Omg we had so many issues with this on our trip. People constantly stopped in the middle of the walkway to look at something. It’s a good thing we were paying attention or we would’ve ran right into them. We waited 2 hours for a fireworks spot (longer than I’ve ever waited but it was packed) and people kept coming in to find a spot like 10 minutes before fireworks. We were packed in there so tight. I just kept saying, “There isn’t any room up there. We’ve been waiting here for 2 hours to have this spot.” There were people with double strollers running right into people trying to get a spot. They didn’t care if they were running into a kid or not.

I'm hyperaware about where I'm at compared to others. My husband on the other hand :rolleyes1 I'm constantly having to tell him to move to the side or get out of the way!

Also, this makes me thankful that my kiddos aren't really into the parades, and I'm the only one who cares about the fireworks (which means we don't ever stay for them!). I can't handle the rudeness and boldness of some people. It gives me so much anxiety, so I try to avoid it.

Pretty much our same feelings too... We went for Christmas, Summer (Early June) and two weeks ago... I think this last trip was about as busy as Christmas. Its a small world was a 65min wait!!! The Halloween party (Not sold out) was so much more crowed than the sold out Christmas party we attended. Slinky dog went down four hours before our FP, about two hours before our FP I was talking to one of the CM and he said they just got the parts here and he didn't know how long it would be... It never did reopen that day. It was a decent trip, but I agree we wont be back for awhile, and the Chase/Disney stuff pretty much sealed that deal. :rotfl2:
We saw it’s a small world at 50! I couldn’t believe people were waiting in line that long. This was before a Halloween party too and I was told those days are supposed to be less packed since the hours are shorter. That was our busiest day at mk.

This is something DH and I discuss all the time. Not just at Disney, but anywhere we go. Nobody has any spatial awareness or concept of other people being around them anymore. It amazes me how people will just come to a dead stop in the middle of a sidewalk to look at their phone or something else without checking to see if anyone is around them. It's really not that hard to move off to the side of the walkway..

Totally agree!!! People are so clueless, even grocery shopping is a challenge with these people!!

I was stressed the entire two hours we waited for fireworks. We had an awesome view but Dh said never again. He said we tried it once and that’s enough.

I feel like part of the problem with this is how the CMs cont to tell people to push in, then people don't push in, so they start sending people in from the general area to fill in the spots. In Aug this happened to DD and myself. I was so sick of the CMs telling us to fill in all available space I finally turned around and said we are all already in each others personal space. We can't move any closer! I don't know why they do that. There is a whole park to watch in. No need to all sit on top of each other.

This would all be solved if they made people sit. I can’t tell you how many wheel chairs I saw with a spot and then everyone stood up in front of them. They had no idea people were going to stand so they were left not being able to see a thing. It was really sad. I picked a spot right on that right wall by the castle with a trash can in front of me. I didn’t move when they said to move forward and no one could stand in front of me

That's why we paid for the dessert party, it's soooooooooooooo expensive, but to not be out in the main crowd, it's so worth it.
I do agree about the dessert party in MK. I don't eat much at them, but to avoid the hub it is worth it if you are only traveling with a small party. If my whole family is there, no way.

yes, true! But for whatever reason they make those sitting stand up instead. :sad2:

We did the dessert party for MNSSHP but just because we got the parade viewing with it. We didn’t like the dessert party itself. We were at the terrace though and couldn’t see everything because we got stuck under the roof. I’m not sure why they would ever stick people there when you’re paying $80 pp for the seat

I was totally going to suggest that! @speedyfishy could totally MS the heck out of that $25k/year cap on the supermarket bonus category. At 1.19% fee on a $500 VGC, 4x MR is a total money maker.

yeah, im about half way done MSin my CI+ right now. not sure if ill hit the cap this year. aiming for it. :P
the 4x limited to 25k was seen by the MS world as a negative... haha.

Uhhh, I got a $2.43 credit for "amex error" on 10/27 on my personal spg and I have no idea why. They didn't miscredit any offers, I got my bonus. What can I buy for $2.43? Amazon reload seems like the most prudent idea...

