Amex hands out biz card like candy. i'm sure ur fine. :]
I wish I had been into this hobby 10 years ago when I was selling stuff left and right off of Craigslist...But good to know

Just calculated my spend on my CSR/CSP double dip. I thought it would be tough to spend $8k in 3 months, and we are only 6 weeks into it and I already met the spend on CSR (actually $200 over) and am shy $400 on my CSP. Yikes! I am not sure if this hobby making us spend more than usual or just making us more aware of our spending. Feel like I should go ahead and sign up for the next card (debating the SPG business or the CIP) but I think this time $5000 might be too much this soon. We did have 2 big bills last cycle we will not have again for awhile, tuition and car insurance. I do have 4 months left of rent to pay for DD, maybe I should figure out the plastiq thing.
it worked for me.ymmv for stores tho I had better luck staying under $200 per transaction
That's my plan! I was pretty sure we'd owe between $1k-$2k unfortunately, but it made me more confident in going for the SPG biz. I made sure I had enough other things to hit the spending too, just in case we wouldn't owe for some reason. You might be able to put your insurance on a credit card! And if it makes sense to make the spend, you can put your taxes on a credit card too!
Ok guys, I need some advice - or maybe talked down from a ledge.
I'm seriously considering the Spirit card. Help me.
Here's why: Aerosmith (favorite band) is playing a headline spot at New Orleans Jazz Fest in May. I want to go. Flights from my part of the world are astronomical. I'm not paying $800 oop for 2 RTs and I'm not spending 90k Delta miles each way, either.
I've never flown Spirit but I was studying their award chart. It's only 2,500 miles each way in zone 1, which is what I am... you can get their credit card with 15k miles after first purchase. It's BOA, so a different issuer than most of us use here. On the signup, I'd get enough points for me and hubby to fly to see Aerosmith over the weekend.
I presented this idea to him and he didn't flip out. He actually said, "You gotta grab deals when you can. Who cares, it's a 2 hour flight."
I would pack a tiny bag and shove under the seat. We're literally talking about 2 nights here.
Am I losing my mind? The other option is to drive and it's 13 hours. We'll do that if necessary I guess.
No it doesn't sadly.Does the Marriott Business card have a referral bonus?
I started our taxes yesterday. I thought we'd owe some, and it's looking like around $1800 right now. So between that and my car registration, and my 6 month insurance premium... Goodbye SPG Biz spending![]()

I figured, but thought I'd ask.No it doesn't sadly.
Our plan is stay at the Hilton Hawaii Village for 3 night, we need 2 Hilton biz cards.I'll have to look at my options... like @wendow I'm feeling FOMO on the Marriott/SPG cardsI don't even have a plan for them... I'm so new to this there's a lot I haven't done, like my only AMEXs are SPG cards. I'll have to investigate the Hilton card. I'm struggling with my SPG points too (using them)... like I was looking at San Diego hotels the other day, and I'd look at one that is 10k SPG points... and think, but that's a night at the Dolphin...

DPs on the Chase Pay Best Buy offer. My bonus points for the 10x offer credited immediately for the Freedom and Freedom Unlimited. My CSR was showing only 1x, so I SM'd Chase and received the reply others are receiving: that I am entitled to the bonus points and that they will be credited to my account within 1 to 2 billing cycles.
Woah - I accept no blame. I will take the credit thoughI figured, but thought I'd ask.
I may be adding up what the minimum spends would be and how many points we'd get for the SPG/Marriott cards we don't have, and I have you to thank for that
We could still each get a Marriott biz, and he could get SPG biz and Marriott Personal. For that I'm getting $14k in spend for 37.5k Starpoints and 276.5k Marriott points with the current offers, including points from spending, AUs, and referral bonuses...
I'll be sure to blame you when I present this to DH.
270k+ Marriott points is a sweet haul!Applied for Altitude Reserve under a pre-qualified offer yesterday. Went 7-10 days, got a call from US Bank fraud dept today verifying I applied for the card and some other verification type questions. They said they'll send the application on to underwriting and I should hear back by the end of the business day. They mentioned at the end of the phone call they saw if was a pre-approved offer so hopefully everything does indeed go well. Fingers crossed! I'm getting very excited to lay out some travel for this year and would love to put together enough to take my family back to the Beach Club for F&W (secret travel goal, I don't want anyone's hopes up at home until I know I can do it) we'll see!!

You've really laid it all out well. I started to type a response 3 times...and then re-thought things. So I understand your conundrum...I just keep coming back to the fact that the CIP points are worth so much more than the Marriott points...I'd probably go CIP, then do the double dip (which could still get you precheck before June), then hope Marriott is still around. BUT if you do something different it wouldn't be a bad decision in my book either. Good Luck!!Trying to think aloud on a strategy for DH. He is 3/24 and has the CF, both SW personal, and SW Biz as far as Chase cards. Original plan was to get either the CIP or Amex SPG biz to keep him under 5/24 until I'm ready to double dip the CSP/CSR for him. However, if I get the CIP next, this means the chances of being approved for a third Chase Biz card would be difficult and put Marriott Biz out of the question. While I could wait and close the SW Biz, who knows if the Marriott Biz will be around that long. Also wanted to wait until June/July when his anniversary points post before I cancel. So effectively, it seems I have to decide CIP/Marriott Biz with the possibility that Marriott Biz goes away. Secondly, want to also get the CSR now so he can get pre-check for our trip to CA in June, but then with the double dip, that means he's definitely out of luck for the CIP, but Marriott Biz would still be ok and we would have to wait until he's below 5/24 (which wont be until next June) again before we can go for the CIP.
Decisions, decisions...![]()
