I just got gift cards last month and on 5 seperate orders I was not charged shipping.

**i wonder if they changed it. I will check when i reorder
What $ card did you buy? I think I bought the $500 but someone told me the $50 or 150didnt have ship charges.

ETA I see now you bought $150

I was wondering if I could get a GC and sell it...

That is very good thinking. I have not been on Carvnival but Im on the west coast and it is pretty popular here for
short getaways. Im still wondering if the cards are excluded. Hope someone has data points on this.

I just did a dummy booking getting the 500 one and it still did not add a shipping fee.

Yes, we have Sams. My friend bought the last ones for me in store but maybe the shipping was a fluke or something. I’ll try tomorrow with the Amex offers. Thanks!

I think I screwed up. :guilty: I got a letter from Chase today saying my CIP was denied b/c of too many cards opened in the past 24 months. I thought I was only at 3/24 so I was really confused. I knew I had some more that I was just an AU on, but I asked my DH to remove me from them and I thought they went away but now I see they are listed as "Closed" but still on my credit report. I SWEAR I looked at this before.. this divorce must be making me more crazy than I thought. I can't believe I goofed on that after all the research and thinking I did.

So anyway, trying to figure out what to do now. I will be at 5/24 in January, and then not 4/24 until April. Unfortunately the furniture I was planning to buy to meet any MSR's needs to be purchased way before then. :sad1: Plus I was trying to earn free flights for our trip to WDW in February. What do you guys recommend? I remember someone saying that their DH wrote to all three credit bureaus asking them to remove the AU cards... I could try and do that if someone could tell me exactly how to go about that? Or should I give up on Chase and try something else... American Express? I have been so focused on Chase I don't really know anything about the other cards out there. I currently have a Barclay Arrival card, a Disney VISA and an AA Citibank Mastercard. Like I said my main problem is that any major spending I am going to do is going to happen in the next few months. My credit is still looking in the "exceptional" range so that's good news.

Any advice? I am so bummed and can't believe I didn't see that before when I remember going in to check. :charac2:
I did this for DH and me. I went online to each of the 3 credit card bureaus and used the dispute card feature. I basically said that it was not my card and I was not responsible for it. All 3 bureaus removed the AUs from my report in about 3 weeks. Some of them were more efficient than others and were gone in a couple of days. It was definitely worth my time since I got approved for the CIP after that.

The CSR arrived today! WooHoo! Thanks to everyone who's helping me with this stuff. I feel a bit like I'm drowning in info right now and can't get a handle on it, but I'm guessing it gets easier.

The Amazon promo didn't show up in DH's AMEX-P (is that the right way to say it?) card, but maybe it's because I grabbed it before I knew that there might be a way for us to both get it. Live and learn, I guess.

Lots of good advice.

I’ll just add that Amex Offers are targeted to individual cards (both primary and AU can get them, and an AU might get an offer that the primary doesn’t get, or vice versa, and sometimes both primary and AU will get the same offer). Amex Offers can be widely available or very narrowly targeted. For really popular Amex Offers like Samsclub, Staples, Best Buy, Lowe’s, Home Depot — basically places where you can redeem the Amex Offer by buying gift cards — it’s best to add them to your card ASAP, because some offers do “fill up.” You just have to check the offers tab on each card.

Each Amex card (primary or AU) can sign up for its own Amex online account, but you can add more Amex cards to existing accounts if that makes it easier to manage your cards. However, Amex Offers are usually limited to 1 per online account. So like @platamama said, say you have more than 1 card on your Amex account, and you got the Sam’s Club offer on, say, 3 Amex cards, once you click to add the offer to 1 card, that offer will disappear on the 2 other cards it was on. Adding an Amex Offer to a card on your login will not make the Offer disappear on DH’s card if DH’s card is on another login.

You can get around this limitation by opening up new tabs or windows for each of your cards, go down to their Offers, and click to add the same offer in the different tabs or windows. @calypso726 wrote up a good guide (with pictures) showing you how to do this: https://www.disboards.com/threads/i-love-credit-cards-so-much.3528202/page-897#post-58922317

P.S. you always refer to your card as the AMEX. I’m guessing that’s your Platinum, but it would really help us keep our advice straight if you tell us what Amex you’re referring to, especially as you get more Amexes.

Thanks for all the info. I'm doing my best to keep up, and I'll do my best to be more specific with the cards. Yes the one we all have in our family is a Platinum one.

My BFF had a baby last month. I'm going to visit her at the end of this month... booked a hotel with Hilton cash and points for 2 nights.

Then I had a panic and realized I need WAY more Hilton points for my Barcelona/Europe trip next summer. I need to grab the Hilton biz card I guess. The Fidelity 2% will have to wait. Honestly I'd rather get the new Hyatt card, especially before it goes under 5/24, but there's no Hyatt in Barcelona. There's a Centric in Madrid... decisions.

By the way this is a heads up reminder to check the old Amex interface also for offers. My brother
just texted me the Amazon offer showed up on the old interface for him. I checked for mine and
still nada but i did see a few different things (none im interested in)o_O

https://online.americanexpress.com/myca/logon/us/action?request_type=LogonHandler&Face=en_US&DestPage=https://online.americanexpress.com/myca/acctmgmt/us/myaccountsummary.do?request_type=authreg_acctAccountSummary&Face=en_US&pageView=janus&omnlogin=us_homepage_myca

The Amazon or additional Sam's also didn't come up for me but I've definitely seen new offers using the old interface (nothing I wanted either lol).

