where on swa site do you find these?

https://www.southwesthotels.com/

I just did a quick search for a long weekend in Orlando for the 12th to 15th of Oct. There's a Friday the 13th in that and I would do the Haunts at Universal on that day.

Without going to far down the list, it give me Sheraton Vistana Villas for three nights at $499 and 9,000 rapid rewards points.

There's a Westgate Palace Resort deal 3 nights for $737 and 18,000 rapid reward points.

There's no Universal deals but they pop up depending on dates.

To game that Westgate deal out.

12,000 points per person round trip nonstop to Orlando on Southwest from Memphis

The wife and I will both have a companion pass by then, so the kids are free. That's 24,000 points for 4

The room deal gives me 18,000 of those back (3/4ths). I pay via my CSR for 3x for 2,221 points I could transfer back to Southwest or keep in UR.

My cost for the flight is basically less than the cost of a single one way ticket in points for 4 people.

My Aviator Barclay card was swiped again. This is the 2nd time in the last 6-8 months that my card has been used for fraudulent charges. Three times online, twice at restaurants.com and once at skincarerx.com (never even heard of it) and they tried to use it at a Best Buy somewhere. Have my card, so who knows what site they got the number from.

Super annoyed at Barclay though because I leave for vacation on Thursday night and won't have the card to take with me. Granted I was planning to use my Hyatt card for most everything because I'm still meeting spend, but I used the Barclay for the tickets and prepaid a rental car with it. I would like to have the card with me. But the number is still being generated to make my account safer and they can't get me the card. Does this make sense? Should I try calling again?

He started off saying they should be able to fedex it but then a supervisor said it won't be ready in time. I don't get that.

tell DH to call and ask!
Well, *I* applied for DH. He will not want to call, but which number to use anyway? There is no number on the application 'refusal,' didn't get an email, just a "we'll let you know by US mail"

I am so sorry! I would call again; couldn't hurt. Explain the situation and just be a pain.

I had a Barclaycard Arrival Plus a couple of years ago and their customer service was a large part of why I cancelled it once I had used the bonus. They would send out the spend alerts but it would be like a week later (as compared to Chase and Amex which is immediate). DH was a victim of identity fraud with his Reserve (in addition to complete card number they had his DOB and SS number and were able to change our address with Chase). BUT I have been completely happy with how Chase has reacted to the situation. So at least there is that.

I already was a bit of a pain. I stopped short of asking for a supervisor. If someone wasn't going to be home while I was gone to get the mail I would have pushed them to send it to my friends place. I do think it's just their customer service, because I've read of others getting cards overnighted to them on vacation but they weren't barclay.

It's just frustrating because it's the 2nd time and I've been the one to catch them, nothing from them.

ETA- If them closing and then it taking time to get another card issued affects my free bag and preboard status next week I'll be annoyed even more. Only one flight on AA but I don't want to pay fees.

my friend had a different situation. she was overseas when the card was swiped. she had an alert that someone swiped her card in the states. they basically told her to continue using the card until she got back. any swipes iN the U.S. the card issuers would reject. maybe u should ask Barclay if this idea works.

That's good to know for the future and lucky for her they did that. It's already closed and I'm not traveling abroad so it wouldn't work. I never thought about what would happen in a case like your friends. That would be scary.

I can't locate the post but it was suggested that you book SW via Chase instead of directly through SW. Does Chase use your points from your SW RR account or do they use the UR points? Getting ready to book tickets to Vegas for Memeorial Day weekend.

That is the message I got for the Marriott card and it showed up in my online Chase account about 2 days later. Still waiting on the actual card to come in the mail. I applied May 3rd, it showed up online May 5th. So it has been 10 days and still no card.

My Marriott card arrived in the mail 10 days after I applied, so maybe you'll get it today.
I have been checking DH's Chase account, nothing yet. Applied last Tuesday. Fingers crossed. Interestingly, when our mortgage was sold to Chase, it showed up on my Chase CC account 3 weeks before we were notified that it was even being sold.

You use UR points thru UR portal (though you have to call for SW)

This is good for those with the Reserve. You call Chase and book the flight using your UR points instead of transferring them over to your Rapid Rewards account at Southwest. It is a fractional savings. The Reserve UR points are valued at 1.5 cents while Southwest Points are like 1.4. It is is a cheap flight and for one person it's no big deal but if you are flying to Family to a place where the fare is bit more expensive, you can save some points.

Thanks! I'll have to try that next time. We only need to purchase 2 tickets since DS flies free with the companion. And DH had enough SW points for our flight home and I had some SW points and transferred what I needed for the flight to Vegas.
