I love credit cards so much!

Oh that would have a 3% fee and Amex is cracking down. I have been getting US bank MasterCards at Giant and loading them to Venmo (they run as debit so no fee) and then paying my SO. You can only load 6 cards every 6 months.

Ok got it. Thanks. You are way too fancy for me! I will just keep plugging along making my spend way too quickly organically. Statement doesn’t close for another week and I am already at $3k. Crazy how it adds up sometimes!

I didn't explain fully... I booked ($200 on my CIP) deposit for son for Dec. with free dining. I was going to pay balance on husband's new CIP to help meet $5K spend. Any reason to transfer to Cruise/Tours for this booking? Do we net the same amount of points either way?

No cruise and tours is best for when you are wanting to use earned UR points. Makes total sense to use CIP to pay it off and meet spend.

See you are smarter than me. We are going to Grand Canyon in June. After the Canyon we are staying 3 days in Flagstaff. Could have zipped over to DLR for 3 days.

If you're staying in Flagstaff, check out the meteor crater. We were there back in 2008 - thought it was so cool!!

It’s pretty easy if you ever want to try it out we can help, but it sounds like you aren’t having any problems with MSR. lol My only large expense is rent and paying with a credit card incurs a huge fee.

2) You and your Player 2 could both open a Hyatt card. This card is also NOT subject to 5/24 and the signup plus MSR would earn 42k pts. Hyatt points transfer to Southwest at 5:2.4 I believe and if you transfer 50k points you get a kicker. In theory you could transfer 8k URs (if you have them) to Hyatt to hit that 50k mark and so that signup + some URs could be worth 29k-30k Southwest points (times 2 = about 60k Southwest points worth $850ish). (I know these are rough numbers but I'm not as familiar with the Hyatt program)
I have a couple of questions about the Hyatt card,is this personal or biz? and hyatt doesn;t count 5/24? if I'm lol/24,I could get a hyatt card? I've never considere Hyatt before but I like your use of the points- so if you trabsfer UR-Hyatt and combine points, you'd have 50k hyatt to transfer whiich is a bonus point for swa points?
could you post the link of non 5/24 personal cc's again? I can't find it right now....

I'm waiting for @SouthFayetteFan 's answer also. I have a Hyatt card and I thought it counted in my 5/24. I'm thinking you can apply for it when you are lol/24, just like the Marriott Biz. But, it is not a business card, and will count as a 5/24 card once you have it?

I was anxious to get it and the Marriott personal last fall, and put myself at what I think is 5/24. I could have waited a few months on the Hyatt and gotten another Chase card as the hotel I wanted the card for delayed it's opening.

Pick your favorite child and leave the others waiting by the gate?

Or if they are all misbehaving, I’ll just leave them all at the gate and have a airport date with my hubby.

Reading more this morning, it’s $27 per additional guest or $27 for all guests?

And while I agree Chase has to cap it somewhere, the cardholders minor children is different than business associates.

You are correct. You can get the Hyatt while over 5/24 but it will count in your 5/24.

Does Venmo count for Amex? I thought it seemed that was a person to person transfer and might not count to meet the bonus spend under the RAT rules? Maybe I just assumed that to be the case though.

I’ve seen several recent DPs that say Venmo still counts for Amex MSR despite the change in terms to exclude p2p payments.

Hyatt counts toward your 5/24 status but you can get the card if you are over 5/24. Idk how it works transferring to swa.

Here are the Chase cards you can get if you are over 5/24.

I’m so confused, sorry! Thought you were in Phoenix for a wedding & doing DL Nov. Anywho DL at Xmas time is INCREDIBLE! Small World is out of this world as is Haunted Mansion Holiday! Both amazing!

I am tossing around a trip sometime this year instead of WDW. Is it super crowded in dec? I could pull the little ones from school right after DD's college exams and go...so probably 12/15 or so.

^^^^This. Allowing minor children would be a good compromise.

That sounds even better lol. It’s $27 for each extra guest. I’m not happy with Chases changes to the CSR. I probably will ditch it after the sign up bonus.

You have to make the transfer within 30 days of booking, if you made the reservation in Dec you can no longer transfer it to Chase without rebooking. If you don't intend to use points to pay for it then no need to move it to Chase anyway.
