You've shipped golf clubs? I kept telling my grandpa this weekend we were going to come up with a side business, because he stays in AZ during the winter in a retirement community and he picks up a ton of almost new golf clubs for under a couple bucks each, and hundreds of free golf balls from a friend. Sometimes if he ends up with ones he doesn't want, and has no one to give them to, he sets them out at his neighbor's garage sale and sells them for a few bucks more than he paid... I told him he needs to pick up a bunch this winter and we would have a sale up in NE or CO next spring

I have three uncles who all buy clubs off ebay regularly. Good money to be made there!

Grrr...Fidelity locked my account and the customer service rep had me on hold for quite a while. When she came back and started listing all the things I needed to fax/mail to verify my identity. I told her no way and to redeposit the money I had put in the accounts. She has yet to call me back --I think my testiness threw her off...four days without a/c in the summer in Florida and I'm just not in the mood. Guess bank accounts aren't in my future after all:guilty:

I had to verify my and dh's accounts when I logged in today. Wonder why yours got locked?

When is your A/C getting installed?

Yes...my husband and son play, so every now and then when they get a new club I’ve sold the old....since USPS considers the box they have to be shipped in oversized UPS has been cheaper....haven’t sold one in over a year so not sure it that’s changed.
That’s great your grandpa gets golf clubs and balls free or for a couple of bucks...the golf balls would be easy to sell and ship.

When is your A/C getting fixed?

Wish I knew why...but the idea of sending bank account statement and my driver's license to a fax number "Oh it's secure" doesn't sit too well...

My side of the house is being replaced as we speak (5 hours down, around 2 more, they think, to go). DD's side of the house went out last night around 11 pm and they won't be out to fix that one (which is only a year old) until tomorrow. So I am hot, cranky and just in a foul mood.

OTOH, my MQD waiver for Delta will be hit in about 2 hours so there's that!

He didn't quite believe me :) But yup, his friend works for a course down there, and when they pick up balls from the driving range they get rid of any that aren't that course's logo... so my grandpa hands them out by the dozens in egg cartons. He golfed yesterday morning with DHs aunt and gave her 6 dozen, and said he's got about 25 dozen back in AZ! He's got balls coming out of his ears!

I'd be cranky too with all that going on!

And you have to specifically ask that the tickets come from Disney directly, right? So as to not risk a situation like @gottalovepluto got herself into. I'm wanting to do this for next year's WDW tix so paying close attention!
quite behind here so idk if this has already happened but you are correct! Specifically make sure the tickets are purchased direct from Disney. If the cruise and tour rep insists it's not possible HUCA because it is.

never played but i got a set too!

Cousin grew up and had a kid... transferring golf club to the next bachelor in the family... XD
i got his snowboard too!
My grandpa tried to teach me and my sister with a kid's set he got from a friend... passed them along to another friend when we didn't take to it :)

But I did pick up some skills for my putt putt golf game :thumbsup2:

u bring your golf clubs to miniature golf? that would be a classic picture! :D

So weird how this is very different for us. We only have the BCP that my dh is an AU'er on so only that card to base our experience on but we almost always only get the offer on one card or the other. And my dh is the AU'er and he is the one to usually get the offer.

Well, she was taking classes through concurrent enrollment during her senior year so the school district was picking up the bulk of the tab. We only paid a small portion but I did happen to have MSR's to meet at those times. For this fall, we will be paying all of the tuition so I'm still thinking through which card I will use (guessing I will have a MSR since I am rarely without) or I may do the CIP/Plastiq route since that would be a better earner than just 1% on any other card. I don't have the CFU anymore.

You may have a use for your BCP after all, depending on how much you're paying for tuition. If you max out BCP at King Soopers on $500 VGCs, then use those VGCs to make payments to dd's school...

Good thinking! Except...my AF hit and I PC'ed to the no-AF BCE :o I don't even have my new card yet. I just did it a couple days ago. Even the 3% would be better than other options...especially combined with fuel rewards...!

ETA: I guess I could change the card back if that ends up being the best way to pay.

And don't forget the plaid pants and cap!
Or you can be more of a Happy Gilmore type and arrive with a hockey stick instead.

I think I screwed up. :guilty: I got a letter from Chase today saying my CIP was denied b/c of too many cards opened in the past 24 months. I thought I was only at 3/24 so I was really confused. I knew I had some more that I was just an AU on, but I asked my DH to remove me from them and I thought they went away but now I see they are listed as "Closed" but still on my credit report. I SWEAR I looked at this before.. this divorce must be making me more crazy than I thought. I can't believe I goofed on that after all the research and thinking I did.

So anyway, trying to figure out what to do now. I will be at 5/24 in January, and then not 4/24 until April. Unfortunately the furniture I was planning to buy to meet any MSR's needs to be purchased way before then. :sad1: Plus I was trying to earn free flights for our trip to WDW in February. What do you guys recommend? I remember someone saying that their DH wrote to all three credit bureaus asking them to remove the AU cards... I could try and do that if someone could tell me exactly how to go about that? Or should I give up on Chase and try something else... American Express? I have been so focused on Chase I don't really know anything about the other cards out there. I currently have a Barclay Arrival card, a Disney VISA and an AA Citibank Mastercard. Like I said my main problem is that any major spending I am going to do is going to happen in the next few months. My credit is still looking in the "exceptional" range so that's good news.

Any advice? I am so bummed and can't believe I didn't see that before when I remember going in to check. :charac2:

Fastest MSR met for us. Got the Marriott Biz from UPS this afternoon. Within 20 minutes got it setup online and then paid the balance of the roof off.
I think we're done with MSR's for a little while. The plan was supposed to use the new cards to build up points, but the instant gratification of the bonus is a little addicting. I can see why some choose to just always have one. I had a little anxiety the other day thinking I didn't have any spends to meet or lined up to meet; then I realized that was fine it was part of the plan :)

Not sure if the no-AF version is churnable, but the A+ definitely is

My understanding is that you can't have an A+ or no fee arrival if you re-apply for the new A+. I downgraded mine in February and am keeping it to have a no fee chip/PIN for the occasional European train machine/McDonalds ordering queue :) Everything I've read says to drop it if I decided to get a new A+. Of course, that could have changed in the past 5 months when I've been out of the acquisition game :teeth:

your only option is call and plead your case. Ask them to look past your AUs if you believe those are the reasons it is stopping you from getting it.
if they say no, HUCA(hang up, call again) tomorrow. try a few times, if this does not work, dispute the closed card on your credit report. then apply again after the app drops.
