I've seen says you need more time between closure and re-application but it was really funny seeing her totally ready to blow through 5/24 and move on with her credit card life.)
