Feeling a bit bored with churning also (not quite @SouthFayetteFan level of bored) but after juggling 3 cards earlier this year, I only have one right now, and the MSR is *only* 3k. Pretty easy peasy, yk? Nothing to stress over, or get excited figuring out how I can meet it. SO, I've gotten obsessed with bank bonuses lol thanks to @gottalovepluto and @speedyfishy and all the others who post about themKind of fun! I've opened Memory bank and Fidelity in the last couple of weeks. I now want to open Citywide (think might be CO only). Do I need to be careful how many of these I open so close together? I see references to the "chex" system. Am I going to get on their bad side for opening so many so close together?
Yeah, I'll just echo @gottalovepluto here. I did one or two bank bonuses in the beginning just to get my feet wet, then once I saw how easy it was and I was comfortable with the process, I was off to the races. I treat them like credit cards - keep trying to open new ones and let the bank tell you no. I've opened 11 accounts this year already, including 3 in May and 4 and June, and I've only been denied once (PNC).
I will suggest, if Schwab cashout via Amex MR is something you might see in your future, consider opening a Schwab account before you open too many bank accounts. Schwab does a hard pull, and there are reports of Schwab closing your account a few days after opening if you have too many Chex inquiries. They do have a $100 bonus if you open a brokerage and checking and leave them open for 30 days, so it's not all so bad.
SunTrust is a great bank to go for if you have access/are in the service area - lucrative bonuses for both personal and business accounts.
