I love credit cards so much!

DH got his denial letter for the CIP today. The reason given was 5/24.

Remove DH as AU from those 2 accounts. Then get Chase to remove those 2 AUs from DH’s credit reports. Try again in a month or two. Good luck next time!

“UN-like”

:scratchin Is he over 5/24 or do you think it’s a mistake? What was the exact wording on the denial?
I have him as an AU on my Hyatt (bonus points) and Amex Ameriprise Platinum (free AU and we need it for lounge access for our family of 4) which I got last year. I had him apply for the IHG and JetBlue this year. He’s definitely over 5/24 with the AU cards.

Will try that. Thanks. I’ll be 3/24 in February 2019.

Are you going to try to be the DP that recons past the AU cards. It’s worth a shot maybe.

Possibly. I’m not sure it’s worth the trouble since I really don’t have a business. Plus between the 2 of us we have : Barclays arrival plus, chase freedom (x2), CSR, CFU, Disney, Hyatt, IHG, JetBlue plus (x2) Citi premier, Amex prg, vanilla platinum (cancelled)spg personal and Ameriprise platinum, blue business plus, blue cash (x2) Capital one quicksilver (x2). All of these cards were obtained from November 2016 to the present.

Ok, slight revision. Remove him as an AU from the Hyatt card, then have DH (or as DH) SM Chase to remove that AU from his credit report. That'll get one slot back for the CIP. Keep the Ameriprise Plat AU; I don't think Amex will remove it from his credit reports anyway. I didn't have any luck with Amex removing my wife's Plat AU.

Thanks, Lain. So recon in 30 days?

I have the bulk of the hard pulls. He has the ihg, JetBlue and the two authorized user cards. D’oh I forgot that I made him apply for the Amtrak card in July 2016...

Perhaps reapply in 31 days to 2 months to be safe.

Timeline might look something like this:

Today/Tomorrow: You SM Chase to request removal of DH as AU on the Hyatt card. Chase may or may not make you call in.

Once removed, this weekend: From DH's Chase account, send a general (account inquiry?) SM to Chase to request they remove the Hyatt AU account from his credit reports. Something to the effect of, "I see from my credit reports that I am listed as an authorized user on my wife’s Chase Hyatt credit card account ending in xxxx; I am no longer an AU on those cards, am not and have never been financially responsible for the charges on those cards, so can Chase remove that card from my credit reports with each of the credit bureaus to which Chase reports?"

In my experience, Chase may bounce your request around to the right departments for about a week, but they should be able to remove the AUs from your DH's credit reports just via SM.

When I was removing my wife's AUs, the AU accounts usually disappeared from DW's credit reports when Chase updated the primary card's report to the credit bureaus. So it can take until the next statement close.

This should put you up to 30 days out, maybe more. Due to 0/30, you'll need 30 days for the first CIP app to "drop off" Chase's radar anyway.

I sweat legit bizs have more hurdles than the fake ones!
You aint kidding! I just referred DH for the CIP on Tuesday night. It was his first Chase business card application. He has a legit business for over 10 years and a solid 6 figure schedule C income and got the 30 day screen! So annoying. He has 4 chase personal cards but one of those is over 10 years old and two are 5 years old. He was 1/24 (CSR 8/16)! He was approved for the SPG Business a couple months ago instantly. Credit score over 800 and a mortgage at the same place for almost 20 years. We had our credit frozen so he called recon yesterday morning, thinking that it was that (I lifted 2 of the likely contenders). But no, the credit pull was fine, they wanted more info on the business. Really? What exactly is confusing about real estate? Anyway, DH asked them why he was getting the strip search given his numbers and the guy didn't know what to say. Pretty funny. The good news is that he was approved today, but it makes me wonder what is going on over there. It also makes me nervous about the planned CP cards at the end of the year for him. I wonder if they are looking at the household cards and patterns at all? That might explain it, but it would also suck.

