I love credit cards so much!

Thanks! Her mailing address is a PO Box, so she put both the PO Box and the physical address in different parts of the app, so I'm hoping that's all that it is. I can't imagine why else she wouldn't have been auto approved.

Autoapproval on CIP is rare. DH and I both got 30 days and we have 800+ scores, didn't have much in the way of recent cards at that time, and a nice income. Tell her not to sweat it...autoapproval is like a unicorn on those. :) We have had only a couple on this thread that I recall. They get extra big dance parties.:)

Seems like there's a sneaky way to max out your Chase Freedom's 5x UR PayPal bonus category for cash with no transaction fee: https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/c...cussion_thread_may_27_2018/dzohxad/?context=3

Buy something from REI using PayPal checkout with the Chase Freedom, return it in-store for a cash refund.

I would add that this seems to be a technical limitation that some retailers have with taking PayPal. Some merchants have the ability to refund payment back to your card through PayPal, but others like REI may be only able to refund in cash. This reminds me of an exit strategy during the dying days of the eBay churn for liquidating eBay gift cards, which are (were?) processed through PayPal, by spending them at a certain merchant's eBay storefront, then returning the item in store for cash. I'm putting this knowledge out there, but please don't abuse it. Considering the bonus on the Freedom is limited to $1,500 only, it's not easily scalable anyway.

I maxed mine in just the last couple weeks since I haven't had a MSR to meet with another card. Having that paypal/chase pay on there has been great. I have had really good luck with PayPal being an option for online shopping so did alot that way. Coupled with the grocery store it has been a super easy category to meet. Now I just need June to roll around so I can pc my CSP to another freedom and max it before 6/30. Fingers crossed they continue with paypal/chasepay next quarter.

My name is disneymagicgirl and I have a problem. I am addicted to hoarding travel points. I cannot bring myself to spend them. I get anxiety thinking about using them for something and then needing them for something else. Committing to trips so far in advance makes me go AAAHHHH. :crazy2:

Not quite the same but in the past, when I have bought from walmart.com and paid with paypal, any refunds were allowed to go back to any card I wanted. Can't remember if they offered cash as an option.

Me too! I have said before that I think I hoard travel points more than money. I'm booking all our hotels for our CA trip (in less than a month) and spending my precious points is stressing me out! I'm worried I'll need them for another trip and whether this is really a good use or should I save them for something else!?! I'm pretty 'chill' normally but yes, this is giving me anxiety!

Buy a big screen tv on your SPG Biz that you still have a $2k MSR on, and refund it to one of your Chase cards (since refunds deduct only base points, not bonus points)?

My DH was auto approved for the CIP in February and the CSR in May. Ticks me off! I used the same info for both our CIP apps and I have a slightly higher FICO. The only difference is I applied for the DIS Visa last October and they gave me a fairly decent CL. I haven't tried for the CSR, I'm a little afraid of rejection. I'm going to reduce the DIS CL and try to get one of the hard pulls removed from my CR. When I bought my car last month the dealer pulled my credit (without my permission) the day BEFORE we put an offer in. Then we financed through our CU and they did a HP as well. So now I have 4 hard pulls showing up.

I found the opposite. No where near $1500 this quarter. I guess I need to spend more. Lol

I’m the same way. I keep paying for flights and hotels thinking that there will be a better use of those points down the road. I have lots of AA miles and Hyatt points and can’t seem to use them. I keep thinking I can use the AA points for my DDs cross country trips but then I want to hoard them so we can fly BC or FC on some later as yet unplanned vacation.

I was just thinking this today. Was looking at excursions for Alaska on Chase portal and thinking 25k points x3 people=too many points. But what the heck am I saving them for but this?

Yes, exactly. I think b/c I have to redeem so many for 6 people to travel, as you do, it is such a commitment. I can spend hilton or UR, b/c I can get them back if I change my mind. But transferring UR to a partner, that takes commitment because the points are then stuck with the partner...and it is alot of points x 6 people to be stuck at a specific hotel etc.

I want to send my SPG to Marriott and buy the cat 8 package today so I have SW points to book this week. I keep procrastinating and time is about up to get it done in time. But the back of my mind says...you might need those spg to transfer to Alaska air for Hawaii one day instead.:crazy2: I guess since there is a chance marriott is going to give points to those holding outstanding stay certs, I could then hopefully transfer those to Alaska air if needed. Of course, all this is up in the air since we don't know all the details.

I have ideas of what to use them for, I just can't seem to commit. :headache: If I weren't married it would be easier. :rolleyes1DH is NOT a Disney fan. If I didn't have to compromise I would just have all kinds of park and cruise trips on the books and be happy as a clam. Then again, if I weren't married I wouldn't have all these points from 2 player mode. :lovestruc

Alaska is a big part of my problem. I don't care anything about going, but we have it booked for next May. It was sort of a compromise...I want DCL every 2 years (minimum), DH wants to try Alaska for something new (we did western carib 3x in a row, once was b/c of hurricanes though). I am trying to get a feel on whether he actually wants Alaska or just wants a new destination, b/c I'd rather do a southern carib in Jan from San Juan...and it is much cheaper. Moving that $$ (non-points) trip by 6 months sort of would change the whole travel outlook over the next 24 months.
