I love credit cards so much!

Since I am online and finding ways to delay going outside to do grass and clean up after our mean yorkie - he pooped right on my patio on the fire ring circle which is a light blue (like the ocean!) and stains a bit until it is properly hosed down, I will update you on meeting my spend for my biz card.

I worry about getting a card and being able to meet spend, because I don't have a lot of expenses.

But - daughter's car insurance showed up in informed delivery this morning and I had been saving one of mine which is due June 26 to start my spend with. I added up just insurance due between now and September and I have $1900!!!! Just wow! (Well $700 is daughter's.) Add to that my bird's vet visit in early August and we are at $2200. Bird gets a birth control implant a couple times a year.

I guess I don't really note this spending ability since I have a separate account set up for expected yearly expenses and it gets a lump sum each month. That just leaves the gas, electric, food and misc monthly expenses to pay as they come and these are all pretty small.

So, bottom line, biz card is taken care off! It may even be finished before the august vet bill as I am also going on vacation leaving Saturday.

Makes it tempting to get another (non chase) business card......

I also met the spend on my CIP easier than I thought we would ...not sure yet if that’s a good or bad thing..lol..so referred my husband for one and will start the spend on that when we get back from CA

Yay! After months of waiting to get to 4/24, I applied yesterday for a CIP and it went to 30 day pending. Called status line this AM, and found out I was approved, and then I stayed on the line to request rush shipping and it should be here in 1-2 days! I'm so excited!

P.S. I used a DISchurner's link.

Businesses are just booming this summer  Congratulations!!

Congratulations!

Don’t mind if I join in on your dance party! :cool1:

I funded a PNC savings account with SO’s CSP today. He opened a savings and a checking when he got the CIP in March. I tried to do a third savings account today too but it wouldn’t let me. Maybe I’ll try next month. I also did 3k with BMO for the CSR. He got approved but has to call to set up online access. Between that and having to call to transfer the Disney reservation he may kill me. lol

I’ve been a infrequent poster but lurker on here. So much valuable information! Looking for my next move.
Background:
Me currently 5/24 will be back to 4/24 in Sept

CSR 9/16
SPG 6/17
SW premier 1/18 (double dip for CP)
SW PLUS 1/18
Marriott premier 4/18

Older cards: Capitol one venture visa and cap one MasterCard, CFU (pc’d from CSP) and CF.

DH 4/24 (though one is AU on AMEX)

CSP 6/17 (think will PC to another CF)
SPG 6/17 (AU ONLY)
CFU 4/18 (3x point offer)
Chase Marriott 6/18

Also AU on my CF, CFU, and both Cap Ones (all old)
Thinking CIP is out too many Chase cards and nervous about going the business route. Should I branch out to more AMEX or consider Barclay? Or should I hold tight until I am 4/24, cancel CSR and reapply for double dip.

We currently have a RCL cruise booked for Feb (paid with URs) and will do Disney on the front and Universal on the back end. Saving for Marriott flight and nights for down the road. SW preferred airline because of CP, second is JetBlue. No hotel loyalt per se.

Would you be comfortable with an Amex Biz card? It’s easier than Chase to get approved for them. Very frequently people with a “buisness” get an instant approval. If you are I’d go for that so you don’t risk your 5/24 status and once you are under in September you can decide to do either the CIP or CSR/CSP. I think in September you wouldn’t be a shutdown risk for another Chase card. If you aren’t comfortable with an Amex Biz card I’d wait and get under 5/24 and do the double dip.

I just SM Chase on DH's account and asked if his Freedom could be upgraded to a CSR (was downgraded from this originally). Going to book a cruise with UR's and the AF will offset what we save plus get the $300 travel credit. They said he was eligible to do this but needs to call. He will be so happy to have to call....

So, then I will be transferring all the UR points to his account before booking the cruise. Can I call and book or does he have to since the points will be linked to his account. He has no idea on anything that goes on with any of this...

I know he was waiting for his letter. I must have missed it all while away. Was he shut down for non-biz charges??? If so, yikes!!

No, it was something else.

Hmmm, I may need to do a PNC account (or two). I could use the spend on our CSP, and could do a push of cash from somewhere for the direct deposit. I'm trying to only do one bank bonus at a time (just because I don't have unlimited mental capacity to manage this hobby - spreadsheets are all well and good, but you still have to do the thinking and planning).

