I love credit cards so much!

@SouthFayetteFan, in regards to your issue getting the popup when applying for the Schwab Plat for your wife, I suspect you don't need to put thousands of dollars of spend on your Amex cards. Before applying for the Gold yesterday, I had spent a few weeks putting very small (like $5 and under) charges on some of my Amex cards on a rotating basis (Hilton, Hilton Aspire, SPG Biz, Delta Biz) and that seemed to work. Happily, I have now pretty much put all of those cards back in the sock drawer. (I should also note that I do have other monthly charges set up on autopay on my Plat, Biz Plat, Biz Gold and Biz Green to make sure I have at least one charge a month on those cards and to keep diversifying my URs with MRs.)

It's coming up on the CIP portal as well using the same method. The promo rate for Disneyland early 2019 is even available (3 Day Hopper for $260 incl tax or 20,800 UR).
OHMYGOSH I just opened up Our thread and saw this post—— OHMYGOSH!!!! Off to read more about this! (I’m trying so hard not to squeal like a kid at Christmas right now #AdultingIsHard )

Ok...Upon further review, requiring the flexible option here is a POTENTIAL MAJOR downer.

In my family's example...it adds $340.78 to the cost of the 8-day tickets to make them "flexible". So that ends up costing more UR points. If I buy Disney GCs using a BCP at 6% back and can save 12% on the Disney GCs, there's barely any savings using my CSR...

EDIT: I guess this cost component would vary based on your travel dates and may be a non-factor if you're going at the busiest (i.e. most expensive) times of year.
[insert bad words here] alas I have some solace in the DL tickets.

Drug DH to Kohls to look at a few things before ordering. For our $80 in Kohls cash plus $10 more dollars, we got 2 spatulas, 2 big spoons, 2 peelers, 2 oven mitts, 2 pot holders, and a knife set that has a chef's knife and paring knife. And we saw it all in person so we could actually feel it, and I feel like it's all decent stuff. Definitely miles ahead of my college kitchen stuff. I honestly cant remember how I used to cut chicken in college, I dont recall having a knife ever.

So $250 OOP minus $10 savings from Kroger coupon, for kitchenaid mixer, the things listed above, $10 RMN, 700ish RR pts, $20 in gas savings, and a handful of various credit card points

Good idea! Maybe I’ll start making daily small payments to Comcast on each of my cards and see if that fixes things.

My Amex Hilton statement cut and I it doesn't reflect the extra points for the Amazon spend (10x a dollar up to $500).

I didn't get the 20,000 bonus points yet either since I didn't hit that spend by the last statement cut... but I'm concerned. I thought the offers would stack. I did enroll in both... so I'll chat with Amex tomorrow I guess.

My Southwest Priority card came today...it's a very dark blue with a hint of glitter...my favorite! I'm so excited to break it in and start using some of the benefits on my Christmas flight!

Why does my churning-averse husband keep getting these credit card offers in the mail? In the space of a week he's gotten two Capital One offers, a personal Amex Green offer, and the personal Gold 50k offer! Why don't I ever get fun mailers?

I just googled it and it is a one-time offer. You can do this at places besides gas stations. I see CVS and 7-Eleven on the list. I may do this. Thanks again.
No problem. I totally think it’s worth it when you’re getting the 25% back.

All I get is discover It mailers lol. Our southwest biz card should be in the mail at home. We haven’t been home for a week since we are at my parent’s house but we get back tomorrow. We have to meet our MSR quick so we can book flights to get to/from lax in May and June

Personal Gold bonus posted today. The 2k minimum spend is so nice! I really like how Amex looks at total spend and not deductions for the credits etc. I also had lunch at Cheesecake Factory for the credit. Sadly last month it went to waste.

Speaking of credits...just in case there are any Delta hostages who are fairly new to these airfare credits on the MR cards I feel like I better post my $50 mistake. For the flight credit I knew you had to buy $50 increments for Delta. I had done that for the Gold and had no issue with the coding/credit posting. BUT what I didn’t realize is that you have to buy those gift cards on a non mobile device. I bought a $50 card from my ipad this weekend...turns out (complete with a red lettered word of warning on Flyer Talk that I found this morning) that the $50 gift cards as of December 2017 have to be bought from a non mobile device. If it is a mobile device it codes as a gift card purchase.

My plan for now is before the end of the year book 2 flights with the companion certificate (hoping taxes/fees on it will at least code for travel credit) and then get a couple more gift cards. As if being a Delta hostage was not difficult enough; this is a new wrinkle!

@SouthFayetteFan :worship:

After telling my Mom about the Spring deal at Disneyland the parents decided for Xmas they wanted to take us to F&W in DCA. Since the family that travels together churns together I told her about this deal asap & helped her get the tickets with their stash of URs via their CSR.

5 day Disneyland Park Hoppers for 4 people acquired for 77k URs under the spring special. (I’m still in system shock.) It gave her a chance to print the vouchers at the end. Did so. Went to dinner (she was NOT going to eat dinner & come back to find this dead!), after she scanned them into her Disneyland app & assigned names to each ticket.

What the hades? AmEx Green card referral bonus is cash not MR?! I've had this plan since the universal links came out for hubby to use his Green link to self refer to the BBP assuming he'd get 10k MR, but it's offering a $100 stmt credit. Ugh, now have to decide if we want the points to do it from my ED link or just take the stmt credit. Ugh. I know most people would say the points but for us, they're about equivalent and the stmt credit would just be easier to use if not the best value potential.

Guess we probably should have looked at that before but points > points, cash > cash just made sense. (and no one wants a Green card so we've never generated a link before. )

Better to just refer DH to the Amex Gold from your BBP for 15k MR to you, and the same 50k MR offer for DH.

Oh, I know it'd definitely be better to self-refer....it's just funny because he's very anti-credit card, and yet they keep trying to lure him in with a mailer showing up every other day. While I'm over here all "Why don't they want to offer meeeee any credit cards? :charac2:" ('cause they've already got me, that's why :) )
