I love credit cards so much!

any success on the uber? slickdeals thread report a ton of cancellations.

Walmart.com is notorious for cancelling e-gift card orders. I successfully ordered a $100 Uber GC using Chase Pay, then tried for one more and got cancelled twice. I contacted customer service through chat who gave me various lame excuses why my order might get cancelled -- even because I used Chase Pay and suggested I use a different method of payment. I told her that I used Chase Pay for my first order and didn't have problems. I informed her that cancellations of e-gift card orders happen to me all the time, and asked if she could check if there was some kind of fraud alert on my account.

After a pause, she replied:

Thank you very much for your patience today. After carefully checking the order, my records show me that your order did not pass some of our security checks during processing. These checks are in place for your protection to prevent unauthorized use of your credit or debit card. I have escalated the order to our higher departments so they can verify if it was cancelled by error. This process can take 30 minutes, but I recommend you to replace your order in 1 hour, just to make sure that our billing team have verified all the information. After you place the order, it may be placed in hold for 24 hours while our billing team verifies all the information, you may receive a call from our validation team to verify some information. If everything is correct, the order will start processing after those 24 hours.

I placed another order for Uber GCs about 1.5 hours later, and it went through fine. Got my second card in less than 10 minutes.

Well hot darn I'm on a Walmart streak tonight, put my last order in for a visa gift card and put a Netflix electronic gift card on this one and it was delivered within 5 mins! Here's hoping my Visa cards make it in the mail next week! (Visa gift card note- I got a $0.25 discount on each of my last two orders by selecting the shipping option arriving one day later, idk if this was there on my first purchase a few days ago but it was there today.)

I'm not much into MS. Which Visa cards are you buying, and how are you planning to liquidate them?

Trying to place an order just now at Walmart.com and in the payment section, the little square for Chase Pay says "temporarily not available." I knew I should have checked the disboards earlier today!

Dangit! I really thought my sign-up bonus chasing days were over. Then I saw the Barclaycard Arrival Plus offer and I'm like an addict over here. Fingers itching to start the application process!

Thing is, I just got a Citi Double Cash a few weeks ago. I feel like I'm really pushing it with the cards. I've applied for and gotten 8 cards over the past year. Is that too many?? I'm not worried about my credit score. It's fine and I'm not going to use it for anything (except getting more credit cards, apparently!) anytime soon.

I closed my CSP recently too because I knew the annual fee would be coming around in a few months (actually December, I think) and I just don't use the card much.

But here's Barclaycard popping up with 50,000 points for $3k spend in 90 days and an $89 annual fee that is waived for the first year. And we're heading to Disney in December.

I already have a Barclaycard CashForward, and I enjoyed using it (done with it now...Citi Double Cash and Discover It rule my pocketbook at the moment).

Should I apply??? Our flights are already booked with points that I earned on the Southwest Visa (also now closed), resort is paid in full, but even if I get an extra $500 cash back statement credit, that's money in the bank to put towards Disney in my mind.

Plus, I just read it earns 2X miles on every dollar spent on every purchase!

Every time I think I'm OUT, these credit card companies just pull me back IN! LOL!

50,000 will only stmt credit towards travel charges FYI.

It says in the details of the card that it can be travel credit or cash back credit (as if they're two separate things). Either way, I had planned to charge everything we spend while at Disney (meals, etc) to the room and then use the card to pay that off, so I would think that would have worked as a travel credit.

But...*sigh*...I got greedy and applied. Got the dreaded "We'll send you something in the mail explaining why you didn't get approved" screen. Dangit. My first denial. I guess that's what I get, LOL!

Oh well!

$200 Visa Vanilla gift card. I calculated after activation fee a $13.80 profit turned into $24.15 on my CSR when redeemed for travel. Not great but I'm not picking up 10% on my Disney gift cards anywhere else right now. I bought Disney cards from BJs (I think it will be successful) and will use the remainder $10 either to load to Amazon or spend in everyday life (groceries, fast food, etc.) will probably try the grocery route in the next couple days.

And my Walmart luck came to an end. Got a notification my Visa gift card has been delayed :(

You can redeem your points for a non-travel statement credit and/or gift cards, but your 50,000 points will only get you $250 in value. As @gottalovepluto pointed out, the best value is to redeem for eligible travel purchases.

I plan to start some MSin starting this weekend with the staples deal. meta bank backed cards should work at Walmart, all others should work at PO.

MO route? My concern is what happens after PO? I could take a Vanilla(?) Visa to PO, get a MO, and then turn that into cash at (prob a different) a PO to deposit to my bank? (My bank "collection" right now frowns on MOs...) I thought, and read, a lot about liquidating these Visas, but still feel unknowledgeable.

you typically deposit them into banks your willing to lose. My bank that im planning to deposit MO at is Wells Fargo. If that one gets shut down, id probably find some random credit union to deposit them, then transfer them back to my account.

Ugh! Last time applied for the CIP, Chase used Experian and I couldn't get them to remove the AU from consideration. So I went through the dispute process for all 3 credit bureaus to have the AUs removed. Experian came through and this time CIP used Equifax. Of course, those just cleared on Wed after I applied so now I have to call recon on Mon. Hopefully, it will be an easy call since my credit report is showing 3/24.

You could try and call reconsideration. I will say though that Barclay's is a bear to deal. That said, the Arrival+ needs a 5,000 line in order to be opened. If, by chance you have 10,000 line on your other Barclay card, you can see if they'll let you move credit around to open the Arrival+.

Interesting. When I SM'd about one, I was told they don't control the categories, Visa decides it and Chase cannot change it.

Yes, and that is true, but that's what makes it so crazy. When the charge occurs, it codes as "entertainment", therefore no bonus. But when it is cancelled, the refund codes as "dining" and takes away bonus points as if it had given them to me in the first place. They always manually credit for me, but it's such a pain.

I am now $1400 through the $2000 spend on the IHG card. Got lucky and the crib I wanted went on sale. My mom got it for us as a gift, but she told me just to order it and she would reimburse us, so that was a good $500 towards the minimum. Will easily hit the other $600, probably within the next few weeks. Then I get to go back to my Chase trifecta.

And the bonus points on my Marriott card finally posted. It seemed to take so long I started getting worried that I somehow missed the minimum spend. I now have 145,967 points that I plan to convert over to SPG so I can book another night for the hotel in Venice.

I didn't notice that, I'll have to watch carefully

What's everyone's best method of earning staying at WDW with miles/points? Like cards to use and bonuses to seek? We already know about the Starwood card for the Swan and Dolphin, but we would like to try Animal Kingdom Lodge or Wilderness Lodge.

Magic Bands I believe are the way to go. they code as hotels since the charges come from the hotel. ie CSR earning 3x
another idea is buying Disney gift cards at a discount i.e. target red bird or ink card line

What do you mean? I know the packages code as hotels and can be used with a purchase eraser function. Is this what you mean? Are there specific credit cards to earn points with?