I did the TD Bank one, and changed DH's direct deposit to go the new account, but now his check hasn't been deposited in a few weeks - so either its just taking a crazy long time to switch over, or he messed it up somehow when he changed the direct deposit. I was feeling lucky that it was so easy to move his direct deposit around, but now I'm a little soured on that method :crazy2:

At the moment I have like 4 accounts sitting around until I can close them - I don't want that list to get too ridiculously long (looking at you, @SouthFayetteFan ).

My husband is a reluctant player 2, and is fine with anything I do but yea I’d be in the same position if he had to call..he would not be happy

Just saw this on Facebook and thought it seemed relevant to this group... especially when you’re trying to meet an MSR!

 This is exactly me today. This morning AA saver availablity opened on the flights to DL I booked yesterday at the time actually wanted. We’ll now arrive at LAX around noon vs 5:30pm (weekday), my Californians know that switch is almost worth gold but luckily with AA award tickets it’s free.

So now instead of Hyatt House for the day before I’m trying to math my way into adding the day at DLH...

Fwiw changing AA award ticket: super easy, but I had to wait over an hour for a call back. When they called back I explained I found availability at the same ticket level for my award flight and would like to change the hours. She said which cities and what time, typed for a couple minutes found them confirmed it with me and done! Less than 3 min call time. I didn’t need my confirmation number or my flight dates or everyone’s name, birthday, etc. She had everything pulled up!

Does anyone here know of any good deals on Kindle Fires? I know there were some not too long ago but I didn't pay attention (weren't needing one) but my dd15 left hers at the Hyatt House we stayed at in Carlsbad (along with unopened polaroid film, her journal, a pillow, her chargers and all her most precious Disney jewelry :sad1:). She cannot replace many of the items but was hoping to find a Fire for a good deal.

@Budzooka may beg to differ. Lol I am still confused about his shutdown. Though don’t want to scare @Angeliki19 away. If it makes you feel any better I have started and stopped the CIP application twice because of that language in the last 6 months but finally went all the way through and card came a few days ago.

Hm, what does that mean? I still haven't pulled the trigger, lol! I was about to go back and do it... I recently signed up as a Young Living (essential oils) distributer (MLM type business) so I feel comfortable saying I have my own business, but I am just getting started with it, so I was just going to be honest about the revenue and hope that I get approved. But I would be putting lots of non-business related charges to meet the MSR so this post makes me nervous!!

OT, but since a lot of folks here have done the PNC bank bonus I'm hoping someone can help me :) I decided to use the money I deposited to the PNC account to pay bills but I'm not familiar with how they do bill pay. I can't tell if it's going to be electronic or a check, so it's hard to pick a pay date not knowing how long it'll take. After clicking around I did find a view that states "The payment will be processed in time for <payee> to receive it by the pay date." So does that mean if I set it up ahead of time enough they would send the check so that it arrives by the date I picked?

My normal online bill pay tells you if it's check or electronic and when the payment is expected to arrive. So if I pick today as the pay date, it'll say "Payment expected 6/28" if it's electronic and it'll take the money out today to ETF/ACH it. If it's a check it'll give me a date 5-7 days out so the date I pick is the date they cut and mail the check and the money comes out when it's cashed. I know exactly what's going on every step of the process... PNC is not that straight forward so I'm a little confused. And even though hubby has had a PNC account for a good long while now, he's never used the bill pay feature. (it's a thing of beauty that just so many things can be paid with a CC without a fee)

I’m not comfortable changing a direct deposit yet. For PNC I triggered it with a transfer from Chase. Super easy and got 4K in credit card funding done. You can open multiple PNC accounts but I’m unsure how frequently. The savings account I opened today is in the same login as the checking and savings account I opened a few months ago so it is easy to keep track of that.

I’m trying to get organized so I can be like some of those people on Reddit that get 10k a year in bank bonuses. Not there yet lol.

Oh dear! This sounds like my daughter -- I cannot tell you how many things she has left in hotel rooms over the years. (The worst was her passport, in Italy.)

Do you follow the "dan's deals" site? He posts a lot of Amazon deals.
