Marriott now has their own shopping site Might be worth it if there's something you need. They have Petco, Anthropologie, Barnes and Noble, etc. Not tons of stores but they all earn Marriott points.

https://more.marriottrewards.com/

Check his SPG account and see if points posted. If any posted, then you should be ok to transfer.

Awesome!!! I didn't know anything about this. Thank you for sharing :)

You can buy 1,000 Marriott points for $12.50, which counts as activity. Personally that's what I would do, then you can transfer them all to the SPG account when that's up and running.

Another great option! I was looking around their site earlier and I couldn't find anywhere to buy points. How do you do that?

So looking for a way to stay at universal studios with credit card rewards for dec 2019. What’s the best option? Also is there a way to do food at a discount there? So used to Disney.
At 3/24 with chase as long as the two business cards don’t count. Dh has 0/24 so we have options. Just not sure what the best Card would be for this trip plan.
Hotels can be booked on Chase UR portal. Booked RPR using our CSR and 1.5x redemption rate.

And OMG be CAREFUL! The very beginning where you put your rewards number in- get that right. EXACTLY right. My dad did this last year and got a digit off. Points never showed. Contacted Marriott and they said that since the points weren't deposited into any account they would refund him (it was just 10K points and it was like prying teeth to get them to do that) but if they mentioned that had the points been deposited into another account they would have done nothing, he would have been out the points and the cash. So triple double check when you put the rewards number in!
ETA: did not code as travel on CSR

Just to add to this, Marriott Rewards MORE shopping portal (and app) don’t have many merchants, but points earned shopping are treated as “qualifying activity” that keeps your points alive. (By contrast, points earned answering twitter questions aren’t qualifying.)

Also, I shopped at Apple through the Marriott MORE portal a few months back, had to make some returns, but Marriott never clawed back the points. That was interesting.

I haven't gotten any tweets or emails back from Marriott and the points are not added either.

About Marriott points, only my dh has an account and the points say to either use some of them or stay with marriott by 3/2/18 to not lose them. If I book a room using UR points, would I still earn Marriott points or does it have to be a room paid for with cash?
Marriott program was a hard one for me too since I earned all these points on the promos but only staying, purchasing points or earning points on a Marriott credit card will keep the points alive. I ended up buying 10K pts (very carefully :) )

So, I hear you saying I need a new iphone...I'll tell my dh that it's necessary for my churning habit lol :)

We lived at a Marriott for almost 4 months 5 years ago. We racked up gobs of points but when it came time for them to expire, we didn't know what to do with them (wasn't into this 'hobby' yet) so we cashed in for a GC to Lowes or something. Huge waste of points. Even though it's only 11k points, I don't want to make a stupid mistake like that again. Buying the points seems like a good solution but yes, I will be VERY careful!!

Wait. WHAT?! I could have just used their shopping portal? That is definitely not included in their list so I wrote it off! http://www.marriott.com/marriott-rewards/terms/expiration.mi
I feel like they cheated me out of $12.50 for the points purchase. #churnerproblems

Apple has a very lenient return policy — 14 days, no restocking fee even if you’ve opened the box and have been trying a device for two weeks. Just don’t damage it. If you like it, keep it; if you don’t, easy return.

I got this nice offer in the email over a week ago and after back and forth with customer service, finally got the link to work. Whoohoo!

I saw this on DoC today.

So I checked, and I got First Stay Earns One Free Night Award + Second Stay Earns One Free Night Award (in Category 1-5 hotels and resorts).

I can’t decide if this is any good. There aren’t any Category 1-5 resorts where we tend to travel...

i got 2500 first night, 5000 2nd night.
Also, i got all 1500 points from marriott. up to 17k just from tweeting! :]

Does anyone know if Disney park tickets purchased through Plum Benefits or Working Advantage will code as travel?

are we talking about Hollywood or Orlando? for Hollywood, SPG Sheraton is the way to go as its on Universal Property. Theres also a lounge inside the park for Amex holders but must use amex card to purchase ticket to qualify.
Orlando purchased the tickets three years ago. Family decided not to join us so we did just disney as that was my original plan :-) now to use them

I love Universal! My son is over Disney so we try to go to Universal every other year. I suggest staying at one of the hotels on property that include express pass....Hard Rock, Portofino, or Royal Pacific. You can use UR’s to book these on the UR portal. I’d go for a UR earning card for your trip. I’m most likely going to use UR’s for my next Universal trip.
They do offer dining plans, but I’ve never purchased one so can’t really help there. I did look into it and remember thinking it wasnt worth it. If you stay at Royal Pacific, they do a character breakfast on Sundays. We got to meet Gru, Woody woodpecker, Minions...ok, getting off topic but I do love Universal ALMOST as much as Disney, lol.
Thanks 2 adults 3 kids 4 day tickets but just looked and we will miss the hogwarts express that goes between :-( unless there’s a way to upgrade. Is it really worth it? Do their hotels cost different amounts of UR or are they the same value?

I signed up DH for the SW PLUS credit card last month even though he may not ever travel with me. I'm hoping the extra points will give me some breathing space as I slow down on my personal cards to get below 5/24 for the CP in 2019 or maybe early 2020 if I can wait that long. He was approved right away. I just completed spend on that card recently (it's headed for the sock drawer) and was feeling a bit lost not having a MS to be working on. Is this the first signs of an addiction:flower1:? I signed up for the Marriott Business card tonight and got approved. I'm thinking this will space out DH PLUS/PEMIER applications. He will then be at 3/24. We got his CSR last May before the deadline. I'm thinking we can PC that to the FU and pay only one AF on his CSR. After that I think we might go for the CSP for him, if that is an option. Any thoughts or suggestions for a better/different plan would be welcome.
Will your DH do business cards? That would give you 80k ur over the possible 50k ur for the csp. Although I don’t believe he will qualify for a sapphire bonus since it hasn’t been two years.
