I love credit cards so much!

Hi Carrie!
We’re you wanting to find the way to get to Disney with the least cost?
There are much better options than the Disney visa for that.
Can you share your current cards and when they were opened with us so we can point you in the right direction?
Hopefully we can get you a nice stock of chase ultimate rewards and potentially make your trip free!

Hello and Thank you!

Right now we have no fee Disney Visas. I also have the USAA Chase Visa and the Costco Chase Visa.

I am earning rewards on my Disney Visa, buying GC at Sams every so often, and I just started Swagbucks (boy that seems to take forever!).

Otherwise, I really have not come up with any other saving ideas.

Carrie

I was approved for the CIC!! I had a busy Friday at work last week and then my mom was in town for the weekend, so I didn't end up applying until Sunday evening. Got the 30 day message (as expected). Checked status line a couple times yesterday and no change, then checked again this morning and it said I was approved!

I'm excited because I was really unsure if I'd get this one. For DP purposes, this is my third Chase business card. I have: CIP opened 9/2017 ($12K CL), Marriott Biz opened 2/2018 ($5K CL), and now CIC with another $12K CL. I was also over 60% of income in CL with Chase before the CIC. :scared1:

Awesome! Another three Chase biz cards club member!!! And CONGRATULATIONS!

:cool1::banana:party::cheer2::cool1:pixiedust:

There’s hope beyond your second, Chase biz card, everyone!

I so wish I could do this, but I'm scared to try. And finding the time now is a challenge, I might dip my toes in this summer.

It’s time consuming at first, but once you get the hang of it it doesn’t take much time. I try and do the stuff when I’m going out shopping anyway. So today for example I had to get stuff at CVS.

First I went to CVS and bought a pack of gum with my MR card that gives you 5k after a single purchase. It was .99 cents and I got .99 cents in extrabucks. I then couponed for other household items we need. We leave next week to the Bahamas so I like to pick up new toothbrushes and shampoos to pack.

After CVS I went to Walmart and bought 2 1,000 money orders with my discover debit card so I get $20 cashback. I wanted to do 3 1,000 money orders, but the rep said she would need my social security number.

Next up was the giant/pnc bank combo. I deposited the MOs and then went and bought $1,000 in giftcards with the new card I’m hiting MSR on.

It took me under an hour. I got $20 in cashback, got 5k MR and I’m a third of the way to MSR for the Delta Biz.

Can you specify the dates you opened the USAA, Costco, and Disney cards? When you say Disney(s), specify if there are 2 separate accounts or someone is an authorized user on another's account.

Chase has a 5/24 rule...meaning you can't get more cards from Chase if you have opened 5 cards from any issuer in the last 24 months. Thats why we need the specifics.

Do you have any sort of side business? Sell your kids old clothes on facebook or eBay? Babysit, petsit, etc? Real business?

ETA: For the Costco card, if it was transferred to chase from amex like mine, it retains that original opening date, not the date it was transferred to chase.

I don't know... I personally try to stay consistent. I'd be worried about getting hit with a financial review or something.

But I get what you're saying. If you're applying for the CSR that's going to give you a crazy high CL if you get approved, put a lower (maybe individual) income figure to try to cap that CL. Then when applying for the CSP, give a higher (or combined household) income figure to appear more creditworthy to open the CSP? Doesn't Chase's online app also ask if you want them to consider any additional sources of income anyway?

They can indeed ask about other sources of income, so it's quite plausible to do one lower and then suddenly "remember" about more income for the second one.

But I was in your camp, afraid of an inconsistency so close together would trigger some type of review :) I even checked my screenshots of my Sapphire apps to make sure I figured the income the same on the CIC app.

There's some gov law/regulation about cash equivalent purchases above 2000 need to be tracked for money laundering purposes. I don't remember exactly but that's when several stores stopped the GC>GC purchases because there was no easy way to track that, and they put limits on purchase amounts of gift cards and the like so they wouldn't be responsible for having to track it. I think CVS was one of the first, or at least one of the first I read about, citing that reason for the policy change. Since 2 was ok but above that was not I'm assuming that's why WM wanted SSN to do more.

Yeah. I don’t really trust Walmart with my ssn. I asked who gets my social like is it stored electronically and encrypted and she said she gets it and puts it in a book??? I was no thanks. lol

Is this the basic Discover Debit that comes with their checking account or was it a special promotion?

Have a great time in the Bahamas!

I know this is slightly off topic but is there any way to get SPG/Marriott to match Hyatt status? I stayed at a Hyatt for 6 days for work and will be gaining status during my trip to DLR and would like to be able to book the Swolphin with status. I use a CSR so my points go anywhere.

My first bank account bonus ever has posted today! $300 from Chase and it was sooo easy. Why didn't I know about this years ago?! Also, my CIC arrived yesterday, just as I finished up the spend for my SPG Biz!

I'm still waiting for my discover deposit to post. Once it does I can move on to Citi. Looking forward to my first bonus. It seems I can't do chase since they aren't in TN.

I put a piece of lime green duct tape on the bottom, where the wheel are, and down the back. They usually come out upside down, and this makes them super easy to spot. I do this still, even though we now have blue instead of dark green.
LOVE THIS. Am copying next time I travel with fam members with black luggage. (They'll be fine with it, I'm the one who hauls our stuff off the carousels when we group travel anyway!)