Spoke with DH and he is up for a little more crazy in our life! So my new plan to get to Japan next year is to use the AS miles I'm getting from the hotels and flights Marriott packages to book Emirates. I've never taken a shower while flying on a plane. So, that seemed a good enough reason to do it. While I was looking at flights I saw that we'd have to connect in Dubai. I've never been there, nor had a desire to go there, to be honest. But, if I have to connect there anyhow and deal with a long layover, then I was thinking I might as well take advantage of AS's stopover rules and do a stop over in Dubai, go ride camels in the desert and go s̶k̶i̶i̶n̶g take ski lessons at the mall and find out what other sorts of shenanigans we might get ourselves into. So that is the current plan, we shall see how it goes. DH agreed to take off 2 more days so we can attempt to do this. YAY!!!
Great minds. I'd actually thought about trying something like this, but with 4 of us (split among bus/first), it became overwhelming. I can't wait to hear progress reports and if it works out, how the showers are :)

Wow, so sorry about this. I think I lucked out because the rep tried to book with funjet and I insisted that the price was cheaper directly with Disney. So she went on the Disney website to confirm and booked. Our trip is 37 days out so I would be furious if this happened to me.

Its happening to me and we are 40 days out. Between usual end of the school year stuff, graduation stuff, visitors, etc we haven't even had time to call again since last Friday. I thought I was doing good to email my agent, but got the autoreply that she is out of the office for 2 weeks. I wish I had not put the tickets on my DH CSR because he really does not have time to call during the day but I do and they will not talk to me. We have not been to Disney in years and really the whole 60 day advance FP thing is really what turned me off to start with. This is not helping matters. I keep thinking that as long as I get them before 30 days I will be OK because all the 60 day people probably got their FPs right away anyway and nothing can be done about that now.

Well, I'm a dope. I went out this afternoon to get a VGC at Staples, thinking I could use Chase Pay there for 5X on the CF, but no. It's Best Buy that has Chase Pay, not Staples. And Best Buy doesn't have VGCs. At least I realized this before I went out of my way to go to Staples. I ended up getting the VGC at Walgreens and paid with my Marriott Biz, since I still have a little bit of that MSR left to do.

Do you have to go through and click on each transaction to verify points post? There must be an easier way!
I just calculated the difference between my Starpoints earned and total balance on my last statement. (I only have one statement on the card so far, and all of my charges were at 1X points, so it was easy this way for me.) I'm missing 380 points from a PayPal purchase on 4/2. I guess I will chat or call them tomorrow.

I'm having some FOMO over the 50K bonus on CIC. I was planning to PC my CIP to a CIC, but now I want to apply for it outright for the bonus. I like using UR points to pay for our flights so I can always use more URs. Do you all think I'm safe to apply for it before 5/20? I'm currently 3/24, with 2 Chase Biz cards:

BofA Amtrak 12/16
CSR 5/17
CIP 9/17
Marriott Biz 2/18
SPG Biz 3/18
SPG Personal 4/18

I don't know if the SPG personal has shown up on my credit report yet, I'll have to check. I'm hoping not so Chase will think my last card was their Marriott Biz back in Feb. My other concern is credit limits. I'm at well over 50% of income in combined Chase CLs, so I should probably reduce some of them before I apply (if I decide to). That, and the fact that I already have 2 Chase business cards. I also haven't used the CIP in about a month, since I've been working on MSRs on other cards. Maybe I should give it a few swipes so it looks like I'm using the cards I have.

So I'm thinking the answer is no, but can I transfer a room only Disney reservation to Chase to pay with UR? Specifically a Cast rate room.

I unfortunately don't have the answer, but echoing what others have said, would you make sure to let us know how trying this goes? The CM discount is pretty awesome and it'd be great to save more URs for other expenses. The only info I have is that I know my cousin had to fax in proof of her Disney employment 12 days before we checked in to Coronado Springs for us to get the CM rate, even though we had made our room-only reservations ~7 months prior. I'm wondering if transferring the reservation to Chase would make it look like you booked through a travel agent, which would mean you could not get a CM discount (at least that was my understanding based on our conversations with a TA we know). But I certainly hope not...

You’re probably fine from a timing standpoint (especially if SPG personal isn’t showing yet).

I would consider reducing CLs. Since you have existing biz cards try to leave some limit available there to move over if you have to.

Your 1 issue might be getting 3 Chase Biz cards in 9 months. But no harm in trying :D
