I love credit cards so much!

How do you use the "applynow.chase" to get a link? I looked everywhere and the referafriend was the only spot I could get links from. Its actually quite annoying you'd think there'd be somewhere in your account to do it but it eluded me. I think I found the referafriend from an email they sent me and just plugged in all my cards to see which would generate an offer. Is there a better way?
The applynow link is an older format that recently went away I believe. For any new links I'm generating I'm using the "refer" link...

I feel your pain. DH hasn't done anything quite that egregious, but I cringe every time I check receipts off on a credit card statement and see a restaurant charge on the CF or CFU, for example (at least when the 5% CF category isn't dining). He's getting better and better at using the correct card, but I abhor leaving any points on the table. He also set up some automatic payments on the CF instead of the CFU. He had a decent rationale to try to avoid fraud on our more-used card, but I'm making him change all those. I'd rather get a new card from time to time if the CFU is compromised than give up that extra half point on those transactions, lol.

I feel your pain. lol I swear my husband does it to annoy me sometimes. I tried the little sticker on the card, but he was embarrassed using the card with "restaurants" taped to it so he took it off after some cashier commented about it and won't let me put any more stickers on.

Thanks for commiserating! I'd asked him to put post-its on the cards if he couldn't remember but he didn't want to do that. I had to get tough this time. I told him that if it was too much trouble for him to remember he could fly in coach next time while I'm in business--that should put the fear of God in him!

Poo, oh well, thought maybe that was the case. It's not so bad now that all my cards show up in the Offers page on my Chase account, but they have some weird session cookie for that referafriend page I can't find that keeps telling me I already have a session open, close the browser to continue. But I don't so I've been using another browser to check things until I figure out how to clean that off (might have to go nuclear and delete all Chase cookies and re-setup my verification if I can't work it out soon)

How much do they give you to upgrade?

It depends, but it is usually only a few dollars more (mine were $10). You have to use the passes before you can price bridge. Go to guest services at the front of either park. They will give you credit for the current gate price, which usually ends up being slightly less than the cost of a seasonal annual pass. So if a seasonal pass costs $274.99 and you paid $244.99 for your ticket, but the current gate price for your ticket is $264.99, you will only pay $10 more to upgrade rather than $30.

ETA: These are fictional numbers to show how it works, I haven't actually looked up current gate or Annual pass prices.

My DH broke his glasses this morning after I left for work. He made an appointment for exam and will get new glasses this afternoon. And he has the "wrong" credit card. :(

I believe but don't know for certain, that the new tax law raised the income ceiling for this credit - which means higher income folks will be able to take advantage. I know that was being discussed at one point but not sure if it made it into the new tax law or not.

You got me all excited so I googled and don't see where any changes were made for 2018. Boo.

That is what I am doing.....playing chicken and not enjoying it.o_O I love to just book and get it over with.
What I don't like about the portal is the lack of seeing flexible dates like a kayak or google flights. Im open
to any cheap dates but find i have to SELECT the date to do. Did you have specific dates in mind or how did
you search. I'm open to any date in the summer and might have to put in each date:mad:

I find this to be super annoying as well....

Can you use Google Flights to find cheap dates and then use those dates to check the UR portal? I know the portal varies somewhat, but that might give you an idea of which dates are likely to be cheapest.

....so I end up doing this ^^^ and then I get flaming mad when the UR portal wants to charge me twice as much as direct through the airline.

I put "dine" on the sticker for DH. Neatly typed. Discreetly on the back. :rolleyes1

This is a first. I got an email saying my card is in the mail. Come on Marriott Card, i got some pass due bills(good thing they charge no late fee) and new bills to pay!

I have one big bill I’m holding off for as long as I can. I can’t wait much longer so I called Chase and requested they expedite my new Marriott Biz. They obliged and it should be here in 1-2 business days.

Is it a small office where they know your dh & would take a CC# over the phone or bill when the glasses come in? We go to church with our optometrist and the office staff knows us so I'm just thinking out loud what I'd do in this situation (glasses are $$!) but I know that may not work for all places.

I am working toward a Universal Trip myself. So, definitely not an expert, just muddling my way through.

We are focusing on UR now that we both at 4/24. I just applied for the CIP yesterday (got 30 day message) and then DH will also apply. I think we will go for CSP after that since it should be two years since our last bonus by the time we spend on the CIPs.

Anyway, you can book any Universal hotel through UR. If we get enough UR, I am even considering getting a few tickets through that (but the redemption value isn't as good) and then upgrading them to APs for not much more $ when we get there (still researching this piece).

We have a family of 6 and we are leaning toward a Cabana Bay suite. That will get us into the parks an hour early but no express passes. Since we are going to be there for several days, I think we'll be fine without. But I could potentially change my mind on that again! It is just that getting enough room for us at one of the nicer hotels is a LOT of $/points!
Look into Annual Pass rates for their hotels since you're already planning on getting the AP (there's a thread in the Universal Resorts forum). We were going to stay at the Royal Pacific over Christmas for $450 a night using UR points, but were able to find annual pass rates for only $174 per night. In that case the points weren't worth using so we booked with cash.

No it’s Pearle Vision, only thing covered in our area. I told him to use Discover (essentially 2%) and he questioned why not HSA card. I said we’ll get 2% and then get reimbursed

Just checking my offers on the Chase cards and I noted that they not only changed gift card to statement credit, but now you get 100 reward dollars instead of 50. Still a limit of 500 reward dollars though. Is this the same for everyone or am I just special <g>?

I've done the 2 Disney cards - both 5 plus years ago, and at least once it said statement credit back then. But, I received $200 gift cards both times. Still have one of them that I haven't gotten around to spending. Kind of forgot about it and checked the balance just before my January trip expecting a few dollars! I was pleasantly surprised to find it still had $200 on it.

Wow you are right! $100 Disney rewards for the referrer!

Also I was thinking about this on the way home...the statement credit is actually better. You can now spend $500 then get the stmt credit and only actually pay $300!! Before you would have spent $500, paid $500 then received the $200 gift card. This is a better deal for both people!!

I did see the 100 rewards dollars but didn't think much of it because it was still the $500 limit per year so nothing triggered that anything else but the stmt credit changed. That is kinda nice.

out of curiosity... Am i the only one that does not have a Disney Rewards card?
