I love credit cards so much!

Hi guys- I got side tracked and didn't get to complete my CIP application. Was about to do it and had one more thought. As part of meeting the MSR, I am going to use the card in July to book our DVC rental for our February trip. I just wanted to make sure its ok to use the card for something that blatantly isn't "business" related? In fact most of my spending will be on Wayfair, groceries, gas, etc. It says right in the terms that its to be used only for business use and not family or personal.... I know I am probably being a nervous nellie but just wanted to make sure I am not missing something!

So I am waiting for my SW Points to post before cancelling those cards. I opened both Business and Plus on 6/17/17. So, will the points post right away by July 1st?

Well, once again I am almost done with a $5k MSR, in only 6 weeks. How they heck do I do that????? No wonder I am always broke LOL. So, time for DH to get another AMEX biz card while we wait out Chase. I have the Biz Gold Rewards. I am deciding between getting him that and the Hilton Biz with the 125k. I am not seeing an referral link in my Biz Gold onine account, but I appear to have put on one the Churners AMEX thread. Does anyone know if there is a referral bonus on this one and why it's not showing up when I go in my offers on my account?

Then I think I need to stop until late fall LOL. I say that, but I get squirmy when I am not meeting a spend, I need help. When we finally close all these AMEX Biz accounts after a year or so, I sure hope AMEX doesn't freak out and shut down all our personal stuff too.

Haha, that made me LOL! Thanks!

I did request via SM for the card to be expedited but no go :sad2: Oh well.

Don't SM. Call. Tell the rep you need the card for upcoming expenses or you'd like to utilize the card's benefits as soon as possible. Here's the customer service number from the back of the (Marriott Biz) card: 1-800-346-5538.

It’s fine!! I promise you that we all do it. I’ve never heard (read) of chase questioning anyone’s biz card charges. Good luck!

It sounds like you're planning a company offsite! I believe DVC rentals code as travel and will earn you 3x UR on the purchase.

As for the terms, all "business" cards contain this or similar language because business credit cards are not covered by the CARD Act, which extends additional consumer protections to personal credit cards but not business cards. Chase will not question you about your charges, unless a transaction is flagged or suspected as fraudulent. Even then, it'll be just to confirm whether you made the charge or not.

Whoa, they can get DHs vehicle into the shop next week to repair! Not sure how long it'll take (this is all getting relayed via text right now)... but since my appraisal isn't until July 7th, I feel like this helps out a bit for getting two $5k MSRs done as it will stagger them a bit. First on the list, DH calling about AMEX Platinum.

Finally got caught up between dd surgery, end of school, brother visiting, moms 70th surprise party, it’s been a crazy month.

When chase looks at approving do they take into account credit limits on others credit card companies? Just saw two of my cards I haven’t used 4+ years just did a credit increase.

Hey everybody. Sorry I've been so quiet lately. We are about to do 2 vacations in 4 weeks (Myrtle Beach next week and Captiva Island in Florida in mid-July). So I had been trying to get all caught up at work.

THEN yesterday we were hit with the hardest rain I've seen in my life. Our finished basement (which in a decade had seen a little water one time) got completely flooded. Luckily we don't have anything valuable on the ground but needless to say it's sucked up all my energy for a couple of days and we leave tomorrow. I hope everybody is doing well here, and I promise you'll hear more of me soon (just maybe not a ton for the next month or so). :)
Hope you are enjoying Myrtle beach. DDs love margaritaville

Hi all! Some of you were kind enough to give me some advice a month or two ago when I was looking into getting some new cards after my divorce. I closed on my mortgage last week so I am good to go and want to apply for at least one card asap.

My main goal again is just to maximize Chase points for travel. I am at 3/24. The advice you guys gave me was go first for the CIP and then the CSR. I think I can meet the spend of both and then I would be waiting until next April to get another card.

