You should call recon to get the CSP approved, but personally I might give it a few hours and hope the phone reps change shifts in the meantime. Since you called recon to get your first app approved, there’s a chance you might get the same phone rep if you call too soon to get the second app approved. Lol.
Reposting some of the advice I posted for
@1st*toright this morning when she successfully completed a Sapphire double dip.
It seems the second app for a CSP almost always goes pending because of a credit line issue. Assuming the applicant already has other credit cards with Chase, then Chase gives them a huge credit line on the CSR (as they often do), it doesn't leave much for the CSP.
You need to get the CSP approved on the same day as the CSR before Chase's system updates with the CSR and denies the CSP for already having a Sapphire product.
When you call in, mention you’re calling (only) about the CSP application, and ask what can be done to move the application towards approval. It's likely a credit line issue, in which case you’ll want to have a card in mind with enough credit that you can offer to move from that card to open the CSP.
Obviously, you'd don't really want to move credit from the CSR and draw attention to it. We think the Chase phone reps have the ability to “see” a recently approved CSR in their system, but most won’t notice that kind of detail or don’t know about the one Sapphire rule and shouldn’t give you any problems. There are also DPs where the reps can be talked into pushing the CSP application through despite the earlier approval. If the rep does mention the CSR, and asks why we need the two cards, a lot of us just say we want to separate expenses.)
