So do you like it better than WDW? I am wanting to take DD2 back to WDW at the end of the year before she turns 3 (12/19) and am contemplating DL instead. I think DH (anti-disney guy

) might be more onboard with that since his brother lives in LA. Worst case I will just take the kids to WDW without him. I haven't booked anything yet b/c I was hoping she will shoot up to 38"+ to be able to ride more so was waiting to see if that happens by fall or need to wait til December.
I didn't like it better but I liked it A LOT! I would love to go back and I thought this would be a one-time trip for us. I could even see us rotating every other year between the two but not sure my dh is on board with that. He liked DLR but maybe not quite as much as me. Part of the deal though for him is the 'escape' from reality that WDW provides. You get it a little with DLR but the city with traffic, loud cars, emergency vehicles, trash and beggars is right outside the gates. It's weird when you are a WDW person. I think maybe I tuned that out better than him.
There are things about DLR that are superior to WDW:
ease of hopping, availability of hotels that have walkability to the parks, Cars Land!!!!, better Space, POTC, BTMRR, IASW, much better weather, roaming characters, more characters, my dd's would say the Marvel characters
And then there are things that I liked better at WDW:
The main thing I noticed quickly is the CM's. They are just different than the CM's at WDW. I find the ones in FL to be a lot friendlier. We spend a lot of time there just chatting with CM's...seeing which ones are DCP and asking them about that...a lot of older ones who are retired and working there. I like to ask them what they did in their prior life. They are from all over the US (and world). The CM's at DLR are mainly from So Cal and just treat guest different. One example is the buttons for 'First Visit' or 'Happy Birthday'. When we have worn those at WDW, almost every CM says something. My kids have had characters in the parade run over and say something or point at it or a princess on a float mouth 'Happy Birthday'. Our buttons were pretty much ignored. I think it was day 2 when someone finally said something. The CM's also walk in the gates with you in their costumes. Some are on cell phones or carrying their lunch walking in off the bus. It just ruins that magic a bit. In the end though, it's not a huge deal, and would not keep me from returning.
As I mentioned above, the magic is a bit loss with the location. Being right in the middle of the city is just *different*.
A few attractions are better at WDW...Splash, PP, I prefer the ToT theming but GotG is super fun too. Overall, I liked most of the attractions at DLR better than WDW (or they were the same). Loved Pixar Pier. Thought we might die on the Fun Wheel but other that, it was blast!
And they will stretch SUPER far with no kids to pay for! It is crazy how much it costs to add on 4 little munchkins (guess DD19 isn't a munchkin) to your trips. It is ok though, they are worth it.
So worth it! I wouldn't change it for anything

In fact, I'd have more if I could!