My questions are:

1) I am still slightly worried about the "business" aspect of the CIP. I have sold something on ebay before and plan to do more now that I am getting divorced and cleaning out stuff, but it would be a stretch to say I generated any sort of income this year from that. I don't sell anything on Etsy or anything like that. The only real selling going on around here is Girl Scout Cookies and Boy Scout popcorn, ha! So I feel a little uncomfortable about it.. am I over-thinking it or should I skip this one until I can generate more of a "revenue"?
2) If I do go for CIP and get denied, does that hurt my credit?
3) If I don't go for CIP, and instead do CSR, what should my second card be? Besides sign up bonuses, I am looking for a good everyday card.

Thanks!!! I really appreciate all your help and will definitely head over to Reddit to check things out when I am ready. :)
I think you would be fine to apply for the CIP. Like others have said if you do the CSR I would double dip so you get 100k sign up.

Does anyone know what MCO is like at 5 am on a Weekday? Is it even possible for us to hit the lounge if we board at 5:45? I’m thinking it is too tight since they don’t open till 5. We are flying SW if that makes a difference. I know we will have to hit security twice. We are all Precheck.
We had haven’t gone early but I think it would be too tight and not worth missing your flight. Even with precheck never know how long the line will be. Also if you have to take the monorail that adds to your time.

I’ve been a infrequent poster but lurker on here. So much valuable information! Looking for my next move.
Background:
Me currently 5/24 will be back to 4/24 in Sept

CSR 9/16
SPG 6/17
SW premier 1/18 (double dip for CP)
SW PLUS 1/18
Marriott premier 4/18

Older cards: Capitol one venture visa and cap one MasterCard, CFU (pc’d from CSP) and CF.

DH 4/24 (though one is AU on AMEX)

CSP 6/17 (think will PC to another CF)
SPG 6/17 (AU ONLY)
CFU 4/18 (3x point offer)
Chase Marriott 6/18

Also AU on my CF, CFU, and both Cap Ones (all old)
Thinking CIP is out too many Chase cards and nervous about going the business route. Should I branch out to more AMEX or consider Barclay? Or should I hold tight until I am 4/24, cancel CSR and reapply for double dip.

We currently have a RCL cruise booked for Feb (paid with URs) and will do Disney on the front and Universal on the back end. Saving for Marriott flight and nights for down the road. SW preferred airline because of CP, second is JetBlue. No hotel loyalt per se.

Didn't we have some talk here recently of there being increased United card offers when you fly a United flight? If so, do you have to actually apply in flight, or can you take the application and do it later?

I need to build some United miles for my eventual Tokyo trip since it looks like ANA will be my best flight option. However, I'm already at 4/12 with Chase when I take my next United flight, so I know I shouldn't apply then.

Honestly, sometimes I wish I was just over 5/24 so I could go ahead and start applying for other stuff... received some Citi and Barclays mailers for AA points yesterday that looked tempting...

@Budzooka may beg to differ. Lol I am still confused about his shutdown. Though don’t want to scare @Angeliki19 away. If it makes you feel any better I have started and stopped the CIP application twice because of that language in the last 6 months but finally went all the way through and card came a few days ago.

Yay! After months of waiting to get to 4/24, I applied yesterday for a CIP and it went to 30 day pending. Called status line this AM, and found out I was approved, and then I stayed on the line to request rush shipping and it should be here in 1-2 days! I'm so excited!

P.S. I used a DISchurner's link.

I think after September you should be fine for CIP. Though I am interested to see how many who got the CSR 2 years ago will cancel and reapply. I really want to do that but my DH who didn’t want the card in the first place now is afraid for me to cancel because he really likes the lounge access. Lol. Not that we use it that often, but he does travel for work more frequently. Maybe try a AMEX business now if you want something soon.

I know he was waiting for his letter. I must have missed it all while away. Was he shut down for non-biz charges??? If so, yikes!!

If anyone likes SixFlags and has a Wyndham account, they are doing Wyndham member day on July 12. They have a select rides available after closing for members only and a 35% off coupon, good for 4 tickets, that day only.

Here's the event page that lists the participating Six Flags locations: https://www.sixflags.com/national/wyndham-rewards-day
And the coupon: https://pages.emails.wyndhamhotelgroup.com/SexFlagsCoupon/
(and no, that's not a typo in the URL... at least it's not my typo. I hope it's someone else's typo or that's a completely different type of member reward than I'm expecting)
