Hmm, cannot generate a referral link for new spg biz...says this card is not available...why do you guys think? Just cause so new or is that a sign that referrals are being taken away?
It seems that I cannot generate a new SPG Biz link either (checked my acct and my wife's). Anybody who has a valid link on DISchurners (for 25k) is still working though...

I did however notice a NEW support link is available. The Business Green card from AMEX offers 5,000 AMEX MR points for a single purchase. I did this myself last year. Spent $5 earned 5,000 MRs, LOL! Well it has a support link now soooo that's cool! It's one of 2 AMEX business cards you can use to keep your MRs active (i.e. if your AF on your biz plat or biz gold is coming up and you want to cancel). The two cards are:
  • Business Green - which as I just said offers 5k points for a single purchase via support link. This has an AF but it's waived yr 1 so it basically buys you 12 months to keep those MRs active
  • Business Blue Plus - this also has a support link offer for 10k MR points for $3k in purchases. This has no AF (but requires some actual spend)
  • Of course you can also use an AMEX everyday card to keep MRs active but since it's a personal card it will add to your 5/24 status if that matters.
If you happen to have the Blue Biz+ or Biz Green I'd suggest adding your support links to DISchurners because...You have VERY little competition on those cards ;) haha!

That is interesting news regarding the SPG biz...
This happens from time to time with AMEX. They might just be updating their systems after the increased offer. If it didn’t come back for a few weeks, then I’d start to wonder. This is also why we often give advice to hold on to your old link when AMEX does one of these increased offers. :) Some people are still in business on DISchurners because they did that LOL!

Yup, when I was debating between the 5k and 7k spend offers, I noticed only a couple on DISchurners who had the old 5k link. Some had new cards and no choice except to use the new offer but some, I am guessing, just deleted the old and replaced with the new. Now those old links are the only working offers. I'll remember that going forward.

I used one of these old Dischurner links this morning and got instant approval. The $5,000 spend felt like a better option for me. Those points plus my current Marriott points will get me a decent points plus miles option.

So DH said I could apply him for IHG. Is there a current 80k offer and how might I get that to pop up? If not, does someone have a screenshot so that I can SM Chase for a match? Thanks.

I changed my link they day after the 35,000 offer died, so it was working the first day at least.

My husband has a work trip scheduled for Alaska in early June. Anyone know how to get to Alaska for cheaper than $1000?? Very tempting but only if I can get the price way down.

"seasoned vet" :rotfl: since I've been doing credit cards and swagbucks and discounted Disney GCs for a whole 18 months. I do actually have $100 in Target right now too, but I'm okay waiting a bit to see how that shakes out since I can use it for groceries or other things.

I'll have to check out what else Lowe's has... I haven't been in there since the last Amex offer :rolleyes1 This offer is $10 of $50, so 20% right? I've been very scatterbrained the last few weeks.
I couldn't decide on two of my Lowes offers.... so I got an Amazon gc and a Dis gc to split the difference:rotfl:

:offtopic: now I want a handle of thatsalottapoints!!! to use somewhere lol

:) hear you on being scatterbrained, I shredded a debit card I was just about to walk out the door with to use for a deal earlier this week! Yes, your math is solid, it's a 20% savings!
:rotfl2:

@Jen and Ashwin I wasn't able to get the IHG 80k points no matter which way I tried so applied and got the 60k + $50 statement credit. There is a screenshot on Reddit somewhere under an IHG thread for r/churning that you might be able to use for the match. I haven't tried yet.

I have had some success on a site called Skiplagged. You can enter the airport you want to fly into (Juneau or Anchorage might be the most likely) and then see the cheapest flights into that airport. Then see if you can get to that airport for a reasonable price To make a connection.

Surprised at the (rumor) at no signup for the premier Arrival... but with the 15K spend bonus, the card becomes 3x everywhere/everything which is huge. It's all going to come down to transfer partners. I'm holding out hope!

You all keep quoting cheap SWA fares.... but let me tell you if you're flying somewhere at the peak season,it can get pricey! I just used for our upcoming trip 35k points per person to get to Orlando on Spring Break..... for a family of 4 thatsalottapoints!!! (fwiw,I usually pay about 5-8k each way off season) so it can happen. It caught my bro by surprise that's for sure(he can't say I didn't warn him lol) he figured he;d have enough for r/t for his fam, nope! he got at least one way on points tho so I did save him some cash.....(flights are at least 375 pp one way last I looked)

Not sure why, but our December trip (19-25) to Disney we paid 80k for 3 people originally but every time I checked the prices they went down so I got point adjustments. Final point cost for all three of us was under 25k. The Christmas day last flight out ended up going down to 2k per person.

Has anyone noticed that when you look at the public point fairs it says say 3,000pts but when I logged in and tried to adjust the flight from say 5,000pts down to the 3,000pts it would say 3000pts with a strikethrough and then say 2000pts next to it. Seemed every time I went to 'rebook' the flights at a better rate I would find that they would offer me an even lower rate than the public rate to stay on the same flight. SURE! :cool1:

To really understand what you’re getting you need to take the value of those points subtract the $150 AF and subtract however much you normally would have made on that $15K spend. The Math: 2 bonus spend scenarios Vs a 2% cashback card (assuming current Arrival point values):
1. $450 ($15K spend @2% plus 15k bonus) - $150 AF - $300 (min value of putting spend on 2% cashback card) = $0
2. $750 ($25k spend plus 25k bonus) - $150 AF - $500 min value @2% = $100

$25K in spend is the minimum to make a return on this card which is egregious in my book. $15k is the minimum to not lose money. If you sign up for credit cards for bonuses you need to add in those bonuses you could be getting with the spend and this card turns into an absolute money pit.

If you are in desperate need of their set of transfer partners you might consider this card but imho you’ll find yourself better off getting the airline/hotel card of whatever you’re after and it’s corresponding bonus instead. $25k spend would cover more than a few airline & hotel card MSRs.

That’s a good point you make. It’s possible that if they aren’t offering a sign up bonus they might not implement a */24 rule. Plus posting stories in the travel community is a really nice way to earn more points quickly! Yeah, it will be all about the transfer partners and */24 and as @gottalovepluto points out ... math.
