I fly to Taiwan a lot and there is always direct flights from LA, im not sure how much my feedback is good for you. I do LAX--TPE with Eva Air and China Air. Ive done J,K,Y on Eva and its currently my preferred choice. China Airline will get u there, but their food and serves are subpar at best. Currently flying out on EVA J class in 4 days. I will take picture for ya if u like!

There are a ton of airlines that fly to Japan though. Singapore, JAL, ANA, all are great airlines, top notch. If you were to fly to China, those might a good layover. Hong Kong's Cathay Pacific looks amazing too! I read a lot that if ur used to these services, flying any China based airlines will be a letdown, but they are direct flights! and they are cheaper too!

Thank you! I will be considering multiple routes and possible positioning in case I can't find the exact award route I need. I had to do this with our Scotland trip for this summer. There was absolutely nothing coming back from either London or Scotland to Miami with award miles on AA or BA or any other One World alliance team. So I started checking all airports in Florida with no success. Then I check for flights to Atlanta. I found those and booked them. Since ATL is a Delta hub it was easy to find a flight from there to MIA at the later evening hour we needed to get back home.

Ok I know this info is probably buried in this thread, but I wanted to ask...those who used Chase rewards to book WDW hotels, how did you link to MDE? I've tried the confirmation number multiple times but it's not working.

H/t to @mhartman09 who went through this and posted her experience for us:

I actually finished up the booking a few minutes ago. I went with the preferred room. I had 107,612 points posted on my account from the CSR bonus and spending. For the 7 night stay I used 107,602 points and paid $210 with my husband's CSR (which we are accumulating points on to use for another stay within 12 months). I know to some this isn't a great use of points, but for my family it works out great. We have yet to do any traveling abroad and my primary goal was a Disney World trip for us with our son. I know there are lots of other things this bonus could have gone towards, but I'm happy with what we booked.

The only problem I'm encountering right now is with my booking number for the resort. I booked yesterday, then tried to link the booking to MDE. The system said the hotel confirmation number in my email is not a valid Disney booking number. I tried calling Chase UR last night, but was told the confirmation number I was provided is the only number they have for the booking and they recommended I call Disney to ask about this. I called and the CM told me Chase has to give me a number that can be converted to a Disney booking number. I'm super confused with this. I ended up sending an SM to Chase about it to see if they can help me that way. I received a response asking me to call in to speak with someone to figure this out. The number they provided in this message is different from the number I called before. Hoping someone will be able to help me with this when I call today. I really want to get the booking linked in MDE.

Just took my break at work, so I called Chase at the new number they provided. The rep told me the Disney booking number would not be available until about 72 hours before our stay. When I told her that wouldn't work at all, she put me on hold to speak with a supervisor. She said I'd need the vendor confirmation number, which isn't available for her to see in her system, but if I could hold for a specialist at the help desk they could get the number for me. I didn't have time to wait, as she said the hold could be for a while, so I told her I'd call back when I take my lunch in about an hour. She made notes on my account and told me to tell whoever I speak to when I call back to check the notes on the account and put me through to the specialist at the help desk to get me the number I need. Will report back after I call them back.

Just got my UR portal booking linked in MDE. I called Chase back and was able to get what they called the "vendor conformation number" which was way different from the confirmation number on my email confirmation. Then I called Disney and was on hold for about 25 minutes for a CM. She told me she'd have to transfer me to the Internet Help Desk to see if they could convert my number over to a Disney number so I could link. She did say since I booked yesterday, the ressie might not be in their system yet so I might have to call back (she gave me the direct number to that dept). Was on hold for about another 7 minutes or so. Luckily the next CM I spoke with was able to locate the ressie and get everything linked up for me!! Now we're all set to start making our ADRs. I'm so glad I was able to get this resolved so quickly. Took several phone calls to get it done, but overall it wasn't too difficult.

Thanks @Lain for posting my experience. I'm on a little late today. :)

@jimandami - Hopefully my posts can help you out. If you've only tried to link via the website, I'd definitely suggest calling Chase directly to obtain your "vendor confirmation number" which is completely different from the confirmation number you receive in the confirmation email when you book through the UR portal. Once I had that number, it was fairly easy for Disney to convert it to a Disney booking number and link to my account. Good luck!

