I love credit cards so much!

The 60k offer plus AF is still available via the link I see on DoC- has the 60k offer always been like that? For some reason I thought 60K had become the normal, non-referral offer... I think I need more coffee...

its possible the 60k link is expiring soon. as in in a day or 2.

Then I had to call and book another hotel for a special discounted horse show rate for the same location for June, which irritates me because I can't even get hotels.com rewards doing it that way. I mean, I guess I can get Wyndham rewards (it's a Ramada), but I'd rather get the hotel rewards. Grrr!

Do you mean staying there is required to be in the show? My kids have these for sports at times...esp hockey. It infuriates me to no end. What I am currently doing about it is booking under their rate and then cancelling at the last minute possible w/o penalty...which is usually 24-48 hours prior to the event. That way when they check numbers they see we are booked and they don't seem to go back and make sure you actually showed up. It has worked so far. We might show up one day and find out we can't play a tourney though. Whatever. Don't tell me how to spend my money...g.grrrrr

Thanks! We did the SeaWorld tickets last year. Hoping to snag them again!

What time of day does it open up?

The rep told me I could only pay for the balance with URs. I will research this more on the Reddit forum but I want to make sure my math is correct too.

She is saying call and try to make a new ressie, still with AP discount, and then use all URs. Then call WDW and cancel the original.

It’s April 2, and
  • Amazon eGift cards are no longer available on Gyft and Swych, but still available on MPX.
    • Short term, you can buy Amazon gift cards in grocery stores in April-June using Freedom for 5x UR, up to $1,500 in purchases per card account.
    • Long term, you can usually buy Amazon or Kindle gift cards from office supply stores for 5x UR on CIC/Ink+.
    • Or you could buy VGCs as @speedyfishy suggested here and here at almost no cost and earn 3x UR on CIP, then load it to Amazon, or use it to shop anywhere you’re not earning a bonus on spend.

Thanks for the update. I should've grabbed amazon yesterday on gyft. DH has an amazon addiction. Oh well. Maybe they will return someday. I don't use amazon as much now that Walmart and target have 2 day shipping anyways. I just need to get him to not use it.

That is correct, but they are also able to make new reservations. If you can get them to make new reservations you can cancel your old one, that way you can pay the entire amount with points. My reservation was for $530, I paid the one night deposit $89. Once it transferred over I used URs to pay the $441 with points.

Looking for some objective advice for my 25-year-old son. He will be starting law school in the fall and I'm thinking now (while he has an income) would be a good time for him to apply for a credit card or two. He has 2 in his name (Discover and Capital One) and is 0/24. I'm thinking he should stay away from AmEx (unless it's a disappearing card) because he's not really in a position to take advantage of a lot of travel-related benefits now, and since he can only get those benefits once, it doesn't make sense to get them now. Plus his present income (about $30,000) is probably not enough to qualify for the "premium" cards. I'm sort of at a loss to know where he should start.

when wondering about shutdowns, we also need to know your */12 and */6. so 4/12 and 1/6. Did u apply for another brand of credit cards, i see you list all chase cards.
Next question is, do u have any kind of loans?
What is your credit score?

At the moment, you seem fine. are all those chase cards with high limits too?

I have been focused on Chase while I am under 5/24, so no other brands in that time.
I have a mortgage, HELOC and car loan.
Credit score is around 810 - 815.
The credit card limits are $6.5k, $9k, $13k, $17k, $34k.

ETA: HELOC with Chase.

I believe it was in the mid morning. I set an alarm to remind me because we were on the Allure of the Seas when they were on sale.

You can also sign up for their daily emails though I forget what the website is exactly at the moment or if he linked to it in his post.

@speedyfishy @Lain @Albort this is why I don't try to liquidate Visa gcs.... I'll probably just write a check, at least this won't make or break spy biz spend

Can you use Plastiq to send a check? Checks take 7-10 business days to deliver, but your state treasurer or taxing authority may be in their system for electronic payments that would take just 2-3 days. Tax payments through Plastiq are fine on Amex. 2.5% fee on $250 works out to about $6.25.

No, not required to stay there! Just the cheapest rate by far (by about $50) compared to any other local hotel rooms. I just don't actually have a use for any of the points I'll get if from it since it's not through hotels.com or anything!

I feel a little silly asking this, but the SPG biz was my first Amex card. I tried to use it online and I could not figure out my account number. It kept telling me to add the 4 digit little number from the top, but I could not figure out where to add it. It didn't seem to want me to add it to the account number. I thought maybe I had to add it as the CVV number but it wouldn't let me add there either. What did I do wrong? I added the card to both my AT&T bill and my cable bill. It let me add them, but the charges wont post for a week so not exactly sure I did them right either. When I went to buy something on a different site is when it said I needed to add the additional 4 numbers. I ended up just using a Visa because I could not figure it out.

@gottalovepluto just made a separate thread, but in case you don't see it...check your AMEX offers!!!

I got probably 5-8 good ones over our 2 cards.
Hyatt, chuck e cheese, ebags, chow now, lamps plus, shipt ($50 off $100!)

I am beginning to think my Amex accounts have been flagged "packing cube addict". Ebags offer on *drum roll* Every. Single. Card.

There are 4 small numbers on the front of the card. You put it into the same place as the CVV number from other cards.

Unfortunately, eBags stopped letting their customers combine gift cards via customer service. So you can’t buy just a $75 gift card on each Amex, then hope to have eBags combine them for you.

What people have been doing has been buying a $75 eBags gift card on one Amex, applying that to an order, then charging the balance of $75 or more onto a second Amex with the offer to double dip. That seems to be the extent of what you can get out of this deal.
