I love credit cards so much!

I'm not too worried about Amex flagging Plastiq as "gaming."

There was a similar discussion way back when Paypal changed their language. No one was too worried, then- either, but BOATLOADS of paypal accounts were frozen. Paypal is not a big deal- something most can live without. AmEx, on the other hand, has a multitude of products and they continue to evolve and introduce new products. Getting cut out of that steady stream of points is gonna be painful for those that play the game in the gray area. My point is that AmEx put that language in place- and now they are gonna find examples of what happens when people attempt to game them. You heard it here first- watch your back.

Nope, it tells me my recipient won't take that card.

you could try to fiddle around with a custom payee. I was reading about some guy who couldnt pay his bill with the listed address but he send the payment to another address and it works that way. would play around and see if your willing to try it.

We are new to csr but I believe that doesn’t work anymore. The credit is per anniversary year now I think.

i believe you can still double dip, but you wont be able to triple dip. im not sure if im right though.

Well, Toyota won't take my AMEX. Nevermind for me.

Have you tried this? DP from churning subreddit:
Some payments that were denied changed to accepted after slightly altering some of these fields: Name, phone, and type. One only had to change the type to other category.

It's essentially the same trick used to pay mortgages on Amex by creating a "new recipient" that isn't blacklisted.

Might try that, thanks everyone.

On another note... transferred my Marriott points to SPG... Marriott balance updated... I see the transfer in my SPG activity... but the SPG total isn't updated? Takes a few minutes?

Shoot... went to try to purchase an Amazon gift card tonight through Marriott More and Amazon is no longer showing up as a retailer for me. Anyone else?

Looks like it's gone! I was surprised to see Amazon in the first place! Glad I got my little order in this afternoon!

Gaaaah. And of course I already put in a Petco order through the Chase shopping portal this morning for my dog's food, so I don't need that. I really don't shop at any of the other stores listed on there. Maybe they'll add some more soon.

For SPG, I usually have to log out & log back in for it to update

It’s not on my list either and I purchased from them earlier today. I got the reward points for the purchase but not the 1000 point bonus for the 1st purchase. Maybe they were giving too many points away with Amazon since it was one of the only ones not on another portal.

Right now I see 12 retailers. It won't last long if that's all they have.

Is it too late to double dip tonight?
I was 3/24 and 1 AU. I applied for Marriott late this afternoon and got the 30 day msg. I just called the automated line and was approved. I was going to try for a Freedom card to double dip. Any advice?

So finished my cip spend. Should I go for the csr? When does the travel credit hit to double dip?

What’s your 5/24 status?

Have you had the CSP before? If you’ve had the CSP in the last 24 months, you won’t be able to get the CSR bonus under Chase’s new “one Sapphire card bonus in 24 months” rule. If you currently have the CSP, you won’t be approved for the CSR under Chase’s new “one Sapphire Card at a time” rule.

If you haven’t had and don’t have the CSP, and can swing the combined $8,000 spend on the CSR and CSP in 3 months, you should consider double dipping the CSR and CSP — applying for the two cards on the same day, at about the same time, using different browsers, incognito mode, or back to back after you’ve cleared all your cookies and cache. The idea is double dipping gets you around Chase’s “one Sapphire” rule by getting you approved for both cards before either Card appears on your credit report to trigger a denial for the other. This workaround also lets you get the two 50,000 UR bonuses.

As for the CSR travel credit, Chase changed the travel credit from calendar year to cardmember year in May, so now the $300 travel credit will reset on your anniversary. You can still double dip the travel credit by charging $300 right after your second year and then canceling the card within 30-days of when the annual fee posts to get a refund on the annual fee.

Good luck!

A couple quick reminders for all that are here (especially any newer folks). We have private Reddit group that all DISboards Credit Card churners are invited to join: https://www.reddit.com/r/DISchurners/

There is some great informational posts there, a place to introduce yourself, and also some ways to support other DISers when you're thinking about signing up for a new card ;) :thumbsup2 (with none of the karma requirements and other hoops you find on r/churning). AND we also have lots of (meaningless) upvotes! From some feedback I've received, I personally know that at least 3 people have already supported another DISer over there, so thanks to those of you that have taken the time and extra step to do that!

Also, for those of you already there, would you guys be interested in a thread where we post about all the cards you have (or had) and what you've redeemed things for? It might spark some neat conversation? (and be easier to reference back to than a discussion here) Let me know our thoughts!

Also FYI, the goal continues to be to keep the discussion here. How else will new DISers find us? But that can be a nice place for some other more focused topical discussions or for detailed informational posts we don't want to get lost!

Wait, you can possibly triple dip the CSR travel credit? How? DW's CSR annual fee comes up the end of January, so early Jan we can douple dip, then PC the card to a Freedom. I never heard about this so called triple dip.

Next...

We are planning our first cruise on DCL for sometime between Nov 2018 and Feb 2019. Any tips on how best to use credit card points/rewards for that trip? We have a load of Chase UR points (like 400k) plus we have plenty of Spirit miles to use before getting rid of that card. I'm hoping I can use Spirit miles for the flight. I know I could use UR points for some of the cruise or for our overnight stay in the hotel (not sure what hotel we will stay at). For after the cruise we are considering a couple nights at SSR or possibly checking out Vero Beach via our DVC points (but I don't want to use too many points as we are in re-load mode). Any tips or thoughts? DW and I are both are like 2/24 or 3/24 on Chase and have yet to explore any other bank/airline/hotel cards.
