Can someone help me understand Amex MRs? When I log in, I see that I have 0 MRs. So not only does that mean that the referrals for my and my DH's Biz Greens didn't credit, but also I'm not getting any points for my purchases. My first statement just closed and doesn't say anything about MRs. Help please!

Yes, the Biz Plat and Biz Green are my first. I can see the pending points now though, so all is good!

It may be property-specific, but when I asked about it at the Springhill Suites that we stayed overnight in the answer was no. It had to be a cash rate to get the parking included.

I tried this a few years back and was told no. However, some properties will allow you to leave your car there for a fee, I've seen $10 - $12/night. The problem with this is that it is on request at check-in and if their parking lot is near capacity they may say 'No availability' and then you have a problem.

Agreed, we stayed somewhere in Tampa pre-Cruise (I totally forget which one, sorry) and paid points or used free night. They had a cruise "rate" that included shuttle to the pier, it was same price, IIRC, but you have to book that rate code. We assumed using the points we couldn't get that but when we asked about scheduling the shuttle they said we should have called, they do the shuttle with points too and we could have got it for free. So I think it's up to the property, can't hurt to call to see.

What I typed was vague looking back on it. I should have said...will a gift card purchase trigger the requirement or should I add on something else small so its not an even amount.

I bought a $50 Disney card this morning and it shows as pending. Last week I only bought a MCGC and it posted as well.

Interesting about SW...it seemed that quite a few people here received some sort of credit to keep the card...my statement should close today...so I’ll be trying for a retention offer on my SW plus..will report back what happens

It really does vary. The first rep I spoke with when I called for a retention offer tried to convince me to cancel because I already had several cards and didn't need them all, lol. I was speechless. I did HUCA and was offered $35 statement credit for the Plus. I will be calling soon on the premier so I can't wait to see what I get this time! I have the Biz too but I will be canceling. I have my eye on that CIC.

I don’t think I’ve seen anything about how Marriott plans to handle points transfers after the loyalty programs merge on 8/18.

With SPG, currently, you can transfer points (in 1,000 points increments) to other SPG members in your household, who have shared the same address for at least 30 days, with no limit on the number of points and no fee. The SPG program is being folded into Marriott, but I don’t know if SPG’s points transfer feature is too. With Marriott, currently, can transfer points (in 1,000 points increments) to any other Marriott member, up to a maximum of 50,000 points per year, for a $10 fee. Gold and Platinum members aren’t charged a fee.

Has anyone upgraded their SW Plus or Premier cards to the New Priority card...I’m looking into it since I received an upgrade offer but can’t find any information on if it resets the 24 month bonus clock...if it does I’ll pass but if not I’m interested since we fly SW a lot and will use the $75 travel credit...and the 4 upgraded boarding would be nice too

I believe it is supposed to reset the anniversary. I'm hoping for an upgrade offer but still no dice. I'm okay resetting since I only just passed my anniversary date. They do refund the 'unused' portion of your AF and then charge the $149 AF, from my understanding.

I saw that some have had to HUCA, and am prepared to do so....right now I have the plus opened 7/16...which I’m going to keep even if no retention offer.....the Business and Premier I’ll close in October after the bonus RR points post.

I'm trying to hit CP this year - and should be able to based on work travel and shopping habits (sold hurricane Harvey house and bought a new house that we now need to fully furnish and do some updates to ((hello new water heater)) ), but I am eyeing that SW business card to help me get there. So conflicted!

I did. I read somewhere it does not reset the bonus clock, but I can't confirm yet. My card looks like the new priority card when I log in (has the heart on it), but I haven't received anything letting me know it has been upgraded. I haven't received my bonus points or been charged the annual fee. I should probably call and ask about it!

My anniversary was 7/18...I can see the 3,000 rr points pending along with the $69 fee..the statement closes today so I’m going to call tomorrow and hopefully get a retention offer.....if I do I’ll wait until it posts to do the upgrade offer......I guess if it pushes out the 24 month between SW personal cards bonus to 8/20...I can always have my P2 open SW cards in 1/20 to get the CP again

I heard back from Chase that they will apply my $35 credit for my plus in the next one to two billing statements. Looking back I realized they technically offered me $34 on the phone, I wrote $35 in my SM... oops. Will be awaiting impatiently.

I'm also starting to wonder if I will get an upgrade offer for the Priority card. I feel like Chase/SW are confused as to if I have the Plus or the Premiere. I have the Plus but only get Plus card mailer offers... like once a week!

Yes, I guess that's true! I read somewhere it should only reset the anniversary like others mentioned, not the bonus. I just checked and I applied to upgrade on 7/25. This is what I received:

We received your request and, as long as you continue to meet our credit criteria, it may take up to four business days for your upgrade request to be approved and new benefits to take effect. Your new card will arrive within 7 to 12 business days after the upgrade is approved.

You'll also receive a letter explaining the new annual fee and when it will apply, as well as your right to reject the change to your product and the associated annual fee.

ETA: I just called and they mailed my card on 8/10. Annual fee will post 9/1. Bonus points will post next statement after making one purchase.

Does anyone knows if I can book park+fly hotel in a Marriott hotel with Marriot points?

I don’t think we are supposed to. However I was able to show the manager at the MSP Hyatt Place screenshots of how I was able to reserve room and check the box to “ book with points” from the hotel website and he lets me pay $5/day parking.

Just booked MVMCP tickets using Chase UR. I spent 26,346 UR using my CSR for 3 Adults, 1 Child for Friday, November 9th party tickets. Total came to $395.12 using th AP rate. Looks like we are doing MNSSHP and MVMCP this year thanks to points! Everything linked to mde seamlessly.
