I love credit cards so much!

Ok, I just finished a spreadsheet of all our cards. Was surprised to notice I have more cards than DH. I was sure I applied for about 1/2 in his name but apparently not. So that means he needs CSP, Marriott & SW cards. I have them already and I'm at 5/24 for a couple more months. He has CSR, AA personal & Business, but at 2/24 right now.

I know we can transfer points from CSP to CSR and between family mambers. Can I still transfer points to DHs CSR if I downgrade my CSP to Freedom Unlimited? Can family members similarly share SW or Marriott points or just UR points? And any specific order you'd get Marriott, SW & CSP?

They told me the same. Was told it takes 10 days to confirm your Marriott account and send out the card. I was bummed too.
ETA: I checked and received the card exactly 10 days after approval. 3/7 to 3/17

My card actually arrived in the mail today. Pretty happy because I called about it last Monday and got it approved, so it took 7 days.

Not necessarily. The rules for transferring points depends on the card and where the points are being transferred to.

You can transfer UR points from the personal cards to another UR account that belongs to you or one member of your household.

You can transfer business UR points another UR account that belongs to you, one member of your household or joint business owner.

You can transfer your UR points to to the hotel or airline loyalty program of another person IF they are a member of your household AND are an authorized user on your account.

WRT the loyalty programs, each one has their own rules. Some allow sharing, some charge a lot of money for sharing.

So thinking of downgrading my CSP to Freedom. I currently transfer CSP points to DHs CSR. Can I still if I downgrade to Freedom? I know very little about Freedom & haven't looked into it yet except what's been mentioned here

For anyone that does Swagbucks, I just got a notice about their spring shopping deals. There are some good travel cash back rewards.

InterContinental Hotels Group 12% cash back
Priceline up to 10% cash back
Hotels. com up to 20% cash back
Expedia up to 20% cash back
Travelocity up to 16% cash back

Check on each portals categories, because they usually vary, but could be some decent returns if you are planning to book something soon.
I have never used Swagbucks, but I'm intrigued. I will be booking two nights at DLH for about $1,000, so if I book on hotels.com via Swagbucks then I should get $200 back? That would be great! Do you have any experience getting cash back for travel? Their website says they credit you 60-90 days after travel is completed. I usually use Ebates and I always need to file a claim. They are good about paying out though. Is Swagbucks reliable?

Yes, as long as you and DH have the same address. You are allowed one household member. If my brother lived with me and DH I would only be able to transfer to one of them, not both.

Yes the only other person who shares our address is DS, age 8. No CC for him. Yet.

I have gotten cash back once from Swagbucks for a hotel reservation when they were better than eBates. That was the only time that I tried it though, so I don't have an extensive set of DPs.

It all depends on the pricing of the ticket. So if I want to use 100,000 CSR UR points to pay for a RT flight flight through the UR portal I have $1500 worth of points. Let's say United has a RT award flight available to book with miles for 100,000 United miles but that same flight costs $15,000 to purchase. I don't have enough UR points to purchase a $15k flight through the UR portal with my points. So I can't buy the flight. But, I can transfer my 100,000 UR points 1:1 to United. Now I can book the flight with miles and I technically just got $15,000 worth of value for my points. That is of course assuming I would ever pay that much money for a flight. I wouldn't pay $15k, but I might have been willing to pay more than $1500 for that flight OOP so now I got more value for my points by using them as miles.

The downside is that you don't earn FF miles on award flights. I've been on a good number of first class international and domestic flights over the last 5 years of playing this game and have always transferred my UR points to United or BA. The first time I've used my points as money to pay for a flight was just a few months ago when we booked the Delta flights to Iceland.

They have extended it every year so far. Some people have had a $1500 return by using the DVA. :rolleyes1
I'm a little nervous about transferring points. What if by the time you transfer the points the tickets you were going to book are no longer available? I think that fear will paralyze me when it comes down to pushing the button to transfer.

There is no point in going through the SW or United portals to buy Disney GCs, correct? I need 40 x $100 to meet my SW spend.

It is instantaneous in most cases.

DH should be getting his CSR any day now. Will he be charged right away with the AF? If we decide to charge his Disney annual pass to the CSR will it show up as a statement credit?

i think there is a certain place u need to buy the annual pass with... like a DVC account or something like that. I never buy tickets, haha. ill shut up on this subject now... ;)

If you have a Disney Vacation Account, you can fund that with the CSR to get the statement credit then buy the AP.

UR point transfers are virtually instantaneous. MR or SPG transfer can take days to a week or so.

The AF hit my dh's account on the second billing cycle and he just got his card in March. Mine hit first cycle but I got my card back in Sept.

I am not sure what the consensus is on if tickets purchased through Disney code as travel. I know the suggestion was to open a DVA, fund it with money from CSR (DVA codes as travel) and then buy tickets with money from DVA.
