Yay, finally, a decent Chase offer on DH’s Freedom- $40 back on 2 transactions of at least $15 with AT & T. Not as good the $200 offer with AmEx but i’ll Take it.

And there is a strange $150 credit from Courtyard pending. No idea what that is for since we never use DH’s Freedom when we stay there. I guess I’ll be contacting Chase later to inquire.

In other news, the weather people were totally wrong! We are already up to 5” of snow and they are calling for it to snow through 9 pm. Guess I’ll be teleworking tomorrow.

In the past I've gotten this credit in 5 days. Just looking for other data points.

It was an app offer on DH’s Freedom.

After getting outside to shovel, we actually only have 2”. The news reporter was one town over for us reporting and they had 5”.

Dh booked his and my flights to Orlando end of March! We are staying the first two nights at Rosen Shingle Creek which is where his conference will be. It seems so far away from everything but the resort itself looks very nice! We will have a car until we get to WDW and then turn it in. I booked that already through UR's (much cheaper than either Costco or the conference discount rate).

Then we will stay three nights at WDW. I wasn't able to rent dvc points b/c no studios were available, and the deluxe rates are too high so I'm bummed. I really wanted to stay deluxe since we are kind of priced out of deluxe when we all go and need two rooms.

SO, I currently have three rooms booked: Pop, CS & CBR. We've never stayed at Pop or CBR. Pop is almost $200 less over the three nights. My question is for those of you who have stayed at these resorts, if you were just hanging out (though some of that hanging out will be at other resorts), which would you choose? We are definitely pool people so hoping it is warm enough to swim!

I actually love all 3 resorts, I'm really easy to please. I feel like pop is a lot smaller than the other two so easier to get to food court. But it's nice to walk around CS and CBR if you're just hanging out. I like hanging out by pools, but water is water to me, so I don't feel attached to certain pools. I think the mods have hot tubs though, and pop does not, so that could sway me. I do like how you can keep the murphy bed at pop folded up when there's just two of you, so it makes the room feel bigger to me. So i'm probably not much help, I'd stay at any.

I read back a lot of pages ago that someone else who did a gift card one on the 1st did not get the credit, but did get credit for gift cards bought on the 2nd and 3rd. I would think that buying a seat upgrade should give you the credit with no problem, but you may have to keep on Amex to get it if it didn't post upfront. Good luck!

I will have nothing to shovel if the temp rises a bit. Snowplow did go through and there is a couple of inches but since it's the light and fluffy stuff it will be gone in no time, if we don't get anther blast from somewhere. I bought a snow blower about 3 years ago and haven't needed it yet.

I made a purchase at staples yesterday and used my CSP to get the 30%. When should I expect to see that posted on my account. This is the first time redeeming a Chase offer.

I bought a GC from staples on the 5th and received an email and a credit on the 11th.

I just shared this last night: My family has 3 AmEx Platinums and 2 Rose Golds. The personal platinum needs to be cancelled soon to avoid the $550 fee, so because I was anxious, I used it to purchase a $200 Southwest Airlines gift card on January 1st, and it never triggered the credit. All of the other AmEx cards were used to purchase various airline gift cards on 1/2 and 1/3, all of which credited within 3-4 days. Because I still need to cancel that personal AmeX Platinum, I purchased another $200 Southwest gift card on 1/9, and the credit posted today.

Bottom line - I did not get my credit for a purchase on 1/1, but all subsequent purchases credited.

how much total spendings do u put on amex? not include MSR period.

He has had his own Amex since 2015. At first he just had the Delta Platinum and I know that year he put $25,000 on it because I had him use it for everything because I was dumb and wanted the extra sky miles. In 2017 he got the SPG personal. By then the Delta personal was probably a thousand or so. On the SPG he met the spend and then plus the spend probably $8000. In 2018 he maybe had $1000 on it total until the upgrade which was $5000...since then probably another $1000. He got the Delta Biz Platinum in October 2017. Hard pull to start which was random and then (this was before the pop up) the bonus never would post until I threw a fit and went to twitter. Since then on that card it has been a couple thousand on top of spend. I guess I am just at the point I am a little peeved with Amex...this is all legitimate spending not MS or anything like that. He hasn’t cancelled and he has paid the fees. It is so frustrating but if they do not want to give him any more cards I do not really want to keep giving them the business. I tried to make an effort since the first pop up in November, and he has had maybe $2000 total on all 3 cards but apparently that is not enough. I almost think once you are on the pop up list you are not getting off.

Ok PNC debit card still not working for Amazon reloads... anyone have any ideas?

I did not do this for my PNC card, but I do remember doing this for a different debit card previously. All of my Amazon reloads do say Debit Card Purchase at PNC.

@wendow, @disneymagicgirl, @Haley R you should give CBR a chance. I liked the rooms before, and since the renovations are done it is really nice. The gondola construction is not right there in your face but set off and the other construction is Riviera which is off enough that it is not impacting much.

Contemplating whether or not worth trying to call again with DH to upgrade Freedom to CSR after churning fail yesterday. I am almost thinking I just forget it for now. I want to have DH apply for the Hyatt this weekend but it is pretty much been a churning fail this weekend so wondering if maybe not. If he got the Hyatt he could use that for everything and at least be getting two Hyatt points when dining out...and meeting a minimum spend.

I would love some cheesecake factory today but I think I'll stay in since we do have snowy roads. I have 5 gift cards with 5 slices to use up by March 31, so Cheesecake factory will be getting to swipe my gold for the next couple of months.

Curious...has anyone cancelled a room reservation that they had used a gift card on? How long did it take the refund to show back on the gift card?

Last oct it took 2 days. Interested to see how long it takes now I need to cancel a reservation in March. Can’t pull kids for two weeks right now.

Here's a new (to me) SWA CP and points booking question- P2 is almost at CP, but I needed to book a flight for him using my old points stash from my acct- what I want to do is add the companion flight to his already booked flight when we get the CP in a couple of weeks. Will that work out? (It's booked via my points, but the CP will be his)

You can use your points to buy p2 ticket. Then when p2 gets Cp add yourself. I just did this last month

We felt exactly the same about CSR. However, the pool was pretty quiet compared to other pools like BC, Poly and BLT. That was nice.

I really, really want to go back to POFQ (we got to stay there one night last April). I find the PO resorts so romantic. But I really am trying to watch the budget and with tax, POFQ would be $300 night.

POFQ is our favorite moderate, but we've only stayed there once since joining DVC in 2007.

I actually thought the bc pool wasn’t bad at all in October. I absolutely love POFQ!!! It’s my favorite so far. We stayed there for our honeymoon. We haven’t been back because we always try to get a new resort. I’m sure we’ll be back sometime because we can’t do a deluxe for an entire trip. I can’t believe you saw it at $300 that’s crazy high for a moderate. It was $185 for our dates
