Scary, a small Q400 Bombardier plane was hijacked from SeaTac tonight, allegedly by an employee. It was an AS plane (two prop and 76 seats). Scary no matter what, but we live south of the airport about 9 miles and while not directly under the flight path, close enough to see them and often tell which airline it is flying by. Planes typically turn a bit south of us so I often see my house from the plane window, and yes still close enough to the ground to be able to pick it out. The ground stop has lifted and planes are back to taking off to the south so I'm hearing them frequently.

The hijacked plane has crashed but it's not yet known how it happened, he was quickly met by two F15's that I believe are scrambled out of Portland. It does seem that it was a joyride as conversation with ATC was about him wanting to do a barrel roll, which he may have done.
yikes!

Yeah. It's come out that it was a mechanic, but unknown employer. Was a Horizon plane, but that's still tech AS just a different livery. He did crash of his own doing, either from air stunts or not knowing what he was doing. Crashed into a sparsely populated island in south Puget Sound. Airport is back to normal. Crazy stuff.

Someone on my FB cruise group posted that she was stuck on the tarmac waiting for this thing to end so the planes could take off. I was shocked that something like this could even happen. Crazy!

Hopefully she's been on one of the many planes that has taken off in the past hour :) And I hope it didn't spoil the end of her cruise and she enjoyed Seattle. We had good weather this week.

With both I’m at over 50%. The individual credit lines on each of my personal cards are fairly small, so there’s not much to offer to move around. My only chance would probably be to lower the limits on my business cards and then try calling.

But I think I’ve decided to just walk away from it in favor of applying for the SPG Lux. That bonus is rumored to be 125K points, plus I’ll definitely be able to use the $300 Marriott credit and Global Entry credit next year.

Sounds like a good plan for you.....Chase will.not move credit from a business card to a personal card anyway.....if your going to apply for another personal....reduce the credit limits on the business cards way before so a statement will close and show on your credit report with the lower limit

We upgraded our Marriott Premier to the Plus for the 10,000 points and better free night redemption. The original card was opened in December of 2016. I expected them to charge the additional $10 fee now and then charge the $95 in December. Instead, they refunded the old card $35 and I assume have charged the new card the $95. Now I’m wondering if we get our next free night in December or July of next year. Does anyon know yet how they are handling this?

When did you do the upgrade? My card was opened Dec 2017, and I want my free night then so haven't upgraded yet, just for this reason that I didn't want to push back my free night, if indeed that would happen. Eventually I think I will want the higher value free night so I will probably do the upgrade as soon as I assess what is happening. Right now I can use the night as is.

Thanks to the Hamilton enablers on this thread :worship: we are all set to go see it again  This time in DC. I found tickets for the last Saturday evening performance of the Washington, DC run. We are staying at the Willard  on IHG points. We also decided to use some AA gift cards to purchase our flights over for the weekend. I'm so happy right now!!!! DH and I will be checking out the cool list @striker1064 sent us for the foodie options!

Yayy! Love that you are coming! Just hope that you bought your tickets directly from Kennedy Center, as there are a lot of unauthorized sellers out there! Every show ends up being a sell out but not usually until day off or day before, because of the way Kennedy Center releases tickets. Give yourself some time to enjoy the venue and to take some selfies from the terrace area (before it gets dark) which surrounds the KC, as it is an amazing view of the city and surrounding area!

I did the upgrade in either late June or early July. I asked the rep on the phone and was told my anniversary free night wouldn’t change but who knows if that’s correct. I already have the free night for this year scheduled to be used in a couple of weeks so I don’t expect to lose that one, just not sure when the next one will come. Since you haven’t yet hit your first anniversary I definitely understand why you would want to wait until they actually state how this is going to work. The wording now is vague.

Did anyone answer #3? Because I keep thinking there is a reason I originally planned to keep at least one of my CSR/CSP. I don't need either so would like to convert them to CF and CFU but can I still transfer my points to DHs CSR if I just have the cash back cards? I can't change till December and I don't know why I am worried about it now because there is so much information flow on this thread I will likely forget and ask again.

Yes, @Ava can still transfer UR from his Freedom, Freedom Unlimited, and CIC to DW’s CSR.

Yes, you can transfer points from a CF and CFU to your DH’s CSR.

There’s been no change to Chase’s UR transferability rules as of now.

Busy few days here as well as at work...breaking in the CIP, oh how I love a new credit card, for whatever reason just so much more satisfying spending money then doing bank bonuses:rolleyes1 Already have a plan for using those UR's for a disneyland trip next year. I'm still hoping to manage a CP with SW early next year with likely a double dip since I'm 4/5, then will upgrade my CSP at it's one year anniversary to the CSR for the redemption benefit and travel credit. A couple credit cards drop off in the first few months of the new year and I really don't have a solid plan for what to get next...no real travel goals, probably will just keep saving URs, Marriott and maybe acquire some United points with possibility of another Hawaii trip in the next couple years...I'm not too worried as whatever points I earn I'll find something to use them on--likely disney! CIP is my first business card and I'll probably be looking at some AMEX business cards until my planned double dip...

This weeks goal is to find my next bank bonus!

Would it be inconvenient to stay at one hotel near DL and spend some time at uni? Ds10 keeps asking to do uni, although he means FL, but he may have to deal.
we did this a few years back with no problems- We stayed right near DL for 7 nights.... did 6 days at the parks( love the parks,DH only did 4) one day drove up to Universal (dear lord....the traffic:eek:) I'd do it again...to me Uni Hollywood is only good for a day- but I choose Uber rather than drive myself again. It was lots of fun.

I didn’t end up going as I changed my flight so I got home last night. (Busy family weekend and while DC is great I wanted to get home). But had to say you all are enablers by extension! While I was sitting in the conference and we were posting about it at the KC my friend went over there to see about same night stand by standing room only. He was too late for that but was able to buy a turned in single season pass holder ticket from the box office for next night. Word from last night was that he “loved it, was worth every penny, but his marriage is going to be rocky for a little while now lol.” Wife was home with the kids and didn’t go...apparently she is a big fan.

I do now have another new mission to take my family to DC on points in the next year or two. I think they would love it. Last time we all went my oldest was 2 and the others weren’t even born yet.

Must investigate why I made a car payment with DHs CIP on the 1st yet Toyota just did an auto withdrawal from my checking account... I know I cancelled that autopay last month.

ETA: Ahh, figured it out. I only cancelled the recurring payment for last month, not the recurring payment 'profile'

Guess my car gets two payments this month!

So we ate at Olive Garden last night and Dh used his CSR to pay. The waitress came back and said “that is the thickest card I have ever held before. After I put it in the machine I had to pull it out and feel it again”. She seemed beyond amazed lol.
