New Disney Visa "Inspire" card

This rollout period will be the easiest time ever to get approved as they 'prove' that the card is a winner. I'm surprised @cruisehopeful didn't get approved with 5/24 waived.
Is 5/24 being waived? Someone on DoC claimed they go it at 6/24 but they haven't responded to requests for details so it could easily be a case of another person not understanding how to track it.

Since I was just rejected for 5/24, I'm considering just upgrading my Premier. Is that a work around for the 5/24?

Would that give me all the benefits of the Inspire except for the sign up bonus? A sign up bonus is wonderful, but I'm pretty sure I'll be ahead of the game with Inspire within a couple months.
You can upgrade and then downgrade after a year and a bit, then apply for the bonus, assuming you're under the 5/24 at that time.

Has anyone else not received their $300 gift card? I was approved yesterday afternoon, and still haven’t received the email (I checked my junk folder). I sent a secure message to Chase, but wondering if anyone else is in the same boat.

As a side note, I was fairly shocked about how good this card is…. Well, if you’re a crazy Disney fanatic! 😊
I have not.

I called them earlier, and they told me it can take 24-48 hours to receive the e-gift card, and that my account showed it had not been sent yet. She told me to wait another day (as I applied on 2/3) and call back again if I don't receive it by EOD tomorrow.

Folks, you're all getting bogged down in the boring "details." More importantly: what design will you choose?!

I was ready to go with Mickey doing the pose, but I currently have the Disneyland 70 design... so I'm thinking Stitch! But what about Coco? Lol
I currently have Maleficent on my Premier Card. (I used to have Tinkerbell, but switched to the 100 Anniversary and didn't realize I couldn't go back to Tinkerbell. So Maleficent it now is. She is the best villain, after all. ;-) )

We went with Stich for the Inspire.

Totally agree!

I think since we're going to DL in June for the 70th (I went last year but DH didn't get to see the special entertainment), I'll choose that design for now and switch it later after that trip

Not that I've heard and it's been awhile since I had 'many' Chase apps, but I did get it waived by calling back in 2018ish. Took me so long to climb down out of that tree as I had Amex going also, I've been on a self-imposed break ever since. That was the year I retired and spent too much time apping for stuff.

Are any of you bothered (like I am) about hard credit checks for new cards dinging your credit score? And, could the GC trigger a 1099?

I applied this morning and was approved instantly. Got the gift card within minutes.

I went with the up design. Have the castle on my no fee Disney card.

I don’t typically like annual fee cards, but will see if the benefits outweigh the fee after the first year. The only card I have with annual fee is the chase sapphire preferred and that always seems to break even for me. I’m thinking the Inspire might end up beginning a keeper with all the credits, as I do spend a ridiculous amount on Disney trips.

No. In the long run apping for and having loads of credit cards has improved my score over time. I used to hover over 800 and now I hover quite a bit over that. Making payments counts. Never miss a payment. Use the cards and don't ever carry a balance unless it is 0%.

And, canceling cards - don't cancel unless you've kept the card at the very least for a year.

Take a look at how your credit score is reached and it will give you a better idea of the mechanics.

The 1099 - I'm not sure what the rules are right now and whether a gift card moves the needle. In the past, referral bonuses that reached $600 (cumulatively) used to trigger a 1099 but I believe that has changed. I haven't heard of sign up bonuses triggering a 1099.

If you are getting ready to buy a house (or are already in that process) or something huge where your credit history goes under a microscope it's wise not to be apping for a card and just to wait until you get through your process.

I'm just now hearing about this card and I want it lol. Im coming upon the 2nd anniversary of having the Disney Premier card.
Do i close that one first before applying for this one?

It would depend on the offer.

As @Duckbug.Ducktales pointed out earlier this my example was from before this Inspire card was offered and was to go from the regular/classic disney card to the Premier.

I think the gift cards are a new thing it used to be just statement credits which imo are better as that means I'm spending less to meet the requirements. If the Inspire card offer was changed to $600 statement credit after spending $1K at for a WDW AP at Disney that means that I would earn $30 in Disney Dollars and I would receive an extra $100 statement credit for the tickets. So if I didn't want to chase the $2k spend or worry about Disney Streaming I could throw the card in a drawer and my total owed to Chase would be $270 ($1,000 - $600 - $100 - $30 Disney Dollars redeemed with PYB). With this same offer I would owe Chase $570 ($1,000 - $300 - $100 - $30 Disney Dollars redeemed with PYB) and be holding a $300 Gift Card which I probably could have purchased for a discount with the $300 I didn't pay chase earlier.
I agree. I applied for the Premier when it was 400 statement credit. Although even getting a gift card for this new card would
be spent right away. lol

On the Chase App, on the main page for the card, click on "Benefits & Rewards". You will see the $10 monthly streaming credit there and be able to activate it.
This was easy to do in the app-- but I assume I have to switch to paying for Disney+ on this card right? Is there a way to do that before getting the physical card?
Yes, booking with a Disney TA is considered booking direct from Disney as the charges will be from Disney. What won't be direct is when the charge says Expedia or Orbitz or anything that isn't Disney.
I am looking forward to hearing reports on this, in particular through the board sponsor www.dvcresalemarket.com because at some point I will need to book a cruise with them. For this year, we already have direct sailings that are awaiting final payment.
I did refer a friend for DH and he signed up this afternoon. No gift card yet though. 🙁
I signed up today via referral link from a friend and also didn't receive any gift card yet. :/

Has anybody had any success getting the full card number before it arrives in the mail? I need to be checking in for a DVC arrival on Saturday and would love to put it on my new card, if possible.

I got my gift card pretty quickly too. Perhaps they got overwhelmed with applications when half the Disboards signed up yesterday afternoon?

I chose the Coco design. Almost went with Stitch but then I remembered my debit card and BoA credit card are red, too.