Thanks @wendow for mentioning the Maxpass. I had no idea about it since we were there Easter 2016. It looks like my best option for DLR might be to use our AmEx offers after Staples and Lowe’s and purchase them on the Disney site since I see I can get one Magic Morning included with the tickets which would be great since last time we stayed at DLH and used that hour to accomplish so much- no wait for Carsland, TSM, etc...Did you have any favorite restaurants? Last time we did the character buffets at DLH and GC but I am not sure DS11 will want to do them. I thinking of maybe trying Plaza Inn since I can reserve for there still.

Just an fyi, the tickets purchased from LMTclub also include a MM if 3 days or more. Our MM was a 7am opening and yeah, the place was DEAD and it was awesome! I haven't seen WDW that dead during EMH in about 5-6 years. But the locals don't really do the MM's so that eliminates most of the crowds. If you aren't staying onsite, the MM is only for DL.

Maxpass is great. I would not do DLR any other way. We were only going to use it for one day and then decided on two but about two weeks before we were supposed to leave, Disney lifted the AP blackout days and AP's could go on our dates which changed the crowds. We decided just to suck it up and buy the MP for all days.

We did the breakfast at Plaza Inn. It was a reservation I worked hard to get and the characters were great (we had 10) but we had to ask the characters to come around to us. They sat us and another family outside and then none of the characters ever came out. We had eaten and were done and only one had come by but we could see them making the rounds inside. My dh went and talked to someone and boom, the characters started coming. It ended well but I was disappointed in that. In fact, there were a couple characters we never got to meet. I wanted to do Blue Bayou but could never find a reservation. We did all CS except for Plaza Inn. We liked the Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta, Flo's, the CS by Trader Sam's DLH (can't remember the name). Never got to try the Bengal BBQ which smelled amazing. The lemon dole whip at Adorable Snowman was really good (drizzled in white chocolate!).

DL frequenters...
Looking at Dec and wondering if it is better to go when APs are blocked out closer to Christmas or closer to mid-month when APs are allowed? I think DD19 will finish exams around the 15th, so that is about the earliest we could go.

Remembered something else I did today. Signed up for Global Entry and used my UnitedExplorer to pay that fee. That is a reimbursement now - new perk. When the charge is credited I'll post here so we have a DP of time. I don't remember seeing any discussion of this new benefit on here. The card also offers 2x points on restaurants now. I don't put any spend on this card, but it's something. At least I've offset my AF this year. (I keep the card for primary car rental coverage).

I had the Sam's one for the $15 credit on 2 cards last month and used them to buy Disney gift cards and split the payment. Both cards got the $15 statement credit. Just checked and had Sam's offer for $10 statement credit on $30 purchase on 3 of my cards, the Aspire, Everyday, and Platinum. Just bought more Disney gift cards. Unfortunately, the system doesn't let you split the payment across 3 cards, only two. But $150 in Disney GCs for $122.98 is still a good deal.

My Southwest AF just came up on my account. I waited to close it, hoping to get the anniversary points. How long do the anniversary points usually take to show up on my Rapid Rewards account? should I wait to close or just close it now and hope the points show up. Thoughts? Also this was my second year, I paid the annual fee the first year. When can I apply for a new southwest card? I received a bonus for SW Plus in June 2016 and SW Premiere in August 2016. Can I sign up for the SW Business or shoud l wait till after August? Thank you so much for any tips?
I'm in the same boat. Is it weird that I feel bad calling to cancel???

Thanks for the GE reminder... I need to apply.

I have no idea what was going on with the SW system last night. I forgot to add EBCI to my reservation and I went back in to add it and noticed the system dropped the “a” at the end of my name. It was late, called SW and got that corrected. I didn’t think it to check DH’s but this morning noticed they dropped the “i” at the end of his first name. I still need to call have that corrected or do I just wait until we get to the airport which was SW’s initial recommendation when simply just adding the “a” wouldn’t work and she can to cancel my reservation, refund EBCI and rebook it everything. Decisions, decisions! I’ll deal with it in the am.

Honestly I would fix it before you get there. You never know for sure now days if you'll get someone willing to overlook it or fix it or if you'll get someone picky. I still remember hearing a story about a guy whose ticket was booked as Bob but his ID said Robert. He got a hard time at the airport because apparently the person he got didn't understand that Bob was short for Robert. Granted it's only an i but if you can fix it now it's better peace of mind and less potential hassle/stress later.

On the subject of United MileagePlus cards, I finally PCed my legacy Select card to the no fee card. That’s a $95 AF I’m getting back. My wife should be happy. I’ll never cancel it, as it’s my oldest card. (And I’m convinced it’s why I never get targeted for the higher MPE signup bonuses). But I also never put any spend on the Select, except for a small charge every year to keep it alive. I was basically paying $95 for 5k UA miles every anniversary. I’ll still get the expanded award availability, +25% bonus miles on MPX, and cardmember rates on MileagePlus Shopping with the no fee card, so “that’s a plus.” Haha.