Is there an automatic status line for Chase business cards? The one I found didn't work

This is the number I used to check my business card:

Chase has an automated telephone line that you can call to check the status of your recent credit card application. To check your Chase credit card application status call 888-338-2586 and enter your social security number to check your status through the automated system.

Thanks @mhartman09 and @wendow
The number I found got me a live person and I hung up because I didn't want to talk to anyone lol. Both of those numbers said I'm approved! Maybe it was just a glitch with the email.

CP here we come! DF keeps calling it the buddy pass :) Last night we were double checking our plan to meet the spends and after we did all sorts of work and were done, I was like oh yeah, I'm going to have to pay the shop to get my car hail damage fixed.... That makes it much easier lol.

I've been out of the points game for awhile (we opened a business and didn't have extra money to float balances or to travel), and I would love some opinions before I jump back in. Sorry for the long post...

In the past, DH and I have each earned the SWA CP; we had ink bold, Citi prestige and TY, venture and Barclaycards. We also have over 200k AA miles. We've used all the points from all these cards, except for the AA, which I think we will use summer 2018 for trips to Alaska and Rome.

I think our primary travel goal is to earn the SWA CPs again. With those two big trips 2018, I think it's unlikely we will be able to afford any smaller trips for 2018, so I was thinking the best time to apply for the SWA cards would be the end of 2018, so we could have the CPs for 2019 and 2020 (provided they don't change the rules on earning them).

So, my question is, would you apply for the CSR now, to use the double dipping on the travel credit and then just sit on those points/transfer them to SWA while waiting to earn the CPs? And, can I open a CF card to keep the UR active and cancel the CSR before paying the second anniversary fee? Or, should I just not worry about the extra $600 (credit if we each get a CSR) and just hold off until we can make better use of them closer to when we will get the SWA cards again?

DH just opened a Marriott card and IHG card, because that's where we will be staying in Rome; other than that, we should not have any cards opened in the last two years.

Or, any other major deals out there? I just started reading this thread and resumed reading the blogs I used to follow, so I'm really feeling out of the loop! Thanks for any advice!

Can someone explain the double dipping on the travel credit with the CSR? We got the card in late April and already earned the credit by charging a Disney trip later that month....are we missing an opportunity here?

Not yet. To double dip, you would use the travel credit again during the first months of 2018 -- before your annual fee comes due again. :)

Edit: Let me explain that a little better. The way things stand right now, the CSR gives a $300 travel credit per calendar year. Only interested in keeping the card for 1 year because of the annual fee? Since your annual fee covers 12 months from when you opened the account, those 12 months fall within two different calendar years: 2017 and 2018. You've already used the travel credit this calendar year, so all that remains is to use that credit again during the beginning of 2018 before you are forced to pay the annual fee again.

If you plan to keep the card longer term, it doesn't matter as much. Just make sure you use up the credit each calendar year.

to those of you who have booked an onsite room thru the UR portal, how do you get your actual disney hotel number? I have a room booked, but the only hotel number they provide is like 25 digits long, and won't go in MDE....

Thank you. I think we're keeping it but good to know :)

You have to call UR Travel & they will call Disney to get your actual confirmation for you - then you can link it to your MDE.

If you want to double dip, u NEED to apply before May 21st.

Here it is. So for those who want to double dip get the card now.

$300 Annual Travel Credit: A statement credit will automatically be applied to your account when your card is used for purchases in the travel category, up to an annual maximum accumulation of $300. Annual means the year beginning with your account open date through the first statement date after your account open date anniversary, and the 12 monthly billing cycles after that each year. (For applications submitted before May 21, 2017, annual means the year beginning with your account open date through the first December statement date of that same year, and the 12 billing cycles starting after your December statement date through the following December statement date each year.) Call the number on the back of your card to see when you are eligible for your next $300 Annual Travel Credit.

If you plan to keep the card longer term, it doesn't matter as much. Just make sure you use up the credit each calendar year.

it does matter when u cancel it, there is still a extra $300 in there... :] But it might all change though. But with the change, its possible to triple dip. lol.

Awesome news on getting approved! But oh my, I am so sorry you got caught in that awful hail storm. We are just south enough...by like 2 miles...that we did not get any hail at all.

@Albort and @Aanna , would you guys explain about how we might be able to triple dip on the CSR travel credit? I understand the changes coming to the CSR but my brain isn't connecting the dots on what you are alluding to.
