Man I really want this new Chase Hyatt card. Why oh why did they have to introduce it not even a year after i
applied for the old one?>:(

Those shutdown reports have me worried about even asking to upgrade my current one even though I have only had
2 Chase cards in 2 years. However those other new cards........o_O

I wonder if it will be grandfathered??

dang, that one's rough too. It really looks like doing the double is the risk factor they're looking at. otherwise based on those stats even being a first Chase card I wouldn't think that was unreasonable CL's. combined it was slightly less than 50% of income from the auto approver. but it's still positive they're not closing either card and it was a more reasonable reduction than we've seen on some.

I'm back. Again. Ugh it's been hard to get my DH on board. He's home today so I'm trying to get him to do the double CSR & CSP. I went to reddit and found dis referral links. Any last minute advice? I know it's suppose to be done on a work day but now I don't remember why. Sorry to sound like a broken record. I'm hoping he can get his credit unlocked to try this today. :flower3:

in case if the app goes into pending mode, you need to get DH to call in and push the app through before you apply for card #2.

there are specific instructions on this. i know i have something on the wiki page on reddit. i’m sure someone will post something too. currently on mobile.

Thanks. I saved the docs people shared the last time I asked, but things are changing so quickly (and that extra CSP bonus is gone now :headache:) but he's finally willing to deal with this today. So, both cards in one day, call to get the first one approved.

And now we should expect a lower credit limit on both?

Apparently we have to wait an hour (unlocking credit). Ack if we push against the time they close it's not going to work today. So hard to do this when he's not home most days.

Looks like you can upgrade your current card but they only give you 2,000 points in exchange for the higher annual fee. I'd rather wait and churn mine in a year.

Good luck! I was autoapproved for both of mine so here is hoping he is too! No fun to call. Ever!!

Chase recon office’s weekday hours are 8 am - 10 pm ET. Verification dept may have different hours. You’ll want to apply during office hours in case you need to call in to push a pending application through, whether it’s the first application or second application, because the idea is to get both cards approved on the same day.

Have you given any more consideration to applying for cards yourself? I know you mentioned only your husband is working, but there are many full time parents here and it’s perfectly fine applying as a “homemaker” and using total household income. I know many spouses have more credit cards, higher credit limits, and higher credit scores than their working partners.

Good luck! If you need a refresher on how to do the double dip or any more questions, let us know!

I didn't see your question answered about the CP, each holder of the CP will need to make a reservation in their respective RR account and then once your reservation is made you can "add your companion". I've never not had the CP prior to booking a flight so I'm thinking once you earned the CP, if there are any get away fares left then you could add the companion without canceling and rebooking the 2 CP holder tickets, but would need to cancel the two companion tickets. Depending on if the flight sells out you may not be able to cancel the original bookings and rebook using the CP. Also remember with the CP you can only change your companion 3 times, so likely would be best for you and your friend to both use the CP for your respective husbands.

**any fare available, not only WGA

DP for anyone hoping to open the Fidelity for an older teen: Could not open one for my dd18...The message was they cannot verify her identity...guessing no real credit history to pull verification questions from.
Is she AU on any of your cards?

I think if this works out I may have him refer me next time we want to apply. And that's a big if since he's stuck waiting for the credit to unfreeze right now. It was frozen on several sites.

Any tips would be helpful since we are real N00Bs at this and it's been at least 6-7 years since we even tried to get a new CC.

ETA - thanks for letting me know when they close. That should help.

Definitely have him refer you! No rush on that, just when you meet the MSRs for his cards.

I don't know much about the credit freezes, but hopefully this will be 2 smooth auto approvals!

We locked it down when it was breached. And apparently locked it down well since it's now a big pain to get all 3 plans to unfreeze it. I don't know much about it either.
