I did 6 months of physical therapy 3x per week after knee fracture. I was very motivated and had a second surgery in there also (plus a third later). It is tough, plus I didn’t drive for about 4 months. I have to say for me the pain was worst the first 3 days after surgery, it was more manageable after that. I was back at work after 6 weeks but had someone drive me and pick up, and to therapy. Took pain med after work on the way to therapy, on therapy days. They may need live in help with 2 little kids. Plus the trip home will be a challenge.Just got word that she is being temporarily released until her surgery next week after the holiday. And for son in law they are saying 6 months. That's why I was bemoaning the numbers...
Of course a lot depends on him and how gung ho he will be with rehab and therapy - the patient has to be willing to work at it (not saying he won't) and as you know it's not easy to power through pain. Daughter is a 'lets get this done and over with' personality.
