Ha, I told my story about Delta cancelling my London flight last April then remembered they also cancelled my flight in 6 weeks to Orlando, and put us on a flight leaving here 4 hours earlier. It all works out, but we ended up having to take another day off work. They do that ALL the time.

DH and went out to breakfast on Saturday. Went to a cute, kitchy diner near where we live - we hadn't been there in like 8 years.

Well, there was a reason we hadn't been there for 8 years. The food sucked. How can you mess up coffee, scrambled eggs, corned beef hash and toast completely? Use rancid grease, canned corned beef hash and burn both the toast and the coffee. Not kidding.

The kicker? CASH ONLY

Hopefully we can remember not to go there ever again.

I tried to pay my car payment also and got a message something like you cannot pay your mortgage. I just said the heck with it, no way am I calling and having eyes on my real mortgage payment!

I had to use my amex biz for an actual biz purchase, the horror. Thank goodness for the Lowe's offer and 6% back with topcash since I had to buy a new over the stove microwave foe the rental. I'll save money doing it this way and they can pick it up. Management co p's me off since this should have been done last week but there were communication issues on their end that told me it had been replaced only to find out it's cheaper to replace than fix. Not the first time I've had issues but trying to find a new co when I'm 3k miles away just isn't worth the hassle.

$5K amex is horrible, i'm working on that also (along with $3K SW ). Luckily (or unluckily) DS is getting braces next week, that'll pretty much finish my amex MSR...

Never again... I went to the same restaurant two nights in a row this weekend (only restaurant in this town where my horse show was). They let me use amex the first night and then the second night told me they didn't take it... Apparently they CAN take Amex, the boss just doesn't want them to and the waitress didn't realize it was amex the first night before she swiped it.

I’ve heard many reputable people mention Delta as the worst for these “adjustments”. (I personally have no experience though).

Since I’m all about showing the LUV for Southwest (pun intended!) I’ll plug them here. Schedule adjustments and cancellations are VERY rare with Southwest. This is by design and also why while other carriers will release flights almost a year out, SW typically only has 90-180 days of fights released at any given time. They attempt to finalize a workable schedule and then hold to it!

Yeah - I don’t know what I’d do if SW didn’t service Pittsburgh well. I may not even be in the churning game at all to be honest given that SW is the entire reason I started playing the game.

Yes, to all of your points. What is different this time, is I've received the credit and the offer is back in my saved offers as if it was not used.

I wish I had not read this because I think I messed up. I noticed the Sam's offer in my saved offers on two cards. I convinced myself that I either must have not used them or got the offer again and just didn't remember. So, I placed another order. I checked my account history today and I did use them in June and got credited. Whoops.

Speaking of Plastiq, after paying my Honda car payment for months using plastiq, it would not work this morning. I had to remove "Finance" from "American Honda Finance Corporation" and then it was accepted.

Yea, the change happened roughly a month or so ago, roughly around the same time the personal Visa cash advance non-sense was introduced. The last two payments I made (I don't schedule them), I had to change "Finance" to "Fin." and it goes through fine. Seems like there's some kind of algo. that associates "Finance" with mortgage lol.

I’m considering ditching my late year SW CP plan and going for it ASAP in light of the fact that we are moving in May. I won’t be flying nearly as much since FL will be driveable and I won’t need to fly to SC. So maybe 2 flights a year once we move. Currently we fly prob 5-6 times a year.
I could get it pretty quickly, I think. Then i could use it several times this fall instead of having it cover 2020. Hmmnn, decisions.

Sounds like a violation of Amex’s anti-steering terms. You should report the restaurant to Amex.

Add me to the Delta rescheduling list! We booked a Delta award flight through Air France from SFO to LHR with a layover in SLC. i received notification through Delta of a flight change resulting in a slightly longer layover in SLC. Bummer but there wasn't anything better. I also received a scary sounding email from Air France about a change in my itinerary telling me to call. It came a day or two later, and I was just going to ignore since the Delta change was fine with me, but I ended up calling. Good thing! Air France said I was required to call in and affirm the change or they would have canceled. The frustrating part is that i wasn't able to do it online. I had to call. I told them that was not a great policy for a minimal change, but FYI in the future if this ever happens to any of you.

Good to know. Our Odyssey is financed through them and I might try plastiqing the payment at some point.
