I love credit cards so much!

Can I join in on the party?

I applied for the CIP yesterday and got the approval message this morning and already called to have it expedited.

This makes my 3rd biz card. I was a bit nervous because I'm sitting at 4/24 (I know generally that's ok) with healthy credit lines on 4 other Chase credit cards two of which are Chase (retired) biz cards in addition to 2 HELOCS (on rentals). I wasn't sure if they were really going to look at the 'big' picture or not. With the credit cards alone I am not at 50% but with the HELOCs :rolleyes1So, about two weeks ago, I called and had one of the biz cards limit reduced by half. I probably should have cancelled it but I wanted to make sure the CIP would be secured first. :)
Congrats

Plane Princess :rotfl2:

Back story on that: After our very first travel hack which was an international first class flight which simultaneously sold DH on travel hacking and mutated him into a plane snob :snooty: We were given pajamas to change into and our clothes were hung in a personal closet so they wouldn’t get wrinkled. We were handed complimentary champagne to drink while the flight was boarding. He doesn’t even drink  Our meals and service were wonderful. The flight attendant turned our seats into beds, complete with mattress pads, a duvet and turn down service. After that flight Mr. Calypso declared he would never fly in economy on any flight over 2.5 hours again. I was like, OMG! So what, you’re a princess now? princess: Having shared that story on here several times, this board dubbed him “Plane Princess” He doesn’t post here but knows about the nickname and thinks it’s funny. Morphing into a plane princess was instrumental when it came to his first recon call. He did not want to call at all. Flat out refused. I said no problem, I will call for my card and get approved. You can not call, not get the card and go fly in economy and I’ll see you when we get there. He called.

Thank you! That is all great information!! So all we have to do is call and they will switch our CIP to a CIC? I didn't know it was so easy to change to a different card.

Is it hard to transfer over UR?

Yes, but wait a year and wait for the AF to hit, then call.

Yes, transferring points is easy. It happens instantly. I do this every month, just in case the rules ever change and they stop allowing it or something.

I'm sure this must have been discussed, but I can't remember, and this cold isn't helping my brain right now. Is the 5th night free when booking with SPG points going away after August 1st? And we still don't know if booking Swan/Dolphin is a better move now or after because the new categories haven't been released? I want go to Disney in the spring of 2019 (yup, another Orlando trip, haha) for Flower and Garden and trying to make a plan.

OMG that is so funny! We have never flown first class. It sounds awesome, but I bet we will just stick with economy to Japan lol.

So I have to pay the AF again and then call to change it?

Hilton Honors American Express Business Card 125,000 Point Offer - via DoC.

This is a solid offer on an Amex business card that won't report to your personal credit reports and won't count against 5/24 with Chase. The previous offer was up to 100,000 HH points for $4k in tiered MSR.

@mefordis, if you're looking for another credit card to put $5k of spend on, the Amex Hilton Biz could be a good fit. (Make sure your vet accepts Amex.) It's got an exactly $5k MSR in 3 months for 125,000 HH points, good earning rate at Hilton hotels, and comes with complimentary Hilton Honors Gold status and 10 free Priority Pass Lounge passes (when your CSR's Priority Pass doesn't cover everybody).

This is great! Can I get a referral link to this or is it too new? Would like to gain some points for my fellow dischurners!

Are you out of the 2/90 doghouse yet? The offer’s good until 6/27.

I didn’t see any support links up for this card (not sure if it’s referrable).

I'm not but DH only has gotten 1. I am going to do his today and mine on 6/17. yay! Grand Wailea here we come!

ETA: @Lain I swear you must keep a spreadsheet about everyone...how in the world do you remember these details!?

First time reading your story. Too funny, Love it!

It doesn't look like it's going away. I see "Stay for 5, pay for 4. " still listed on the redeem points page for the changes coming in August.
And yes, no word on how the Swan/Dolphin will change yet. If you've got the points you can hedge and book it now, then try to rebook if it turns out better with the new rewards chart. (and personally I hope they keep the Marriott way where you can book on points before you have all the points available. but i'm not hopeful)

Wow, and I almost got this card on Tuesday but got a MR card instead! If I can manage this spend timely, looks like getting that one for DH instead in late June may be the way to go.

ETA, wth am I thinking, I don't think there will be any way I could meet both of those spends in time, with AMEX. Oh well.

Thank you! I think I will book before. I should have the points before the change and then I can always rebook like you said if it turns out better. :)

I'm sorry - what is an MR card? Still learning the abbreviations!
