I love credit cards so much!

I have gotten the Chase Ink Business credit card. Will those UR transfer to the same account as my CSR account?

Yes, they will. However, my account gives me an error when I try to transfer from my CIP to my CSR so I send a SM to CHase asking them to do it for me.

Any tips for filling out the CIP app with "online sales" as my "business?" Do I need to make up a legal name for the business, or should I just use my own name? I'm also not sure which category of business to choose - I assume the "Retail" category that includes non-store sales? I don't want to have them reject me because I didn't fill out the application correctly. I'm also not sure what to put for number of years in business; I've had my eBay account since 1999 - do I use that? Or is it suspicious that I've had the "business" for that long but will list a very low number for annual sales. (I was going to put $1000.)

I want those 80K UR points but the business card application makes me nervous, lol.

I made up a business name. I'm not sure you have to but I did.

I did choose Retail as my category. I would list your number of years from when you first began selling on eBay. If that goes back to 1999, then by all means, put that down!

Use total household income on the app. So whatever your day job pays plus any extra you make through ebay selling.

That app made me very nervous as well. I really did not think I'd get that card. I got the 30-day message which I figured definitely meant a denial. To my surprise I got it. I hope you do to. There really is no harm in trying. Just keep reminding yourself of that!!

If you don't have an immediate use for the Avios, and you have an iberia account to which you can transfer BA avios back and forth, give some thought to moving your british airways avios over to iberia until you need them, and then transfer them back. I've found that BA randomly and frustratingly claws back portal miles earned with no seeming rhyme or reason. It just happened to me again -- 900 miles from a 10x promo for HP. Dealing with them is like banging your head against the wall. So, for me, I'm going to keep a zero balance in BA.com until I need the avios, to avoid any clawbacks.

Thanks for the heads up! I haven't had any issues yet but will certainly keep an eye out.

I 2nd everything @wendow said but I did not create a name, just used my own, so I don't think that is a big deal one way or the other. I was approved the same day but that was my 2nd business card (also have SW business) so that may have contributed to the quick turnaround. I think that you having a history works in your favor.

I know if you cancel a SW flight that you booked with points they add them back to your account with no damage. Is that how other airlines handle cancelled flights booked with points or is it case by case (not an industry standard)?

I have 2018 vacations planned and (mostly) booked. Taking a cue from @calypso726 i want to start planning 2019 travel. Would still like to squeeze in a Disney vacation, assuming DS doesn't think he's too old by then. 2019 will be our 30th anniversary so I'd love to do an Alaskan cruise. I've looked at the Disney 5 night plus maybe 2-3 nights in Vancouver before or after. I'd love to do a longer cruise but doubt we could get that much time off work.

We're Costco members, so I looked at their cruises. So I could pay with a Costco gift card, maybe? Or Disney gift cards. How else to pay with points? Does Chase book Disney cruises?
I plan on getting Barclay Aviator to cover airfare (we already have about 100k AA points). Have SPG card with some points for hotel in Vancouver or could try something else. Vancouver hotel recommendations anyone?

You have to be under 5/24 for CIP, correct?

Did a pretty good redemption this morning. The other day I decided I just HAD to pop down to Epcot for Food and Wine at the end of October. The hotel prices are freaking insane. So I used some Citi ThankYou points, combined with the fourth night free and ended up paying $127 out of pocket for 4 nights at CB. I just couldn't pull the trigger on the deluxe resorts that were left. Contemporary is $2k a night!!!

I booked Frontier flights and a rental car with my Barclay Arrival+ - so I'll "delete" those charges. I have gift cards to cover one park hopper and I'll buy the other with the Arrival and delete it too. (One gift card from Chase signup, natch!) So all in all, I'm doing Disney on the cheap. :)

Now, that said I'm buying DVC at the end of the year, so the mouse is still getting my money. :rolleyes1:sad2:

@GlamMistress What do you mean by Barclaycard "deleting"? I'm not familiar with that line of cards at all. I have a similar quick trip planned for December. :)

Deleting isn't the correct word, probably. More like, just exchange the points (miles) for the charges. Arrival+ earns 2x "miles" on everything, everywhere. And then we you get enough "miles" for a redemption, you just log in and do so. Here's an article: https://thepointsguy.com/2016/09/barclaycard-arrival-plus-flexible-travel-redemptions/

Awesome! So jealous. Been trying to make this work for us but wanted to try a MNSSHP too as DS loved it last year. Can't do it cheaply enough.

Dear heavens no- other airlines you take that flight or lose the points/money, sometimes for a large $100+($200+?) per ticket fee they'll redeposit the points. Read the specific airline's refund policies very carefully before purchasing! Southwest is special.

