I love credit cards so much!

I think it will be a keeper for me as well and if I could finish the spend on my hyatt and meet the spend on the csr without manufacturing spending I would apply before the switch. But I need the help of our DLP stay to help meet the spend.
We have prepaid a lot of utilities in the past few years to meet minimum spends. I think our gas/electric is prepaid for at least another year.

Here it is. So for those who want to double dip get the card now.

$300 Annual Travel Credit: A statement credit will automatically be applied to your account when your card is used for purchases in the travel category, up to an annual maximum accumulation of $300. Annual means the year beginning with your account open date through the first statement date after your account open date anniversary, and the 12 monthly billing cycles after that each year. (For applications submitted before May 21, 2017, annual means the year beginning with your account open date through the first December statement date of that same year, and the 12 billing cycles starting after your December statement date through the following December statement date each year.) Call the number on the back of your card to see when you are eligible for your next $300 Annual Travel Credit.
Bummer. My parents are interested in applying, but they've been holding off on the (likely unrealistic) hope that the bonus will jump back up above 50k. I'm assuming there's no rumor/hope of that, so I guess it's time to apply...

I've now realized my problem with sticking with just UR points. DD needs to fly from Mobile, Alabama to St. Louis this summer and the only flights that work for her schedule seem to be from Delta. She just needs a one way ticket and it's only 10,000 points, but I have no way of getting them quickly :(.

Time to start looking into points from AmEx and Citi so when the next odd-ball flight comes up, I'll have more options.

heh, i had the same issue with my asian flights. Seems like JAL and ANA were the best way to redeem flights, but i needed SPG or MR to transfer. I ended up with flying a LCC.

for delta, you can always transfer to AF or KE, then call them to redeem a delta flight. There is one person in here that had a bad experience with that but i wouldn't put you down into not doing it.
Other way i could think of is using the portal, redeem using points @ 1.5 points CSR style!

Looks like I got in just in time! I received my card yesterday. Does this mean that cardholders who applied prior to May 21st will continue to receive the travel credit each calendar year? That's what it sounds like, but I wonder if we'll also be switched over to cardmember anniversary at some point.

I'm now considering if we could possibly meet the minimum spend on 2 cards in the next 3 months. If my wife got a card now too we could get $1200 in travel credits for $900 in fees, plus 100,000 UR points. It would be difficult to hit $8K though.

meet it with plastiq. + u earn 3x on rent payments if u have any.

I think ive read somewhere that in 2019, everyone was switching... which could be good news to a few ppl, they might even get to triple dip in theory.

I was reading a travel blog about that last night. Can you book all Delta flights through AF or KE? I got onto each of their websites and nothing came up for flights I was looking for, so I thought maybe only certain Delta flights worked this way. I need to check this out a bit more I think!

i believe so. Find the Delta flight u want, call AF/KE to see if its available for award booking before you u transfer your valuable miles over.

Thanks for this heads-up. My oldest son (26 years old) has been wanting to apply for this. I'm sure he is not the target demographic for this card but what the heck -- he has a decent income (for a 26 year old) and according to credit karma his Transunion credit score is 810 so I just walked him through the application. Got the "we will let you know in 30 days" message. Worst that can happen is they say no, although it is a hard pull. He's not planning on applying for any mortgages or car loans in the near future so I guess it's not a huge cost.
Fingers crossed! I applied the night before my 26th birthday, 760ish score. I think I put $60kish for income. I was guestimating, because it was October and I work a lot of OT :sad2:

Wow! That is a fantastic deal! DW and I used to visit Las Vegas a few times a year before we settled down, and would've jumped on this deal. I guess there are a lot of newer hotels on the Strip and the Bellagio may not be able to command the same premium as it might've a decade ago, but it's still a beautiful hotel and it's central location can't really be beat. I'll definitely check the Amex portal next time we visit Las Vegas.
First time in Vegas. Staying at Bellagio is a dream to me so while the Wynn and Mandalay Bay may be newer, I'll take it.

Our Vegas trip next year is planned with a few other couples. Is it possible to use any of the FRH benefits on multiple rooms? Just wondering if it might be worth it for me to think about putting everyone's rooms on my card and they can pay me cash.
I think you can book up to two rooms with the FHR perk. I would call Amex travel to confirm. Also check flyertalk. There is a dedicated thread for Amex FHR perks and specifically Vegas hotels.

I just purchased the Las Vegas Advisor for our trip next month. It includes so many coupons that it's worth the $40 fee. It has two for one coupons for many buffets including wicked spoon at the Cosmopolitan and Bacchanal at ceasers. It also has gambling and attraction coupons. I plan to sell whatever I don't use one eBay.

So excited! We just booked China with Adventures by Disney for 2018! Now I gotta figure how exactly to travel hack the flights. I'd like to try out Cathay Pacific since I hear they have an amazing first class product. I foresee a weekend in front of the computer scouring the blogs and playing with award flights.

One of my wife's favorite restaurants ever, Le Cirque, is in the Bellagio. We'd stay there for that alone! The Bellagio is such a great location. It's right across the street from the Paris, so if dining is your thing you could make a reservation at the Eiffel Tower Restaurant, request a window table overlooking Bellagio's fountains, and treat yourself to dinner and a show.

Actually you might want to double check on that. Right now I see you can transfer UR points to a SWA RR acct but there is not option to book SWA flights on Chase. Therefore if you transfer the points to your SWA RR acct you will not earn SWA RR points.

There are several airlines you can book by calling that are not availible via online booking. Norwegian Air is one of them as well as Southwest.

One of my kids lives in Taiwan so I have been to China a few times. I found traveling in China very exhausting, so that's one country where I'm sure Adventures by Disney provides a great advantage over doing it on your own. And I still have yet to see the pandas.

Yeah the panda Reserve is not always on typical schedules, it's a bit out of the way. Plus it was closed for awhile after an earthquake.
