I’ve been approved for the CIC!
:cool1::banana:party::bounce::jumping3::Pinkbounc:cool1:

Applied this morning and went pending for about 16 hours. For the record, this is my third Chase biz card as a sole proprietor: (1) CIP $16k CL, 6/2017; (2) Marriott Biz $5k CL, 2/2018; (3) CIC $12k CL, 5/2018.
You can't just go around throwing your own congratulatory dance party......geez!!

I'll throw one for you...CONGRATS!! :cool1::banana:party::bounce::jumping3::Pinkbounc:cool1:

I had a bonus from about a week and a half ago post to my CSR today. Posted around noon, so about 3 pm ET.
Thanks for the info. Although now I'm super bummed, haha. I don't plan to use my URs for 6 months but was super excited to (hopefully) see those points today, LOL! Just gotta wait another week now.

We are looking into other banks for our checking, but so far haven't found any. We are looking for something to still give us that 3% without the $10 minimum spend. Anyone have any ideas?

I read on DoC about a 3.3% checking account at Heritage Bank, up to $25K balance, need 10+ debit card transactions (it didn't mention a minimum transaction amount), one direct deposit or ACH per month, and enroll in e-statements.

I'm dreaming of the Hilton Aspire card.:rolleyes1 When I go onto the Amex site, even if I'm not logged in, it doesn't offer me a bonus for the Aspire, it just has a button that says "upgrade" (I have the no-fee one). If I click on a support link that takes me to an application with the bonus, I'm going to get it, right? Amex isn't going to not give me the bonus because I have the no-fee version, are they?:scratchin

I don’t have any of the Hilton cards, so someone correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t the no fee Hilton card a completely different product than the Aspire? Have you ever had the Aspire card before? If not, you should be eligible for the bonus.

I guess it’s field trip season, lol. We went to see a play (Charlotte’s Web). Thankfully it was children’s theater so the show was only an hour long. We spent more time on the bus than we did at the theater. :rolleyes2

On topic, sort of... I hate sending in cash to pay for field trips. Think I can convince the teacher to take PayPal next year? I could’ve gotten 5X points! :rotfl2:
Wow you really drove that far for a play?! That's crazy. We are lucky to have a big theater near us where all of the shows are held.

You shouldn't have a hard time finding economy award seats. Now, finding them at saver level may be more challenging but not if your dates are flexible for the most part. It's the business and first class that you literally have to try and snag the moment they are released.

If you're married to another travel hacker, no explanations either. I mentioned to DH that I got a new Amex Blue Business card and he immediately asks if he needs to go get one too.

Yup. I'm working on 3 of them right now. If you plan to dabble in some MS it is good to do it out of a bank that you don't mind getting shut down.

We were lucky and were able to get the CSR via Private Client before they closed that loophole.

Well, back then you could bypass 5/24 if you were a Chase Private Client. DH and I explored that option to get the CSR when it was first released. We were both 10/24 at the time and it would have taken 11 months to fall back under 5/24. Fortunately it worked out and that is how we were each able to get the CSR.

Congratulations anyhow! :cheer2: You are always very helpful!

That's negotiable and so are the fees. Yes, it is available to immediate family members if they have a joint account. We did that for my mom.
We've never flown anything besides economy lol. I guess we've just never gone far enough to get anything but economy. The longest we have flown was 3 hours.

Oh okay so we need to wait until we actually get the card?
Yeah - once you have the card you'll activate it, setup an online account, etc. and Secure Message will be an option in the menu.

My recent CIP was approved 4/11/18 and I was told via SM I have until 8/4/18 to meet the spend (which is 115 days in line with what others have said too :))

Yes I believe that is correct @mom2elal - you should be fine :)

Huh okay. I'll have to send their info over to DH and see what he thinks. Thanks!

And I will add my sob story... I had the 30K incognito offer for SPG personal pulled up at work, but hemmed and hawed over it for so long that I had to abandon my desk to go to a meeting. When I got back, the link had expired and I could not get it to pull up again. I ended up applying under the regular 25K offer, because at that time we thought the card was going away. Well, now that it's apparently not and there is supposed to be a "rich bonus" offered again at some point, I mourn the loss of those 5K SPG points.

I remember that, and I’m still so sorry. But at least settling for 25k SPG looks pretty smart next to the $200 statement credit, $100 of which requires you to make a purchase at an actual Starriott hotel.

I hate handling cash too. My kiddo’s PTA accepts PayPal and Venmo!

What do I do at 1am :surfweb:... I sit here and put down in my spreadsheet a complete 24 month plan for cards. :scratchin :rotfl2:

The good news is I see a clear plan of our next 12 cards and with my wife approaching 0/24 in June and me getting < 5/24 in 11 months...we have a lot of URs in our future.

I'd REALLY like to have my wife go on an AMEX Schwab & MR spree...but I can't justify fitting it in the strategy in the next 24 months. To max that out, it's 6 personal cards...but it's also $3,000 in cash...and this is why I'm putting the strategy clearly in writing. It will let me start overthinking credit card applications that will occur 18 months from now ::yes:: (I love being a churner :thumbsup2).

The other awesome realization I have is that by alternating P1 & P2 effectively we can support over $20k in MSRs a year and constantly remain under 5/24. I already knew this in my head, but seeing it on paper is pretty cool now!

I couldn't do without my Prime membership either. I'm surprised now I got the email saying it will be $99. Maybe because I have their Visa? Surely it can't be all the
money I spend with them:rolleyes1

I have the Visa too. I think you got lucky for another year :) Which is awesome!

Happy Birthday to your DD!! When DS turned 18 it took me a little to realize I had an ADULT child, ahh!

Thank you for this! I am still having trouble realizing I have an adult child! This is graduation week too so I've not really had time to think about her turning 18yo (we didn't even celebrate yet) so maybe after this weekend, it will all hit me. And I'll cry. A lot

I have more of a roadmap, instead of a spreadsheet, with lots of room for detours whenever there’s an enhanced bonus and new or discontinued cards. I’ll do a lot of notepad math to decide how to balance spend between meeting MSRs and maximizing bonus categories. What can I say? I want it both ways, even if it does slow my churn.

I’m trying to figure out what is the next card I should get. I’m 5/24 w chase. I have csr both southwest personals and the southwest biz and the ink preferred. I have the spg personal and biz. I have the Amex delta gold (its super old but maintaining my longevity for reporting purposes). I need to venture into new territory. I was thinking another business Amex but not sure. No immediate travel plans. I’m hoarding points on southwest and UR. I have a companion pass but also have a toddler so I’d like her a little older before we leave her behind and the same to bring her along.