How to choose..... My RMN award on my latest Staples buy just posted and I moved to Paypal. I see the offer again in RMN so going to do this again. With the last one I used Hilton Biz with the 10% AMEX offer. I could use CIC for 5x UR. If I do the math - CIC = 75 * 5 =375 points * 1.5 = $5.62 cash equivalent (moved to CSR). 10% AMEX = $7.50 cash. Seems better to stick with AMEX at least until I max that out. Which brings up another question - how do I see how much I have used on that offer? Is there some sort of tracker on AMEX?

REMINDER: Today, 10/31/18, is the LAST DAY to apply for the elevated 100k Marriott points public offers on the SPG BIZ and SPG LUX.

And HAPPY HALLOWEEN, everyone.
Torn between AMEX Gold and SPG BIZ. Not really certain that I could get the biz. I do have the CIC as my only business card.
What's the difference between Starriott points and MR?

Yes. You can (self-)refer to the SPG cards from another SPG card for 20k Marriott points. But, if the welcome offers drop down to 75k Marriott points after today, you won't do better than the targeted 125k offer even with a self-referral. However, Amex offers go up, go down, go back up again, with a lot more frequency than Chase.
I have the SPG Lux offer, but am not thrilled about the AF of $450.

Asking for my cousin again...If you wanted to begin accruing points for travel to Europe and Asia over next couple of years, would you pick AA or Delta cards to focus on? Or MR's? He seems to not like the idea of collecting MR's, and wants to target an airline's points. He worked for Delta for years but his benefits expire in 2019 so he and his family have been able to fly standby. He's obviously trying to figure out a solution going forward. I'm not sure how to advise as we don't travel int'l at all.

My first consideration would be what airport he is flying out of and it it is a hub for AA or Delta. Also, are those the only airlines that fly to Europe from his airport?

Next, would be, is he flying coach, biz or first. Most of the time, but not always, you will do better by paying in variable points (UR, MT, TYP) for coach tickets than by transferring to an airline. There are exceptions of course.

MR will give better options as they transfer to both Delta and BA which is a OW partner, plus they have more airline partners than Chase and the offer bonuses for transferring to airlines periodically. I would suggest he consider the amount of taxes and fees on award tickets with certain airlines when they connect or land in London.

LOL I remember that story! I used to love that thread. Haven't checked it out in a long time.

I'm with @calypso726, these posts really reaffirm my choice not to have kids :rotfl2: I can't remember ever really being "bad" in Disney as a kid, or at least my mom has never said anything about it. I do remember one instance of completely having a meltdown in the park though that my dad loves to tell. I LOVED Fievel from American Tail and had a stuffed animal of him. I insisted on carrying it into the parks and then promptly lost it in the Honey I Shrunk the Kids section. I completely lost my $*@! and was hysterical. I'm sure there was at least one "This is why we told you not to carry it with you" uttered at me.

I did eventually get another Fievel though :rotfl2:

OMG! I adored that movie and Fievel! I had a stuffed Fievel too and was quite smitten with that toy. Oh thanks for the memories and nostalgia :-)

Think this should be the right place to get help.
I receive a paper check but will move to Direct deposit. Are there any bonus I can earn for opening an account?
I currently bank with Chase as primary and have accounts at Citi and HSBC.

Oh let me tell you, ever since we moved to Washington DC, I've lost my patience with that stuff. I tell people coming at me from the opposite direction "Hey! Eyes up!" to keep them from running into me. Or, if I notice we're going to collide because they're not paying attention, I've stopped altering my path. I just run into them, and yell "Pay attention!" I like to think I'm changing the world, one clueless phone user at a time.

But probably not.

My mom taught me at a young age while walking at the mall to stand your ground and make the other person move. It makes sense and helps avoid the dance until both of you both stand your ground or one is on the phone. I will move sometimes though, sometimes it's just easier esp if it's just me and more of them.
