I love credit cards so much!

I have the CIP but other than the 3x coding on plastiq, the card isn't real valuable to me. The categories on the CIC would be very useful. I had planned to PC my CIP to the CIC at 1-year but then @gottalovepluto got in my head with her suggestions of applying for the CIC, rather than PC'ing.

I agree that I think the CIC is potentially more useful to me and if I remember right it doesn't have an AF. I just googled the card to see if I could find out about the AF, it wasn't mentioned but it had the $500 on 3k spend but no date info in the details.

ETA - If I had paid any attention to the non fine print I would have seen the no AF right in front of my face. Long day and on sudafed just trying to breathe through my nose :)

Mine is all nose/sinus which I'm not used to, though I'm glad there's no cough. Just never had my nose to blocked that I can barely breathe through it. Fun!

So I don't have to start another post @SouthFayetteFan I have a post it on my laptop to buy my delta gc and to update my reddit links :) I don't like being on a naughty list because I didn't do something...

Oh yeah, I gotta buy a Delta GC too! Thanks for the reminder :)

@afan and @gottalovepluto Feel better soon! I hate trying to sleep when my nose is all blocked :(

Since we have so many eBay entrepreneurs in this thread, thought this might be of interest: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/targeted-amazon-fire-tablets-from-19-99/

And for a rundown: http://milestomemories.boardingarea.com/reselling-amazon-fire-tablets/

Remember you can get Amazon gift cards on Gyft at 3x/5x UR with PayPal checkout and CIP/CIC, respectively, and JetBlue 3x portal is still alive for a few more days. If you qualify with this offer, you can use only 1 MR point by paying the value $0.01.

Wow...I am REALLY tempted to go for this offer for my wife instead of CIP... I had already intended to get both but who knows how long this will last.

EDIT: and what I mean is do this first then get a CIP in 4-5 months.

I know what you mean. I rather wish now I had gone for the CIC instead of CIP. Objectively for us the CIC is a better card. Seeing as I am apparently tapped out with Chase (CIP approved but only $5000 limit) I don’t think I would get both. I do have now 6 Chase cards. I think DH has a good chance though and I see some value in him having both.

Curious, is that HI on the boardwalk? We typically stay at the Comfort Inn on the boardwalk. I think it’s (the Comfort Inn) around Divison/1st. We like to be right on the boardwalk.

No. It's the Holiday Inn Express West Ocean City before you cross the bridge. It's 30k points per night or roughly $300 a night in July.

The Holiday Inn and Suites on the Boardwalk at 17th Street is 50K a night or $450 plus. In July I will stay on 17th St for the pools and the beach access and to be right on the Boardwalk (on points). When we go off season we often stay at the HI Express because it's a little closer to Assateague.

With the new Hyatt opening, I'll be switching it up and trying to use points there. I've never stayed at a Comfort Inn.

FYI - I know BMO Harris is dead for Amex issued cards. The WF Propel is an Amex but not issued by Amex. Saw a DP that suggests funding with BMO will work for $1,000 of the spend on the WF Propel card. If anyone is considering going for the 40K/$400 bonus (spend $3k in 3 months) with the WF Propel, I"d open up a WF checking for the $200 bonus first, then wait until you get the notice you've been approved for the checking account via email. Then, call in and apply for the WF Propel card since it is going to be discontinued by the end of the month. HUCA if the agent you speak to can't find the card in their system to apply. The WF Propel card is also offering 0% interest on purchases and BT for 12 months. So, if the timing on making the rest of the $2,000 MSR is not quite right for you, it is still do-able. Between the WF checking, WF Propel and BMO Harris combo this is $800.

I used $15 worth of rewards certificates from My Best Buy purchases last week to buy a Disney GC -- no problem. Reward certificates are like coupons; they have to be scanned first, before any other gift cards or savings codes are applied. Otherwise, the system won't accept the reward certificates and your cashier will have to start the transaction over again. Could this have been the problem?
That may have been why. Thanks for the clarification.

Grrr... I want that CIC but it doesn't fit into my plan of double dipping DH for CSR/CSP in a couple weeks and then using his referral link from CIP for myself. Darn you and your good offers, Chase!

Hmmm ok maybe I want to retract this statement. Here's an idea... what if instead of double dipping DH next month, I got him the CIC instead, met that spend, and then went for the CSR for him after that? I'm coming out with the same number of URs afterwards, but I don't have to meet an 8k MSR in 3 months... The only thing I would lose is the referral points from my CSP, which isn't THAT big of a deal. I'd be happier not trying to meet that spend and the stress of double dipping (which is for some reason freaking me out).

DH's cards:

Chase Amazon Visa- 5/17
AU on my CSP- 9/17 (confirmed closed on his credit report)
AU on my Chase Freedom- 10/17
CIP- 2/18

Can I get him the CIC after just getting him the CIP? Would that look weird to Chase? Thoughts, anybody?

What is the difference between CIP and CIC? They're both Chase business cards? I'm pretty sure I was told the CIP won't count against the */24; will the CIC?

Also, I just got the CIP. My only other Chase card is the Chase Sapphire Preferred (CSP? Not sure about these acronyms yet). I assumed that when I log into my Chase account both cards would show up, but the CIP is not there. It's activated. Would I have a separate log-in for this because it's a business card?

CIC has some different valuations on earning UR points (gives points for gas and restaurants, for example) and also has no annual fee. The bonus for it has typically been $300 cash back in the past.

Did you receive your CIP, or just get approved for it? I created a separate login for DH's CIP because the business site for Chase used to be terrible. Much different than the normal personal site you would see with your CSP (Chase Sapphire Preferred!). It's sounding like Chase has switched the CIPs to the new format for just about everyone though. DH's CIP is on the newer website, which is much more functional.

ETA: Yes, CIP and CIC are business cards. CIP does not count against your 5/24 and neither does CIC as far as I know, but I don't currently have one.

Yes, you'll have to create a business log in. I waited until I got my card and the instructions were in there.

I just booked a last minute trip to Boston. Why oh why does it cost 3 times as much to leave Boston as it does to get to Boston? Looking at SW flights. If anyone has any tips for Boston let me know, specifically looking at Boston University and possibly Tufts. It looks like they are fairly close? Can I just uber from airport to both of these places fairly cheaply? Would rather not have a car.

Have you looked into flying into PVD or MHT and driving in?

PVD, MHT and BDL are all a considerable drive from Boston - esp. if you are traveling either way in the morning or evening (forget rush hour - its rush hours in the Boston area, and traffic sucks in all directions). Would add a lot of travel time and necessitate a rental car.

I recommend you go car-less - parking is a pain (and expensive) and between the T and uber/lyft, you will likely get around more inexpensively anyway (again, if you can avoid uber/lyft when its commuting time - surge pricing can get bad). Pretty sure that both campuses are fairly close to T stations, and the T is pretty user friendly. Getting to the city from Logan using the T is not great, but there are water taxis, which are kind of a fun way to cross the harbor, or lyft/uber.

Have fun - Boston is a great town!
