The only problem with that site is that Virgin Atlantic isnt on there. I heard there is some good redemption on that airline... couldnt hurt but --> http://www.awardace.com/

pray for Q4... Q4 is always up in the air... last year, Q4 was drug stores, but they moved drug stores to Q2. Amazon again? Warehouse? i think Q3 for Discover is removing Warehouse.

Yeah, just restaurants for discover. I read some people also got targeted for Amazon, not me though

Yes discover took away warehouse from Q3 which sucks because I was going to buy more gift cards at BJs. It was awesome while it lasted.

I know warehouses were included in one of the Freedom quarters last year, but my impression at the time was that that was a unique thing because of Costco switching from AmEx to Visa. Have warehouses ever been included in a Freedom quarter before last year? (No idea about Discover since I don't have a Discover card.)

I don't think it has. Also, Sam's Club just started taking all forms of cards last year so maybe credit companies added it to the cash back line up to make people aware they can now use it. Same with what you were saying with Costco.

Here it is. So for those who want to double dip get the card now.

$300 Annual Travel Credit: A statement credit will automatically be applied to your account when your card is used for purchases in the travel category, up to an annual maximum accumulation of $300. Annual means the year beginning with your account open date through the first statement date after your account open date anniversary, and the 12 monthly billing cycles after that each year. (For applications submitted before May 21, 2017, annual means the year beginning with your account open date through the first December statement date of that same year, and the 12 billing cycles starting after your December statement date through the following December statement date each year.) Call the number on the back of your card to see when you are eligible for your next $300 Annual Travel Credit.
DH got this card in early April and we used it in Disney later that month, hopefully earning the $300 credit ( I haven't checked his statements yet....) What does this change mean to us?

My family and I did a 10 day? tour of China, i think it cost us like $5k each. It was Beijing, Xi'an, Gui'lin and Shanghai. Its a expensive tour but we paid for the best. There was only 5 ppl total with 2 personal tour guides. Best Hotels too.

All Meals included.

We did Beijing-Wuhan-Guangzhou-Hong Kong for about $25k. All the best, including best souvenir ever--our son.

Guangzhou was probably my favorite city in China - a lot of green spaces compared to Beijing and Shanghai. Seeing the panda center would be nice but the one China trip that's pretty near the top of my bucket list is the Harbin ice festival. It's too bad that Harbin is hard as heck to get to.

@Albort @CyndiLouWho @AmyAnne - Would you mind sharing what airline you traveled with and which cities to and from? Where was the long haul connection if not direct and what were your overall thoughts regarding your flight experience? Thanks a bunch!

I fly to Taiwan a lot and there is always direct flights from LA, im not sure how much my feedback is good for you. I do LAX--TPE with Eva Air and China Air. Ive done J,K,Y on Eva and its currently my preferred choice. China Airline will get u there, but their food and serves are subpar at best. Currently flying out on EVA J class in 4 days. I will take picture for ya if u like!

There are a ton of airlines that fly to Japan though. Singapore, JAL, ANA, all are great airlines, top notch. If you were to fly to China, those might a good layover. Hong Kong's Cathay Pacific looks amazing too! I read a lot that if ur used to these services, flying any China based airlines will be a letdown, but they are direct flights! and they are cheaper too!

Just got an email from Chase welcoming me to my SW card. The email says welcome to the Premier card, and the picture shows the premier card... I'm positive I applied for the Business card. I don't see the card in my personal Chase account, so hopefully that's a good sign... has anyone seen anything like this?

I remember seeing that mentioned... but I've never had a SW card before, and this email came to my email I use for financial stuff, not the one I have on my RR account for promotional offers. It's got the last 4 digits of an account number. I applied on Monday and got the 30 day message, so I've been waiting fingers crossed...

You can't apply a third party code to a reservation through the Chase travel portal (or over the phone), right? I'm looking to book Portofino Bay at Universal at the end of the year and I have an annual pass which usually gives a good discount. I'm assuming I probably can't double dip with the AP and the CSR's 1.5cpp.

Started working on my CSR spend today, by charging about $400 worth of medical bills to it that I will get reimbursed from my HSA. This is the first time I've done that, I usually just pay medical bills with my HSA debit card. For some reason it never dawned on me until recently to pay them with a rewards-earning CC and then request reimbursement. Really wish I'd thought of it sooner since we've paid a few thousand in med bills in the last couple years, but at least I'm doing it now!

I know, last year was the first year I had an HSA. I only had to pay for contacts and my eye exam, so less than $200, but you can bet this year I'm using a credit card :)

My dd has Lyme and we pay out about $800 per month for her treatment. I put everything on my cc's and then reimburse through the FSA. Of course, we maxed out the FSA already for this year :( I never use the debit card they send us.

I've had the HSA for a few years, and started using the debit card once I built up a balance in it. It was better for us at the time because we were still getting our finances into shape and working on budgeting. So using the debit card made us not really have to manage medical expenses since it was money we already had saved for them. Now I'm at the point where I feel comfortable managing the cc payment/reimbursement method.

I did this with DD's braces. Unfortunately her ortho doesn't take Amex so I couldn't use it toward my spg Amex minimum spend. At least I know now for when ds gets braces.

Just started doing this myself as well. I've been using my CC to pay for all medical expenses and reimbursing myself with a check each quarter. Wish I had done this sooner!

@Albort @CyndiLouWho @AmyAnne - Would you mind sharing what airline you traveled with and which cities to and from? Where was the long haul connection if not direct and what were your overall thoughts regarding your flight experience? Thanks a bunch!

I don't think my experiences are going to help you much because our flight criteria was a combination of cost (low) and convenient times. All economy tickets. We have flown Delta (and I think some of those flights were actually China Air) and United from Chicago. Have flown into Beijing (twice) and Hong Kong (once) but honestly I can't recall too much about either. No horrible experiences but nothing great either. The one flight from Asia that I recall as being above expectations was from Narita to Heathrow on Turkish Air. Amenity packs for economy, not crowded so we ended up with some rows to ourselves, friendly flight attendants.

Oh, and the flight from Taipei to Narita was on EVA air - the Hello Kitty plane. My kids were quite amused.

We flew United, upgraded to Economy Plus or whatever they called it, non stop Chicago to Beijing & HK to Chicago. Personally I am all for non stops where possible & at the time, United was our only choice (& I had no idea about points) The flight there was fine, just the two of us & the seating was 2-5-2 so we were window & aisle. On the way home, the nastiest flight attendants ever, kicked DH, forget food for 4 or 5 rows one meal, reluctant to give hot water for baby bottle (and got yelled at when I dared approach the flight attendants who were all standing in first class). And no food at all for 1 year old (who had a seat). At first I felt bad when DS was messy but when they were so *****y, I let him make a big ole mess.
