You should have two options to pay your DVC dues via your SPG card.
You can either pay them off in full 1x using the card
Or
Purchase Disney GC and apply those to your dues. Unless something has changed since I did this in April you can apply partial payment using gift cards. The benefit here would be if you buy discounted gift cards, like at Sam’s Club.
Either way you can get that spend on your card.
Hm that seems silly. But the promo started 9/1 and only got notified now, maybe it's rolling out in batches? I checked the Chase Pay app and don't see it advertised so have no idea how anyone would have known about it until the email. Hopefully more reports roll in as people get the emails.I have the CSP but I didn’t get an email for that card, just the CFU. I’m happy about the 6.5%, but I would be even happier if I could use it for 6% with the CSP too!
I guess we’d know for sure if someone used chase pay with one of those cards but didn’t get the email... I’m not willing to take the risk, so I won’t judge anyone else that isn’t either lol.
I guess my only question is their business office open by phone on Saturdays (today) or do I have to wait until Monday? Impatient one here. The other part is I've got enough Disney gift cards to pay it for a year or two and will be forgoing that discount to get the spend. And, sort of kicking myself that I've direct debited this for 18 years..... @calypso726 made me rethink this sometime back but I still hadn't changed it over.
Edit: called and it is Mon to Fri.
Thanks for reporting back - this whole bonus delay thing is very sucky (that's a technical churning term I use)...
If ANYBODY sees points post from a sign-up bonus on a Chase Card PLEASE report back here...Hopefully they get this fixed sometime soon.
Question about 0% APR:
I opened the CFU in April of this year. I wasn't thinking about the 0% APR because I don't normally open cards with that in mind. Under the Interest Charges section of my statement, it says that the 0% APR for introductory purchases expiration date is 9/1/19. I know this sounds so silly, but does this mean I could hold a balance on this card and not pay any fees if I pay it by 8/31/19?
I'm planning on applying for the Disney rewards (I decided on the no annual fee card - it sounds like it gets all the perks except for the 2%, but I have other cards that give that, and I can use a referral link from dischurners now) and the Discover It on Monday. Now I'm thinking, if I'm not happy with the credit limit I get on the Discover It, I could technically use this card too!
Yes.
Now, if you had one for balance transfers, you will probably pay anywhere from a 3-5% BT fee. This would be shown before any balance transfers are confirmed.
Thanks for the explanation! I actually don’t have any balances on any cards, I always pay them off in full. I was asking because of the reply I got (above) from @MrPTato when I asked about 0% for purchases. I didn’t ask about balance transfers in my original post because I’ve never found reason to do one before, but I was wondering if this was another factor I should be considering.BT's are pretty straight forward, you get CC a to make a payment on CC b. Call up CC A and ask for it, you may be able to do it all on the phone, or they'll direct you to how to do it yourself. Some cards I think you can do online now but I haven't done one in ages so I haven't looked for it on my accounts. The thing to remember about BTs is there's no grace period on interest charges, as soon as CC B deposits it interest starts accruing. Since you have 0% for right now that doesn't matter much in this case cuz you're going to pay it off well beforehand right?
Most Chase cards I've looked at have a higher fee than others, 5% fee vs 3%. So have to see if that one time 5% is better than other options. But your cheapest option is trying to make a purchase at 0% interest. Can you split it to just put that amount directly to the CFU? Or is this in case you open a card without a 0% interest offer?
I too used direct debited until this January, when I used my SW cards to hit the spend...for 2019...my plan is to get the CIC and buy Disney gift cards at Staples to pay the dues.
Agreed! I thought it was strange that it started on 9/1 but I only got that email today. If I get an email for the CSP I’ll update here.Hm that seems silly. NOOOOOOOOOOOOO ....... I guess it's my own fault...... I went back and found the link at DoC...when I clicked it this time it only offered 15k to upgrade.....so I guess I lost that first big offer I saw when I looked last week....
there is no way 15k points is worth a 5k spend to me.....
I'm thinking of stopping in this morning to get another and then tonight on my way home.... one at a time should work right? my store is obviously under the radar for everyone bc there's no shortage of choices
I was able to book one night at the Contemporary and 2 DAH tickets via Chase UR Tour department. I had to do 2 separate transactions because she couldn't figure out how to add the DAH tickets to the resort reservation. It took about 15 minutes, but she got it done. She sent the DAH ticket confirmations immediately and I was able to link those in MDE with the confirmation #. She forgot to send the resort reservation confirmation, I had to call back this morning, but I was able to get that emailed to me pretty quickly.

I assume I can go today and get another tho, just don't input my staples reward acct.... i wish I had known about this earlier I would have maxed it out!!

I’m hoping for a decent CL on the Discover to take advantage of the 0% for 14 months, but I know it might not be great since it’s my first Discover.
Thanks! You are in that window of people that saw points go pending before all the delays popped up.P2's CIP bonus posted with statement close as expected yesterday. MSR was met 3 weeks before statement close - not sure of exact date due to some credits, but somewhere around Aug 14th.
Sorry for all those experiencing delays and I am not sure if our experience is good news or not as it doesn't support the systemwide problem theory.
ETA: The points were showing as pending for at least two weeks.
Thanks! I’m anxiously awaiting that application and hoping for the best. I’ve never cared about a CL before now lol.I received a decent limit (enough for your needs) on my Discover IT and had no previous relationship with Discover either. Of course, that doesn't mean the same with happen for you. I am sure they take a lot into consideration.
As for the 0% - I never considered it as I pay off in full. But I am currently taking advantage of the 0% on my Discover card due to lots of unexpected bills.
I don’t have a CSR but I just got that email this morning for the CFU:
Use Chase Pay with your Freedom Unlimited card at Best Buy stores, online at restaurants on Tock and online at eBags September 1-30, 2018, to earn an extra 5% cash back (in addition to the usual 1.5%) per $1 spent on up to $200 total in purchases.
Hopefully more emails are coming everyone’s way! It seems targeted because it says this promotional offer is nontransferable.
I wish they did these offers at other stores besides Best Buy. I only go there to use these special offers for Disney gift cards... I’m afraid one day they’ll catch on!
Don’t take this the wrong way but if you don’t see those points pending on the UR site already, I would not have high hopes. I hope I’m wrong for your sake...(and for all our sanity)...but I’m probably not.
You can pay via credit card online. Just go to your account and select the contract you want to pay. You’ll neee to pay in full though unless using gift cards.
pretty sure I made my dues payments online in January....is that an option for you ?