I was pretty sure that was going to be the case, SW is special! Thanks

The OP was referencing actually getting her cards from Gyft and not the ABSOLUTELY CRAZY way they show or don't show with Ink via Chase. Have you had any issues actually getting your cards from Gyft as the OP has as of late?

sorry, i misunderstood. @ski_mom I had this issue once in awhile but i did verify my identity with gyft.com by sending them my ID. I also found that buying my gyft card via iPhone always works. Sometimes i get rejected/pending when buying through computer. I remember before i started, i sometimes have to wait 3-4 hours to get the gift cards but so far its been pretty smooth sailing.

For anyone who remembers my few posts on using points for a trip to France, figured I'd toss a quick update out here. We are booked for June 2018! Two of our three flights were free using Flexperks (US Bank cards). We booked 5 nights in Paris at the Hyatt Regency Etoile (one of the only places in Paris that you can redeem points for a room that allows more than 2-person occupancy) - all free, due to our Hyatt cards! 2 nights at the Waldorf Astoria Trianon Palace at Versailles for free, thanks to our Hilton cards (and we still had another 3 free nights we're using next weekend in Nebraska for the eclipse...and still 15K more points left to use). We'll spend 4 nights at the Disneyland Hotel to enjoy DLP - used the UK Buy 2/Get 2 Free early booking offer. The Disneyland Hotel is definitely a splurge (we are value resort people usually), but all of our other freebies/savings allows for it. We paid the deposit on Disneyland Paris with DH's CSR and it DID code as travel and the credit applied, which is great, as we were just charged the annual fee. Still working on the CSR spend, so when we have those points, we'll attempt to book our other 4 nights in France...we know the general areas, but are not picky on exact hotels, so I THINK we can stretch the bonus points far enough to get those 4 nights free. Also, I'll probably get a Barclaycard Arrival + before the trip and use that for our rental car to erase the cost. And we'll probably put the remainder of our DLP on DH's Arrival + once we hit the spend and get that bonus (also in progress).

Our goal is to really only pay for food, admissions, entertainment, incidentals, etc. on this trip (well, and half of the DLP hotel and tickets, plus the one flight). This boggles the minds of most people we know IRL, but figured you guys would understand. People can't grasp that this is even possible, then I tell them we are really just novices dabbling in this CC reward world...I mean, all of this was done slowly with around a $2K spend per month...we are not exactly churning it up. Just being strategic about which cards we get and when, then using them. Last year, we got the Flexperks AmEx cards for the bonuses that we used for flights. Then, last March, we got the Hilton cards when they had the big bonuses. When we finished those, we started on the Hyatt cards (all two-player mode, thus far). After we hit that spend, we got a Barclay Arrival Plus and a CSR - both under DH, as I'm at 5/24 - and are working on those spends now. It's not rocket science, but it's getting us 2+ weeks in France on the cheap! Thanks for all the advice in this thread to guide us!

I do need to figure out what cards to use after we finish the current two, though. We are both at 5/24 now, but my oldest should fall off on December 1st. So, I really should hold off on applying until then and get a CSP at that point (to transfer points to DH's CSR). But it's making me crazy to have a few months with no bonus to hit! But I guess we can get something else under DH (he'll be 5/24 for a long time) and I can direct most spending to that, as I am now with his A+ card. Hmmmm, decisions, decisions. I could also use one of our hotel cards for spend and save for future travels. I don't know. My small bit of crazy is that we are flying Icelandair and I see they have a credit card - I'm thinking we both get those early next year and get the bonus (for using card once!) and it should be enough to redeem for free meals/snacks on our flights!

Happy (and free) travels, all!

@Dugette Your France trip sounds awesome! Just curious, what part of Nebraska are you going to? I'm a native lol :)
We're staying in Omaha, but will probably go to the big Homestead National Monument shindig with Bill Nye and all, so long as we get there early enough to get in. Hoping for good weather to see the eclipse, but if nothing else, we love the Omaha Zoo (and will go either way)!

I talked DF into applying for the CSR because we have our last wedding expenses coming up this month. I told him this weekend how they'd probably see him as 5/24 due to his AU Amex card (that was open for 3 days), and how he should apply this morning and then he'd probably have to call recon, but it should be easy because his score and everything else is good. I debated CSR vs CSP for this because the bonus values after fees are within $25 (with CSP being $25 higher), but I decided to go with the CSR because he can mostly likely get work to reimburse him for global entry in the next year :)

He just filled out his application and got an instant approval! Are CSRs still getting overnighted automatically? Or who do I have him call for that?
