I love credit cards so much!

Feeling a bit bored with churning also (not quite @SouthFayetteFan level of bored) but after juggling 3 cards earlier this year, I only have one right now, and the MSR is *only* 3k. Pretty easy peasy, yk? Nothing to stress over, or get excited figuring out how I can meet it. SO, I've gotten obsessed with bank bonuses lol thanks to @gottalovepluto and @speedyfishy and all the others who post about them :) Kind of fun! I've opened Memory bank and Fidelity in the last couple of weeks. I now want to open Citywide (think might be CO only). Do I need to be careful how many of these I open so close together? I see references to the "chex" system. Am I going to get on their bad side for opening so many so close together?

Yeah, I'll just echo @gottalovepluto here. I did one or two bank bonuses in the beginning just to get my feet wet, then once I saw how easy it was and I was comfortable with the process, I was off to the races. I treat them like credit cards - keep trying to open new ones and let the bank tell you no. I've opened 11 accounts this year already, including 3 in May and 4 and June, and I've only been denied once (PNC).

I will suggest, if Schwab cashout via Amex MR is something you might see in your future, consider opening a Schwab account before you open too many bank accounts. Schwab does a hard pull, and there are reports of Schwab closing your account a few days after opening if you have too many Chex inquiries. They do have a $100 bonus if you open a brokerage and checking and leave them open for 30 days, so it's not all so bad.

SunTrust is a great bank to go for if you have access/are in the service area - lucrative bonuses for both personal and business accounts.

As much as I love Southwest, after 20 minutes on the phone to get DH's first name corrected I now to call them back because his middle initial is incorrect. The CR put "J" instead of "H." At this point, I just might wait until we get to the airport except we have a 6:15 am flight so it will be early. And some reason, they can't just correct misspelling, they actually to cancel the reservation and rebook everything.

Anyone else get an offer from Chase to add the CFU to Google pay and use it 3 times then will receive 1500 points? Because I did and just wondering if there's any minimal spend on each purchase. I haven't delved into the details enough as I don't even have the Google pay app yet.

Is it possible that lmtClub has ran out of Disneyland tickets? It came up last night when I searched under activities but it is not coming up this morning. I really think I should have taken a vacation day today between forgetting things at home, not completely packing DS's lunch for camp, Southwest name debacle and now this...This day has got to get better!

My churning life feels so boring right now, lol. We have gotten 3 cards all year...Delta Gold Biz, Blue Biz+, CIP. (This is after getting 13 cards in 2017 and 29 in 2016, LOL!)

We are scheduled for a CSR/CSP double dip in mid-August (I want to put 4 months between my CIP and the double dip). We've also managed to max out 4x CF cards in Q1 and Q2 (yup $6,000 each quarter!). Q1 was all MS via ApplePay. Q2 was 50% MS via PayPal and 50% organic spend. Of course this is all by design and in line with a strategy years in the making, but now that I'm in the midst of it, it just feels super boring, lol.

I went through a similar stage with FIRE (early retirement)...There was a flurry of excitement initially as we got some things in order and now we are in the accumulation phase, basically nothing I can do but work, save and let time pass.

...Ok - at any rate, just venting, haha. Back to your regularly scheduled DISchurners discussion...

I'm right here with you on churning AND FIRE.

I feel like my FIRE dollars are going nowhere right now. The market has been sucking. I'm so burned out on work, which just compounds the FIRE frustration more. As for churning, there hasn't been anything to excite me much lately either. It's like, where are all the giant bonuses? I guess those are long gone. :( Don't these banks know I deserve 100,000 nearly free points?! :sunny:

Just checked my Fidelity account and I got the bonus! DH hasn't yet, but I funded his account a day later than mine. So excited for my first bank account bonus!

I feel everyone who says that work is sucking the life out of them... This is the busiest I've ever been in the two years I've worked at this job, and of course it coincides with me taking 12 days off over the next 6 weeks! I've been working at home and on weekends nonstop, which at least means I will not be using my PTO on the days I will be taking off.

Everyone needs to quit committing crimes at the same time :crazy2:

I would go for it. DH has the SPG, Marriott & Marriott Biz... we will probably only keep one when the annual fee post, after the free night certificates. With those 3 card ($0 fees the first year) we’ll get enough points for a flight and hotel certificate. Have you thought about the Marriott Biz?
Thanks for this! I have thought about the Marriott Biz, but I already have the CIC and want the CIP in the future so I'm afraid to hit the Chase Biz cards too hard.

I asked on Reddit awhile ago and people basically said it doesn’t matter. People are opening like 30 accounts a year and only getting 1 or 2 denials. I haven’t hit it hard yet but I want to.

I opened the Fidelity the day it was posted here. I got an email about finishing my account opening so I clicked on it and went back through all the info again. Well, now I have two of each account type at Fidelity. I did not fund the second account(s). Do I need to call them or just leave them there

This same thing happened to me.

Got my bonus today too.

Several of us have those exact 3 Chase biz cards. You just need to space your cards out, keep your overall credit lines low, and stay under 5/24.

My fidelity account is showing the bonus too. They paid it out on 7/2 in 4, $50 deposits to the account to get the full $200. That's an interesting way to pay out.

And DP for if it ever comes around again, I already had a Fidelity account for my 401k. (Just to confirm retirement accounts aren't the same as that investing account restriction, as we all believed. )

Just FYI got an email for BA Avios shopping portal, doing a double Avios promo until July 8. Over 500 stores are supposed to be included.
