Question - DH never received the referral bonus for my sister's CIP - is this something we can try to contact Chase about, or just consider it a lost cause?

as far as FR 3rd quarter....I'm thinking I wouldn't mind maxing my categories at Walgreens for the 7500 UR...it would cost me $18(each card so x3) ..... I think that's a fair trade- someone correct me if I'm wrong please? (my head is spinning trying to keep up the the big kids here and all the 'best' ways to get rewards):rotfl2: I'm a 'simple churner' (is there such a thing?) and mostly max categories to keep my small stash of points usable for my needs....

So far, knock on wood, the Marriott points changes have been working out for me. I was checking out Vancouver for pre trip and there's a couple places I can use the 35k free nights from the SPG Biz and the Marriott Biz pre cruise thanks to some decreases. (I forget who mentioned it but thanks to whoever shouted out about the Delta change. That seems super convenient!) Post cruise hubby had a thought for Sonoma and I see a couple places nearby that we can use the 25k night from the Marriott Premier. All the options are showing around $200/night potentially so $279 for 5-600 dollars in rooms, I'm ok with that. Even better if we can get away with getting the nights and then canceling without paying the AF. (but still not sure, might keep the cards. that's next years problem)

But not sure on the Sonoma night(s) yet, who knew it costs roughly the same to fly Alaska > CA as Alaska > PA? Obviously not I. I had assumed it'd be cheaper to fly somewhere on the west coast back from Alaska and then just use SW to get home. Checking some flight options and it's only a few dollars more to just fly straight back. I was really looking forward to checking out somewhere in CA but now I'm having a hard time justifying the extra expense of the split trip even though we could cover it.
That was me. I’m really excited about delta suites:) will be there in 24 days!

Thanks! But I don’t have a discover card. My DD did just get one, but her student limit would not be enough for a MacBook.

Is it close? I know it's new but if it's close might be able to call up and see about an increase for a specific purchase.

DH just approved for Chase Business Unlimited (the business FU). Only a $7000 credit limit but the $50k UR's will be super sweet. As a data point it is his third Chase business card (Ink Preferred, Ink Cash, and now this). It will be a good go to card for him as he is so not all about the categories.

Congratulations! Tres Chase Biz Cards Club!!!

Once we’re near meeting the MSR on DW’s Hilton Biz, we’ll get her signed up for the CIU. She’s like your husband and not into keeping track of bonus categories, so the CSR (dining and travel) + CIU (everything else) will be perfect for her.

I think you can call and request a temporary credit line increase for a specific purchase. It might be worth a phone call for 10% cash back on a MacBook.

Thanks! We don't leave for DL until Sunday morning-- I'll be at a horse show starting tomorrow night until then. I am sooooo ready to go though! Work productivity this week has been... low.

Boy that's like a warm tropical breeze compared to what I'm used to :rotfl2: Actually it's quite cool here (80) today thanks to some massive amounts of rain, but humidity is at 80%. The horse show I'm going to tomorrow is known for being one of the hottest of the year, so after sweating it out with a 1200 pound horse for two days, DL sounds like it'll be kind of nice lol.

Asked at planet fitness and the card on file is in case your primary method fails or if you want to buy a water etc and don't have your wallet. Can't put dues on this card still has to be from your bank acct.

Aww, these make me sad, cause we have Harris Teeter. Owned by Kroger with none of the benefits.

Well, it is a really good grocery store, but coupons dangit!

I would rather have double, triple and super double coupons at ht than the Kroger coupons. Unless they stopped that when they bought it. I would save more that say than on fuel rewards.

I got my brand, spanking new Amex BBP added to my Amex biz account. I notice it shows my MR's from my BGR on the card already (still show up on BGR also). Do I not have to transfer the points to the BBP?

On a side note, I am excited about this card but why, oh why, does it have to look EXACTLY like the Amex BCP and BCE?? That's just not a confusion I need when I'm fumbling through my gazillion cards trying to find the right one to use :scared:

Well, Ive been 3 days now without MSR . I'm the person who just said that hotel cards aren't of much value for me :scratchin. Why then did I just spend the last couple days wondering about the 100,000 point Hilton Business card offer not being sure if/how I would use the points? Then I remembered I found non-stop flights for our December trip to Orlando that arrives a day before our resort stay starts. With possibly 7 of us going, I would need 2 rooms that night. I didn't REALLY want to use my Hyatt points because I value them for my stay park and fly nights, I'm trying to save my UR for car rentals, (or maybe I'm just trying to justify not using those points). The Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek would be 50,000 points/room/night. Long story short, I did it:littleangel:. I am now the proud owner of a new Hilton Business card . Now I need to wonder if this is an addiction, if I was just dealing with FOMO or If I can try to slide this one through and pretend this is some kind of plan :rotfl2:.

You don’t need to transfer points between cards like with Chase. All your MR points from all your MR-earning cards are automatically pooled into one MR account; but you need to have at least one MR-earning card open at all times to keep that account open and your points valid.

I noticed that! At least they’re both credit cards, and it’s not as bad as the old Freedom looking just like a Chase debit card.

Gyft makes no sense sometimes. After hearing the stories from @DaveL and some others, I still tried it and had no issues with the first couple of purchases (bought $100 from HD, a $50 and $25 from WM). Thought I was in the clear, NOPE. My $25 WM purchase today is "under security review" >:( Really? So $100 HD and $50 WM previously were fine, $25 gets flagged for a security review. Called and was told someone needs to review my account to confirm it's me. Recommended that I link my FB or Google ID account for improved verification odds  Seriously?? Social media accounts make my Gyft account more secure, but not the verified mobile number??? :rotfl2: Um, ok...

weird, when i started using gyft, i complained exactly that, it would always deny. They had me verify, i sent in my Drivers License and was verified. I now buy at least 1 $250 card a day with no problems *knock on wood* im not sure why everyone else is having so much issues with it... :\

90% chance it wont happen usually. when did your sister apply? has it been a month? if so, you can always still ask chase and see whats up. maybe they will provide u with an adjustment. maybe...

94° in Anaheim today.

its 94F and its 60% humid too... :\ its so miserable here.

I'm about 99.99999% sure I would take the upgrade to the SW priority card, so I feel impatient looking for an email haha. Am I missing anything here?
  • I just paid $34 for my AF (Plus card) after my retention offer and got my 3k anniversary points
  • They refund 'unused' portion of AF - my AF posted June 1st so assuming I get 9-10mths refunded I'd get $51.75-$57.50 back
  • Charged new $149 AF, so total AFs is $126.50-$132.25
  • I get $75 credit
  • I get 5k points for upgrading (worth $70)
  • As for the boarding upgrades, there's just the two of us and we ended up spontaneously paying for them 3 or 5 times so far this year... still looking at as a perk though instead of monetary value.
Most importantly, I'm just hanging around until I can apply for CIP in October, and then theoretically when we try for DHs companion pass for 2019-2020 I can refer him, same as I'd planned with my plus card. And hopefully the darn bonuses will go up :headache: And my Plus card is only 1 year old, so I don't care about resetting the anniversary date or getting another SW bonus yet.

This makes total sense to me. I'm going to upgrade as I'm in the same boat as you.
Plus, DOC says:
The product is not available to either (i) current Cardmembers of any Southwest Rapids Rewards® Credit Card, or (ii) previous Cardmembers of any Southwest Rapid Rewards Credit Card who received a new Cardmember bonus within the last 24 months.
I think the key is NEW cardmember bonus. This is an upgrade offer, so it shouldn’t reset that clock.

I put a sticker on the edge of hubby's BCE since it looks exactly like my Blue Everyday. That way I can see it before I pull it out of it's slot if it's the right one.

I like consistency in brands but AmEx took it extreme with all their Blues.
